The little diner and outdoor seating area
    Monica K.

Happened upon this place on the way to a different food destination and glad we stopped. It's a small diner with about 10 counter seats about 6 tables inside as well as outdoor seating. They serve breakfast and lunch; we stopped for lunch. We had a group of 5 and were welcomed by a friendly staff and able to place our order within a few minutes of walking in. Amongst our food order was a burger, chicken sandwich, turkey club, fresh cut fries, onion rings, pickled beets and three bean salad. Our food averaged to about $15pp with drinks. Everyone really enjoyed their food. The fresh cut fries were seasoned, which you really dont come across in nys. They were tasty and I also dipped them in cholula to give them a little kick! We chose to eat outside and what a spectacular view!

Burger. Looks great. Overcooked & dry as a saltine cracker...

They get a star for friendly staff, 2 stars for the food. We both had burgers & fries. They looked great when they came out, but were soooooOOOOooo very dry! Maybe part of that was a lean mix, but mostly it was from being on the flat top for forty forevers. The fries, on the other hand, were done a perfect medium, which sadly is not good on a French fry.

The Fairlee Diner is located in Fairlee, Vermont. We stopped here for breakfast on the way back to New York. The place was fairly busy for 9am and seems to be a local favourite. I ordered the the Jay's Eggs Benedict which is a typical eggs benny but with kielbasa sausage. The eggs benny starts with a split English muffin and is topped with a full sliced kielbasa sausage, two eggs and a very creamy hollandaise sauce. On the side, you get potatoes with or without onions. I really enjoyed my eggs benny. Not the best one I've had but I really appreciate the choices of meat. You can choose from Canadian bacon, regular bacon, kielbasa, and others. I particularly liked the kielbasa sausage and found it to be very juicy. I'm not a coffee person myself but my family did not like the coffee. Perhaps it was just an off morning. Overall, the Fairlee Diner is a nice local diner to grab breakfast at. I definitely recommend the eggs benedict with kielbasa.

I am very grateful for Yelp. Traveling through we almost stopped at a diner right off the highway and I thought maybe I should check here first. So happy I did, just down the road was this little place. The staff was very friendly and the food was fresh, delicious and made with pride. You must try the locally made strawberry rhubarb pie, my husband's favorite. I don't even like strawberry rhubarb pie, but he insisted I try a bite and I'm glad I did because it was delightfully delicious, even the crust was delicious. Busy, friendly, welcoming little cafe.

This is a real home town diner. Old fashioned booths line the diner. Great eggs, service and atmosphere.

As always my annual summer trip up north includes breakfast at the diner. Fresh and delicious. Remember to bring cash ( or a check).

Absolutely mind blown…read more I have made numerous ski trips this way and always seen this place tucked away in the corner of my eye when approaching the intersection. No cell service so couldn't look up anything prior to entering. Lovely little diner, please remember to shut the door as you enter as it doesn't close. I made my way to the counter and started really looking at everything around the place. Personally could have kept all the political stuff out but I was here for food. Liked all the books off the side as well as the dinosaur toys. The message that is placed in front of you tell a good story, and they're not wrong one bit. Enjoy the company around you. I was blown away with the size of the blueberry pancake, and I was warned. Never have I taken a pancake to go because I didn't finish it. I had some corn beef hash too so that filled me up a bit, but this thing is massive! Definitely could've taken it down in my college days. I will have to come back to try and defeat it again. Anyways, I did enjoy my corn beef hash too, very potato driven. All and all, happy I finally popped in. Don't know when the next time I'll be back, but it is now on my radar of places to stop when ready for pancakes!

The diner is very small inside and decorated with political extremism. I thought the set up was funny, unique, and provided great conversation topics. However, the food is what made me dislike the diner. First off, the waitress dipped her hand in the coffee and didn't replace it with a new one. Was given attitude after asking for a new coffee. Then after that, the coffee ended up being the worst tasting diner coffee I've ever had (it was $6 as well!!!). I ordered the world domination breakfast and was disappointed. The only good part of the experience were the pancakes, which were very delicious. Didn't finish the other food outside of the pancakes. Was very surprised after reading the reviews.

I first heard of Country Girl after watching Chronicle approx. 2 year ago. The whole experience was awesome! We ordered drinks immediately after taking our seats at the counter. I had a pepsi and I had to order a vanilla milk shake to go! My wife had water and coffee. We wanted to get our order in because we felt like the staff was nice enough to let us in that we didn't want to stall them from getting out at closing. My wife had grilled cheese with tomato soup. I had a burger with fries. My wife was thrilled with the soup. She said it was the best tomato soup she has had in a long time! My fries were excellent. home made and tasty! You can see in the pictures that the diner is set up with booths and a counter top. I am told that they are busy year round. I can see why because the food and service is fabulous. great food, great service at an unbelievable price…read more we stopped in here on our way back to Boston. We had no pre read what we were getting. I didn't see the menu, nada. this was literally the best meal of our entire vacation! (we spent 5-6 times more elsewhere and this still topped it!). Google maps cited it as the closest restaurant with the least diversion from our path. We are soooo happy we went. I would recommend it to anyone for a real hometown experience. Thank Y'all for an amazing lunch. I got an open faced hamburger with fries and pickled beets and my husband got the club sandwich with turkey. (adding in some amazing homemade coconut At the end). my burger was really great. my husband loved his sandwich. he is a picky and not a big eater but he ate every bite of his meal and most of the pie. This is the kind of simple (but great) diner food I miss so so much. it just doesn't really exist anymore. it literally made my trip! we were total strangers unlike nearly everyone in there that was greeted by name. they treated us like they knew us for years and every person in the diner staff engaged with us while we were there. 15/10 experience. A table for six is right inside the door. Tables of two and four seats take up the rest of the space and it's decorated in a variety of newspaper articles, signs and other miscellany. They have a small parking lot next to the building. The spots are tight so be prepared to squeeze into and out of your vehicle. There are several steps up into the restaurant from the sidewalk. They offer breakfast all day so we both got what we wanted. I ordered eggs cooked my way and got their home made bread for a small up charge. The bread was a thick slice of tasty white that I enjoyed. They offer egg plates with a variety of items including meats and potatoes. The hamburger my dining companion ordered was a big portion with lots of fresh toppings cooked to the temperature he requested. Our waitress was very nice. She kept an eye on us, was efficient and pleasant. My coffee was good and came with those little single serve creamers. Nice little breakfast and lunch spot.
