I had to turn back around and drive another 3.5 hrs back home. She did not even say "let's use your deposit towards another future class" or "Let ne refund your deposit gif such an inconvenience " I found her to be greedy and not understanding of the situation at all. You also need to bring all of your own supplies. Meaning not just your machine but pigments and needles. So be prepared to carry everything from your work into Brooklyn, walk a distance and lug it up mara it's to a studio without an elevator (which I also inquired about). Sign up at your own discretion. I rarely leave bad reviews but feel the professionalism could have went above and beyond. If she was willing to send a deposit back I most likely would have visited for other trainings. I finally found Jesse through a friend and my hair has been so much happier. The salon is right by the Highline so you can explore before or after. There's a coffee shop next door too. But pro tip - get some sparkling wine from the salon while you get your hair done. That with the candy spread they have, it's just a pampered wonderland! Recently in between highlights Jesse has been doing smudges which prolongs the highlight growth and literally smudges color to your roots to blend it all in. I've also tried woven extensions by Jesse. They looked fabulous, and I've never had that much hair in my life but I'm excited that they're being turned into clip-ins for easy removal. There are a number of other stylists as well as Michael himself that you can see. They also have a makeup artist and do nails as well. She commences to tell me that the reason for the email confirmation delay is because they have to do it "manually". What does that even mean, "manually"???? Are they not working with a booking tool that generates a confirmation number??? I am so confused and frustrated and very concerned about the operation of this facility. The service out the gate is UNSATISFACTORY. After a long hold Helen confirms my email address and tells me she will send me an email confirmation momentarily. It's now 1 hour shy of 12hrs since I booked my appointments this afternoon and still no confirmation. As I explained to Helen, the appointments are for my mother and aunt who are visiting NYC for Christmas. It would be very disappointing to have them arrive and the bookings not be confirmed. From reading the other reviews, it is OBVIOUS that this spa should simply be avoided! How is it this spa is associated with a a Kimpton brand? Kimpton needs to remedy this. When I called to reserve my appointment, I was told there was a bit of a wait as they were booked up, so same day reservations were not available. I also learned because of the deal I had purchased that I needed to use both treatments together, and could not be separated on different days. So I booked the "Rock N Relax" massage (which is a Hot Stone Massage) and the "Man About Town" facial (facial for men). My aesthetician was Icelean, and my masseuse was Sophia. Both provided truly outstanding services. They were professional, listened to my needs, provided information about the products they were using on my skin (for the facial), were chatty when the session warranted, but also allowed me to relax in silence with the relaxing music in the background while they did their work - providing a truly spectacular experience overall. Both were very respectful and allowed for privacy at the right moments. My treatments themselves were as expected, if not exceeded my expectations. With the mess of the subways that day, I was slightly later to my appointment than was requested, and they were happily able to accommodate. During my massage, she gladly mix in Swedish techniques along with the Hot Stones per my request, as well as focusing on trouble areas when asked. I couldn't have asked for any better treatments. The Spa at Eventi space itself is quite small, and only has three treatment rooms. Only one of them is used for aesthetic treatments, but can be doubled as a massage room. The rooms and the facilitiy are beautifully decorated and overall provides a relaxing environment - two of the rooms face the outside and while sunlight is allowed in, it is muted just enough. Additionally, the spa at the Eventi provides lockers, changing rooms and showers - all very modern and clean - and to give you the privacy you need as necessary. If someone asked if I would return, I would absolutely say yes. However, given some of the past reviews, it seems it really depends on your treatment providers. Some of the providers work here and at other Kimpton hotels like the ink48. That said, I can't wait to come back for another treatment again soon! Thanks Spa at Eventi for such a great experience!
