They understand my mother was an elderly woman who loves her bracelet (didn't matter if it was fashionable to fine jewelry) but just needed a different claps bc her disability of her fingers; she just doesn't have the fine motor skills to get her bracelet on by herself, so I got her an easier clasp to be put on and they were able to altered it promptly! They truly were sincere in hearing the sentimental story about my mother's bracelet and went all out to make sure it fit her tiny wrist and installed an easier clasps for her tiny fingers. I told them it's hard finding a genuine custom made jeweler who truly is knowledgeable, can also alter and can fix existing jewelry these days! This experience I had with them really wanted me to come back in the near future for any jewelry issues and/or wanting a new costume made jewelry (a hint for my husband to checkout for my jewelry wishlist at their location;). I highly recommend them, we need these wonderful family businesses to stay in business! I've been to other major big fine jewelry stores like Tiffany's but was never been greeted and treated as a valuable customer when I first walked into their door! They truly care for whatever your jewelry maybe! FYI they just open a new store in Farmington Hills off of orchard Lake and that's when I had the pleasure talking with the owner Kevin and Harout!

I had a vintage charm bracelet containing 80 silver charms that I wanted transferred to a necklace…read morethat I intended to purchase -the cost of putting those charms on was $800 & I thought that was really high. I didn't know if that was the going rate so I went to another jeweler where the cost of putting those charms on is $150. I've been dealing with Maloof's for years. This is not to say I would never go there for anything -perhaps a piece of jewelry or a ring, but I would never go there for any kind of repair or work on Jewelry

I genuinely wish I weren't writing this, especially after my initial experience at Maloof--which…read morewas stellar. A year ago, they offered the best price for a custom gold engagement ring, delivered impeccable craftsmanship, and treated me like a valued customer. That memory made us excited to return for our wedding bands. Unfortunately, that excitement evaporated the moment we were greeted by Jim. His demeanor was terse, dismissive, and bordering on condescending. Rather than guiding us through a special moment, he made us question whether we were foolish for even considering the pieces we showed interest in. After barely five minutes of engagement, he waved me off to another part of the store when I asked about silver chains. We stood awkwardly for nearly 20 minutes--no one acknowledged us, and it turned out we needed to pull a new number to get help. Meanwhile, I was fully prepared to make significant purchases. This review isn't about a single rude encounter--it's about how easily a brand can lose loyalty when they fail to deliver consistent respect and care. I'm giving Maloof two stars solely out of respect for their earlier excellence. But I won't return. If this business wants to remain relevant with a new generation of buyers, it needs to rethink who's representing it. A moment that should've been joyful was soured by apathetic service. That's the kind of dead weight that ages a brand out of existence.

SO MUCH to say with my first and last encounters. Unfortunately it was plural because the owner…read moreheld my scratched up watch hostage after I repeatedly asked for it back. If you prefer to work with someone with the HOSTILITY of 1,000 suns with ZERO respect for other humans, then this is the place for you! I went in for a simple battery change for my watch. The bearded man did just fine with that very quickly. When I retrieved the watch, the face of it was completely scraped up. I'm not talking a scratch or two. I considered letting it go, but it was hard to tell the time anymore with all those marks in the way so I spoke up. I politely asked if they have watch face replacements this size. He told me yes and they are $20. Bummed out that I came in for a quick and simple battery replacement I asked if we could negotiate a discount since it wasn't scraped up when I came in. He could have just said "no" or what would have been the mature response of, "Due to the pandemic, our business is not doing well. I'm sorry, but we cannot afford to offer any discounts." The UNPROFESSIONAL owner instead thought the appropriate response would be to lose complete control of his short fused temper and SCREAM at me, CURSE at me, call me names and repeatedly call me a LIAR. I never once stooped to his level due to my own integrity. Honestly, he was more upset over the scratches than I was. I merely asked a simple question. I never called him a liar in return. I told him, "Honestly, I don't believe either one of us is lying. I believe I didn't scratch it, and you believe you didn't scratch it. Neither one of us wants to be at fault and we're both telling the truth." But it was like explaining things to a wall. It no longer mattered what I said. He took my watch, told me to come back in an hour and that he'd fix it free of charge as long as I never come back. I said "no thank you" and asked for the watch back. He ignored me and fled to the back with it. Regrettably, I did as he "asked" and left. I returned an hour later at 2pm and the store was locked up and CLOSED...?? Was my watch just stolen by a jeweler? Do I call the cops? Is he just hiding out? I left, called the store a few minutes later and HE PICKED UP. They were open until 5pm, and I saw other workers there earlier... I returned a 3rd time at 3:30pm and it was like he wasn't expecting to see me again that day. He looked surprised and disgusted. Probably because he STILL HADN'T FIXED THE WATCH. He clearly wasn't expecting me to come back that day. It took him 2 minutes to change the watch face. He wasted 2.5 hours of my time for a 2 minute job because he got emotional. As he handed it back to me he again told me he's a professional, I'm a liar, never to come back, etc. I had the money in my pocket. I wanted to pay for the job because it was never about hurting him or his business. I am not the person he painted me to be in his head. But I couldn't get myself to pay someone who repeatedly harassed me. I offered kind words instead and left. It was more respect than he deserved from me, but that's who I am. The man may have days where he does fine work, but that doesn't mean squat if he treats his customers like total garbage. Unfortunately, I'm not the first review of his with this kind of story. Read the negative reviews and decide if you're worthy of more respect than he can give. Also check the Google Reviews there. I will happily take my future business to more professional places. Store Owner, I know you're reading this. In the future, don't always assume the worst from people. I never accused you of cheating me, nor did I ever lie to you. We're ALL struggling this year, not just you. I'm sorry you had a bad day, but that's on YOU. I deserve an apology for your rudeness, but I don't expect any kind of respect judging by the kind of person you choose to be to a complete stranger. I am thoroughly disappointed in your shameful behavior. There are far greater rewards through kindness. STOP being rude to customers whether you like them or not, and return their things when they ask. I pray that you do better.

I went in to have a basic ring resize, standard ring, smaller not larger...Jeremy told me a few…read moredays...after a week and a half I hadn't heard from him so I called and he said he had just finished but had to clean up and polish & be ready the next day and he would be there all day during his posted business hours [why not basic minimum customer service 101 contact me to let me know delayed, why, how long prior-even a quick simple text (????)]....I show up as agreed the next day walk in with ticket in hand and Jeremy is not there, and older guy is there, later find out it is his father, I ask but am given no reason he is not there, he "asks me" is the ring ready (????), I say that is why I am there-we just went through this, as if I have nothing better to do, he has a heck of time finding the ring, seems unsure if ring is completed (????), should also note half way through the conversation he mumbles something about green peppers and just walks away for a while (????) then suddenly says it is ready after looking at the same ring for x minutes-he didn't know that the 1st second (????), I put the ring on and it doesn't appear to have been resized at all-simply polished up/still exactly spinning around my finger as it had, I should note here that when sizing we tried 2 separate sizes I originally opted for the tighter snug size but called Jeremy the next his/business day early and said to play it safe because that knuckle is a bit bigger lets go with the larger size (both were acceptable), I was a bit upset, but not a whole lot I could do with Jeremy not being there and I was scared if I left the ring with crazy-green-pepper-guy would lose it or damage it, so I walked out in the context I would contact Jeremy and be another trip but he would take care of it, I then walked outside and stopped and came back in to reinforce this ring is still way too lose and doesn't appear to be resized at all-he said oh that's just the cold weather which of course is insane in multiple contexts least of which I was just inside with the same issue, one doesn't like like to knock an older family member but all that came out of his mouth was either A-gibberish or B-a blatant lie (????)....next few weeks I contact Jeremy 2 more times and set up to once again go back in and meet during his normal posted business hours and smartly by now based on a series of twilight zone episodes I contact again right before I leave or change in process driving, both times Jeremy contacts me back saying he won't be there (????)....then the next time I try and I call x days later absolutely he will be there the next day during his normal posted business hours and the next day right before I leave I call again and he says yes he's there and will be there until his closing time (good lord heard that before), I get there and "drum roll please" he is not there but crazy-green-pepper-guy is (???) unbelievable-I just called 20 minutes earlier to verify (????), and it takes 5 minutes of asking to get out of crazy-green-pepper-guy that Jeremy left to pick up his kid and I never really get a time line on when he will be back (????), now the added insanity to all of this is to wait in my car for a few minutes, after a few minutes Jeremy arrives I follow in, I have to wait a bit (no explanation or multiple apologies given), at this point I'm like my god this is full blown multiple screw ups and wasting so much of time crazyville, I just want to get it now minimally human being ring usable and get out of there, I do not tell him that I have had the ring looked at and they say there is no micro history of the ring being resized recently, so Jeremy says a couple ring guards should work, he snaps a couple on in a couple minutes it doesn't seem too bad and I get out of this insane asylum, problem found out later there is going to some swelling because of that knuckle and you don't know what you have/fit until the next day and guess what it's still too human being unusable loose (told with ring guards it's off and on finding the sweet spot as far how many)... how all this started is I have had too many surgeries in the last year to count and all the jewelry has to come off and I am now presently recovering much delayed after last one, so I text Jeremy ring still too loose and the back story surgeries and present status....what I want is A--next time I can get in there for Jeremy to actually be there when he says he will be there, B--an apology for all this deception and all the extra time I've wasted, C--full refund/credit for a ring that was never resized, D--enough more or larger or adjustments to the ring guards to just make the ring human being wearable , if not A-D it's not going to be pretty when I get to this again. from multiple sources including state attorney generals office who unfortunately working on something else for me...I would for now via text or email or voice mail asap B & C, verify a refund check or credit timeline and an apology Patrick S
