Stopped in unexpectedly on a Sunday - it was very quiet. The waitress was so attentive and helpful. I ordered the Caesar salad and garlic parsley fries. The salad was very generous, and flavorful. The fries were an utter disappointment. They were soggy and had garlic powder instead of fresh chopped garlic. Nice restaurant for a casual meal and a cocktail. The restaurant has a nice bar and dim lighting for a cozy vibe and there is a large outdoor seating area available. The menu offers a variety of pub food small plates and main entrées. Our group all tried the fish and frites, prepared with Mahi Mahi. The fish fried perfectly crisp and was tasty; however, the frites were lackluster and the presentation was messy. We stoped here for lunch on a Saturday and the place was empty . Nice rustic decor, but the wood & metal chairs were surprisingly heavy, even just pulling them out from the table was a chore. All 3 of us ordered the pesto sun-dried tomato grilled cheese. We were surprised to find that they used pita or naan bread for the "grilled cheese". Despite the ingredients, it didn't have much flavor & was oily. I had sweet potato fries and the others had garlic parsley fries. They were all cut thinner than normal, which would have been fine except that the garlic ones were overcooked. They offered to replace them but we didn't want to wait. read more

Got lunch at this popular downtown spot in Mundelein. It can get pretty busy at times especially at lunch or any time it seems. Park Street has a pretty hard to describe menu as there's lots of cuisines and whatever. Like it doesn't really specialize in anything. That may be one of the reasons for the mixed reviews. A pretty big menu of various items. It has Asian, Mexican, and lots more. That may be a problem. As in they aren't focusing enough on one area. They spread it around too much. It's about $10 for the cheapest cocktails. That's one highlight. Great prices on those to be sure, so we got a few. I most liked the Perfect Paloma. This is tequila blanco with grapefruit and grapefruit soda. As for the food, too expensive. It's about $15 for a salad. The Vegan Spring Salad was the plant based option for these. Good, except they didn't have all the ingredients. They had the Brussels sprouts of course, but no chickpeas which was the main protein. For the prices it's pretty good as far as cocktails. It's kind of pricier on food but not crazy to be honest. The food is okay but it should be a lot better considering the prices and whatever. read more

I ate here today with my family. The food is really awesome and I love that there is a restaurant like this close to my house. This was our second trip to the restaurant. The first trip was next level 5 star awesome!!!. Today however, the food was cold. I don't mean it was not warm instead of hot, everyone's food came cold. Why was this? That's easy. The place was slammed and there was a total of one waiter. He was working hard but he even told us how short staffed they were today. My guess is that our food came up and sat for 30 min before it came to our table because it did take a long long time to come. So don't get me wrong, I do like this place. However, as I was paying the $100 bill for the four of us and still looking at the uneaten ice cold carnitas taco, I have to admit, that was not an awesome feeling for me who loves eating out as much as anyone. A friend and I met here for dinner tonight. Out waitress was so nice and she had great recommendations for food and dessert. We ordered her recommendations. Entree: grilled cheese naan. It was very cheesy and had garlic. It also came with thousand island dressing My friend's Entree: steak tacos with a salad. The steak tasted really good. It was kind of sweet and had a good pesto sauce. Dessert: chocolate cake. It was so light and fluffy with chocolate moose. Not rich at all. My Friend's dessert: chocolate cheesecake. The food was very good. The French toast was sweet and fluffy and had healthy strawberries. The Peruvian Stir Fry (Lomo) was very good as well - probably the best on the menu. We have been to Park Street several times and enjoyed the food, the ambiance and the service was pretty good. That came to a tragic end tonight. Things were terrible across the board. Food was served cold. When we brought this up to the server and manager they decided to argue with us. My son had the steak and pasta and the creamy pasta was ice cold and the steak was room temperature. The chicken was not hot and fries were cold and rubbery like they were made hours prior. We sat down at 6:35 pm and server took a while to arrive. Ordering took a while to do and drinks took well over 20 minutes to arrive. Food took over an hour and as described cold to touch. A band was there and they were screaming music and it was way too loud. We never got drink refills, most son did not get dinner as we sent it back and it came back the same way. Cold and it was never addressed. He was never asked if there was something else he wanted. No apologies or attempts to rectify. We will probable not be back any time soon. We went for my daughter's birthday and well it did not go well. Hate to see a good place go downhill but it is just not good anymore. The table next us had a meal never come out and the server agued with them as well and they did not get that meal. I will not be ordering delivery from here again. Food Review: The chicken wings were good. The blue cheese dressing was exceptionally bitter, though. The pork tacos were good. The rolls were good, but the chimichuri was oily, under seasoned, and had a pronounced grassy flavor. Finally, the garlic parsley fries were flavored okay, but the fries were soft, not crispy. Lively place with attractive decor. I loved the smell of garlic when we walked in. I tried the Parmesan crusted mahi mahi and lobster bisque, all were delicious. Came here after visiting the Friday farmers market. We didn't have a reservation and had to sit inside because the outside was booked for open mic night even though there were many open tables. Unfortunately, the tacos we had were mediocre. This was what the waitress suggested eating. Park street has a good sized menu, but it does seem to be a bit pricey. People are *ridiculous*. So many complaints about slow service at a sit-down restaurant. In case y'all haven't noticed, the restaurant industry has been DEVASTATED by the pandemic. Came here on a Friday night and really enjoyed open mic night. Some of the acts were really good. Outdoor seating was excellent and the service was great. The menu has changed, which I understand may be for the increasing food costs, availability, etc. The quality of food was decent but not how it used to be for sure! He couldn't describe the entrees, never came back for water and drinks and literally said "seriously, you are killing me with this" when asked to split the bill. I ordered a Koval bourbon. So good and the right way to start the evening. Our server was knowlegable and really patient. My wife ordered a Calzone with mushrooms, pepperoni and onions. I ordered the Pork Shank with smokey tomato sauce. The Calzone came out cold and it was over cooked. My wife was frustrated after waiting a bit for this. It really was cold to the touch and hard as a rock. For my meal, I asked them to switch the zucchini that normally comes with the pork shank, with spinach. The spinach came out piping hot. The pork shank was room temperature (as in cold). The flavor was good but it tasted like it was several days old and left out. I was very disappointed. The waitress would have done anything to make this right. She was awesome. But the dinner was VERY disappointing. The chef was talking to several tables (we assumed regulars) and obviously missed the ball on our meals big time. He was only serving and dealing with a table or two. I was looking forward to trying their menu but this establishment decided to be rude, unaccommodating and inhospitable to my family before I even arrived. In stead they only offered an hour+ wait when there were tables available. Their priority was servicing a wedding party rather than townsfolk. Do not go! My son found a hair, and the waitress confirmed it. She offered to make a fresh plate, but we were done. They were upset that we walked out. If your standard is well it's only a little hair then maybe you should not operate a food business. They still charged for a drink that they just brought and my wife just took a sip. 1 drink, 1 pop, 1 corn = $27. I have no problem paying for good food and amazing service. The waitress did all she could, but the manager asked if I was serious because we wanted to leave. I believe in supporting local businesses, this was our 1st time. Despite some lower reviews my husband and I decided to give this place a try, I wish we hadn't. Service We arrived about 5:00 to an empty restaurant and no one at the hostesses stand (no big deal), but rather than the three employees standing at the end of the bar greeting us, we got an almost annoyed, "you're here for dinner?" It felt a lot like, why are you here, we are still getting things set up and ready. We were seating, listened to a server and someone in the kitchen yell back and forth for a bit about what the soups were that day etc, then sat for what felt like a long time especially since there were no other tables. Finally got our order placed, but service felt slow throughout. The really poor point came after we finished our meal. We finished eating a few minutes to 6 (I know this specifically because there was a clock right next to our table as part of the decor). Our plates and drinks were cleared, and then we sat, and sat, and sat, finally getting our check a little after 6:20; we had our credit card at the ready not wanting to have to sit any longer, and finally left at 6:25. A few other tables had come in the meantime but nothing that would warrant neglecting a table for over 20 minutes. Food Poutine appetizer had a lot of potential with flavor, but lacked in the execution. The fries were not hot or crispy enough to hold up to the cheese and gravy. There were a few piece off sliced cheese that were under melted, you could still see the shape of the square cheese slice. Definitely needed to be warmed longer. My husband had the paella and I had the salmon, both were fine but nothing impressive. I thought the veggies that came with my meal were undercooked and not hot enough. As we were leaving, we noticed a few tables with bread which we were never offered, another miss. Decor Really nice place! This used to be our favorite summertime restaurant. Good food, nice waitstaff, fun sitting outside. We had dinner on Valentines Day and it was nice. 1 poor waiter for the whole place and he was great. I can't imagine how his evening went; we were there very early when it was quiet. What went wrong was the fact that when checking his bank account, my husband discovered we were charged twice, our bill was over $100. My husband went to the restaurant to discuss the matter because the phones were not working. He explained to the owner what happened and she told him it was not their fault, it was the fault of the server (the company that processes the charges). My husband explained that it is their problem and a refund is necessary and appreciated. Again the owner stood defiant without taking any responsibility. Not even an apology or any kind of resolution. As business owners ourselves, we always try to problem solve with our customers and at the very least apologize and promise to try to fix the issue. Great local independent restaurant in downtown Mundelein. New owners took over a while back with a good rotation of special features and are always very warm and welcoming. Nightly specials during the week are a nice touch with Wednesday being our favorite with half price bottles of wine and $5 off burgers and $5 craft beer on Mondays. Outside dog friendly seating is a nice touch as well during the warmer months and Friday night farmers market. read more
