We stayed at the Pinnacle while in town recently because of it's convenient location next to the harbor and central to downtown. IMO, it's worth it to get a harbor view room because although it's not technically on the boardwalk, there's a park across the street so there's nothing blocking your view of the harbor and you get a nice balcony. We also tried the restaurant/lounge in the lobby a few times and service there was great. Room was also clean and comfortable. My only piece of advice would be the parking garage can be a little tricky. The garage is shared with two buildings on the same block so exiting and entering can be tricky, therefore make sure to remember your stall and follow the Hotel signs in the garage. We made a mistake and exited out one of the other buildings on the weekend when it was closed and had a tough time figuring out where we were parked the next day. read more

No way this hotel is a 4 star property, it is closer to a 2-3 star experience at best. The staff appeared unable to provide even basic information or assistance without first seeking management approval. It created an atmosphere where employees seemed to be walking on eggshells, unable to offer genuine hospitality unless it fit strictly within management guidelines. The lobby had an strange odor with large amounts of luggage piled at the entryway. Our room featured outdated carpeting in poor condition, and there were patched holes in the ceiling, including one that was literally covered with a piece of tape. What makes this especially disappointing is that the hotel is located in a truly pristine and desirable location. Unfortunately, management appears far more focused on penny pinching and rigid control than on maintaining the property properly or empowering employees to take care of guest needs and provide a welcoming experience. read more

Toilet stopped working after first flush. Front desk promised help but no one came. At checkout manager promised to put $50 on my credit card because I had prepaid. He not only didn't do that, there was an erroneous charge placed on my card two days later. Room rate was $300 per night. I should have stayed at the Marriott across the street. read more

I booked through delta vacations. At check on i had $15 off lunch and 20% of dinner. Great perk. All staff were extremely hospitable. Especially Max at the bar. He gave me tips on where to go around Vamcouver. My only complaint was that the jets in the jacuzzi weren't working. I was looking forward to it after a long day. Girls bday celebration! Well the idea was to have a quick one night with my girls to experience downtown which we don't get too often enough and take in the scenes. The pinnacle is a go to for comfort and service so on a Thursday night we booked off work on time for a change and headed down to the city. Really we couldn't have planned the timing better. We arrived at 4:30 pm enough time to settle in, change and take an uber to Gastown, now that is another review. Had a free drink at the bar before we left, great Appies and the drinks were what we needed. I realized when we got back later that night that I forgot my toothbrush and toothpaste so called the front desk to ask for some. They sipped r they would be right up but never came, a bit of a let down really. I called again in the morning and they didn't let me know this time that they left it on the door, no knock, I waited I while. I have heard from others and read a few reviews about the housekeeping service and lack of attention. Anyway, the hot tub was nice the room was clean and comfy. Overall a good stay, we will probably go back hopefully I won't forget any essentials next time. read more

We came for a weekend trip as we had stayed here many years prior. The hotel is dated, but in a good location and clean. Parking is an additional charge and a little tricky as there is a part of the parking garage that exits through a commercial building that locks you out on weekends. When parking keep a lookout for hotel marked portions. The employees were friendly and responsive. The front desk associate checked us in speedily, but didn't explain the hold charge amount well. Regardless, they provided us everything we needed and service with kindness and a smile. The room we received was a corner room behind the elevator which was loud and made noises at night which were extremely disruptive. The bathroom was also dated and the bathroom door didn't lock. We notified the hotel of this upon departure so hopefully they fixed this. The location was very convenient and walkable to the water, downtown and many different restaurants. The rates were about average at $200-$300 a night. Overall, a dated but nice hotel with convenient access and good service, but beware the corner room! read more

Safes are located in each room. Staff - everyone here is very friendly. Executive lounge - located on the 2nd floor, they serve breakfast, appetizers around dinner and have alcohol. Snacks are available all day of chips, gummies and chocolate bars. Nespresso machines with 4 different flavor pumps make the coffee elite. Yelp Review 2023 #246: After years of running and volunteering Lululemon Seawheeze Half Marathon, I've established Pinnacle Hotel as one of the best hotels I've stayed at. The location is absolutely fantastic as it's a short walk to the Convention Center where race packet pickup is at. The start line is also nearby. It's located in Downtown Vancouver next to the water so you can board your cruise ship. The Waterfront train station is also pretty close for getting to/ from the airport and other parts of the city. There are plenty of restaurants and businesses in this area. The staff are friendly and helpful from check in to checkout. I've never had a bad experience at this hotel. I normally get 2 free welcome drinks which I don't ever use since I don't drink. The rooms we've been in have been ample in size. My very first stay here, I had a great view of the harbor and I would watch seaplanes takeoff and land. Toiletries are provided. The flatscreen TV is small but does the job - I only need it so I can fall asleep at night. It's quiet. And when there's 3-4 of us, they put us in adjoining rooms and we can open the doors and turn our rooms into a suite. The room rates are competitive for the area. The hotel is a bit older and could probably use some revamping. read more

On the plus side - this hotel's great location, their very good restaurant, and the great room we had with a Harbour view. Initially upon check-in they said we had a king bed instead of two queens. I had requested two beds at reservation since we were two friends traveling together. The very helpful front desk clerk switched it out and gave us an excellent room with a harbour view and two beds - thank you!) On the down side - being a fan of all things formal and beautiful, I was disappointed to see that the showcase brass staircase at entrance is not being kept up. A little brass polish and care would give a better first impression. Another downside was that no one answered the phone all weekend - no room service, housekeeping nor front desk. Very odd. Chose this hotel because it was close to the Princess Cruise Terminal and the price was fairly decent. If its you first time in Vancouver and don't plan to drive more than 30 mins away then I would skip the car rental because Pinnacle is close enough to downtown that you can walk, catch a bus, uber, lyft or taxi. I booked through hotels.com and one can choose free parking or free breakfast. Nonetheless we didn't have a car so we opted for breakfast which came to about $36 per person not including tip. The Breakfast buffet changed daily but offered the typical American Fare, eggs, sausage, bacon, fruits, grilled veggies, potatoes, pastries. We did get a city view room and it was quite beautiful, the gym was outdated but sufficient, indoor pool, on site restaurant and gift shop! Well, the hotel is nice, and the staff is nice. You can ask for as many bottles of water as you need. Bell service is really great with locking your luggage altogether. The rooms are nice, with a single serve coffee maker (pods included), and a mini fridge. There is also a safe, and bath robes. However, the beds are too small! They are definitely not queen sized. If there are only 2 people in the room, it's ok. But a family of 4 people...these beds are way too small. With the price per night, this is unacceptable. We could not sleep well at all. Maybe the hotel is older, and people were smaller in size back then? If I ever visit Vancouver again, I may try a different hotel. read more

I had a nice stay at the Pinnacle Hotel Harbourfront. I think the best perk of this hotel is its location near the Waterfront/Convention Center while also still being just a short walk to the Downtown Vancouver area. The staff were very kind here and helped me with an early check-in request as well. The gym and hot tub / pool area were especially great too. I do agree with some of the other reviewers that the hotel did appear a bit outdated for the price, especially when walking through the hotel room hallways, but I still had a pleasant stay. It seems there are a lot of gripes about the cost of parking and breakfast here too, but I did not need those services during my trip so I unfortunately can't comment. The service is amazing. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. The shampoo/conditioner/soap they have smells really good. Little fridge in the room was convenient (a microwave would have been great, but the room didn't have one) We didn't go in the pool but we did go to the fitness center, which was nice. It was nice that the pool was inside. We were on the 18th floor (room 1813) and the view was incredible. We walked to Stanley park (maybe a mile away). Another stay at the Pinnacle Hotel. Not much has changed in the last year. Still the same outdated carpets and such but that is okay. Their quality of service is good and the rooms are clean and appropriately appointed. This time we brought our Golden Retriever Stella with us. We haven't traveled with a pet to a place like this and it's a bit of a challenge to get her outside from the 10th floor but we managed. There is an extra charge for a pet, of course but we knew that going in. We will probably stay here again. read more

We enjoyed our stay in Vancouver. We wish we had a view of the waterfront but still enjoyed the service, atmosphere and service.

This location is outdated, there are constantly taxis in the guest load and unload zone making it difficult to even get your bags in, not one staff member said hello when coming and going, and the one request we had while there was for silverware to be brought to our room and they wouldn't even do that. It's crazy that we had to pay a resort fee when I've had better service at motels. Also, please be aware that parking is difficult or unavailable for any taller vehicles. As we purchased our stay through a third party site, we were not notified. read more

It's in a nice area. The room is a little outdated though. The beds creek too much. The curtains need to be stronger blackout. If you stay on the water view site you will get the sun reflection even through the blackout curtains. For the price that the rooms are they should try and adding some new mattresses and they should cover the wholes in the walls as well as in the restrooms. read more

We stayed here for three nights after a cruise. People will say that you can walk from the cruise ship to the hotel, we're in our 60s and in pretty good health but when you have two large suitcases and two carry-ons, it's a bit of a trek. When you get off of the ship, they have a well oiled process of getting a taxi, it took no time and it cost us $5! The hotel was referred to us by friends and we were not disappointed, however, the price was a bit much but then again, you are at the waterfront and walkability is great! We splurged on a high rise, premium waterfront room and we were not disappointed! Some reviews stated that the hotel was getting tired, I beg to differ! We travel fairly frequently and we were impressed by all that it had to offer. Our room was huge! I'm a clean freak and the room was very clean. I won't walk barefoot in a room but in the morning I didn't put my socks on and by the time I went to shower, I was amazed that my feet were clean, that never happens! So I'm not sure about the tiredness of the hotel, I thought it was just fine. The bar & restaurant on site were great! Just remember, if you're coming from the states, it's much easier to just pay with a credit card for everything while in Canada because it automatically converts the Canada $$$ to USD, which at this point, is less than the CAD. It's a short walk to the beautiful waterfront walk! We rented electric bikes to ride thru the awesome Stanley Park, I highly recommend it, so may trails with one that leads to a waterfront trail. I would highly recommend this hotel. Some friends that we went with stayed in a standard, well known, small hotel several blocks away and that was quite the surprise for them, they were so disappointed. Stayed here the night before a cruise. I realize it's downtown prices near a tourist destination. But seems way overpriced for a tight room with outdated and tired appointments. No ventilation for shower, so that adds to the mustiness. The room was clean and sheets tightly fitted. Decent pillows. No noisy AC unit. Definitely as for a room on the harbor side! The lobby ambiance was ok. Nothing grand. (We also had dinner at the restaurant downstairs. Pricey for sandwiches but the chicken sandwich was really good and the fries were excellent. I really enjoyed staying here. Our room got upgraded upon check in to a WATERFRONT view and it was gorgeous! Thank you Andrew at the front desk. This weekend a cheer competition was in town and every time we tried to use the pool/hot tub we were unable because ALL of the girls where in the pool doing pyramid stunts and flipping each other making it UNSAFE AND where we couldn't enjoy BOTH pool and hot tub!! I feel it's unfair to the guests to be inconvenienced because of all of the cheerleaders. Our first time in Vancouver and we loved staying at the Pinnacle. We also got a partial view of the harbor from the 10th floor which was nice. The room was a little bit outdated but it was clean and felt comfortable. Also the shower had amazing water pressure. It was walking distance to a lot of things like the harbor and restaurants. The parking lot was also right under the hotel and some of the elevators go directly to the parking which was nice instead of switching elevators at the lobby. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Had the unfortunate situation where the housekeeper accessed your room without knocking so she saw you buck naked. Mind you this is just after checking in the room when one would expect no one will be coming in to do any cleaning. Apparently she mistook the room for another that she was cleaning. A tip from a seasoned cruiser advised us to arrive a day or two early prior to embarking on our cruise to relax and unwind from our flight. Best advice ever because I booked a room for me and Dan three days prior to sailing and it was with Pinnacle Hotel Harbourfront. We arrived early in the morning, which our front desk person, Richard shared check-in time wouldn't be until three BUT if a room opened up early, he would contact me. He also shared while we wait, we could eat breakfast at their bistro and would give us a fitness center pass (since we didn't have our room yet). He also assured us that they would store our luggage until then. After we ate breakfast and toured the fitness facility, we went back down to the front desk area to inquire about nearby stores and activities. As we sat down in the lobby area to research the maps, Richard came up to us with our ROOM KEY. If we wanted to hug him because we were actually tired from our flight but I didn't want him to feel like we were strong arming him for a room. He was so nice and said they also gave us a complimentary upgrade with a room that overlooked the Harbour! As I'm writing this, they are down to one working elevator and I'm hoping for the best because they were trying to make the best of the situation as the guests wait by passing out water and juice as we waited in line to get on the elevator. We check out tomorrow but I had to write this review because the customer service has been stellar. When we opened the door of the women's washroom, the male janitor was standing inside with the cleaning tools staring at us. We were shocked to see a male janitor inside a women's washroom. Then the male janitor looked at us as if we were bothering him and he left without apologizing. The hotel should have a warning sign outside the washroom so others would not go in. Also, we were startling to see there was a woman still using the washroom inside. The hotel should make sure there is no one using the washroom before they have the janitor cleaning the washroom especially when the janitor is opposite sex. read more

We had an average two-night stay here during our first visit to Vancouver. The check-in was easy and quick. The room was nice and tidy. However, the parking was $38 per night after tax which I think is steep but having it was convenient. The hot tub was out of service which we were looking forward to using so that was a big disappointment. The hotel is close to many restaurants, landmarks such as Canada Place, and waterfront viewpoints which we explored just by walking. The other tourist spots such as Stanley Park, Capilano suspension bridge, and Granville island market are all a short drive from here. read more
