My experience with this spa has been so unprofessional and I haven't even arrived! How is this spa associated with the Kimpton brand!!?? How is that I booked two messages at 12pm this afternoon and 30mins later still had not received a confirmation via email? I call back 30 mins later and I'm told by the woman who took my appointment that she's very busy and will send it as soon as possible. 7 hours later I still don't have an email confirmation. I call the spa and a different woman (Helen) is all vague about whether or not my appointment is even in the system --It's a yes or no question, Helen. She commences to tell me that the reason for the email confirmation delay is because they have to do it "manually". What does that even mean, "manually"???? Are they not working with a booking tool that generates a confirmation number??? I am so confused and frustrated and very concerned about the operation of this facility. The service out the gate is UNSATISFACTORY. After a long hold Helen confirms my email address and tells me she will send me an email confirmation momentarily. It's now 1 hour shy of 12hrs since I booked my appointments this afternoon and still no confirmation. As I explained to Helen, the appointments are for my mother and aunt who are visiting NYC for Christmas. It would be very disappointing to have them arrive and the bookings not be confirmed. From reading the other reviews, it is OBVIOUS that this spa should simply be avoided! How is it this spa is associated with a a Kimpton brand? Kimpton needs to remedy this. FULL DISCLOSURE: I used a Groupon. I purchased an 80-minute and 50-minute treatment. And I had a GREAT time. When I called to reserve my appointment, I was told there was a bit of a wait as they were booked up, so same day reservations were not available. I also learned because of the deal I had purchased that I needed to use both treatments together, and could not be separated on different days. So I booked the "Rock N Relax" massage (which is a Hot Stone Massage) and the "Man About Town" facial (facial for men). My aesthetician was Icelean, and my masseuse was Sophia. Both provided truly outstanding services. They were professional, listened to my needs, provided information about the products they were using on my skin (for the facial), were chatty when the session warranted, but also allowed me to relax in silence with the relaxing music in the background while they did their work - providing a truly spectacular experience overall. Both were very respectful and allowed for privacy at the right moments. My treatments themselves were as expected, if not exceeded my expectations. With the mess of the subways that day, I was slightly later to my appointment than was requested, and they were happily able to accommodate. During my massage, she gladly mix in Swedish techniques along with the Hot Stones per my request, as well as focusing on trouble areas when asked. I couldn't have asked for any better treatments. The Spa at Eventi space itself is quite small, and only has three treatment rooms. Only one of them is used for aesthetic treatments, but can be doubled as a massage room. The rooms and the facilitiy are beautifully decorated and overall provides a relaxing environment - two of the rooms face the outside and while sunlight is allowed in, it is muted just enough. Additionally, the spa at the Eventi provides lockers, changing rooms and showers - all very modern and clean - and to give you the privacy you need as necessary. If someone asked if I would return, I would absolutely say yes. However, given some of the past reviews, it seems it really depends on your treatment providers. Some of the providers work here and at other Kimpton hotels like the ink48. That said, I can't wait to come back for another treatment again soon! I went to this hotel spa ONLY to follow my Massage Therapist/Esthetician Alisha there, and I forgot I was even in the city during the treatment...seriously. I had a scrub/massage, followed by a facial. My skin felt brand new from head to toe, the refresher facial included a "Hot Hand Treatment" which I noticed after I twitched and woke myself up. I have never fallen asleep during a treatment before, but this treatment made me feel it was beyond my control. She took her time with me as always, now if only I can get my schedule under control to see her every week!! My boyfriend even complimented my skin when I got home, which was a first! Go to this Spa, even if you aren't staying at the hotel! So worth it. read more

Most UNSPA like experience ever! I am usually not one to write reviews but this awful experience warranted one so I can warn others. The idea of a massage for me is that it should be relaxing for both the body and the mind .... this was neither. My masseuse was just OK and to top it all their SPA had no relaxing music (when I asked I was told their system is broken - haven't they heard of portable music players!) topped off by a really loud and annoying ticking sound from the clock in the room and a recurring thumping from the gym right next door! For the price I paid this was a COMPLETE disappointment .... there is no option to give no stars so I am forced to give a one star rating. read more

Absolutely horrible. DO NOT GO HERE. First of all: RUDE. I got a groupon for an 80 minute treatment and a 50 minute treatment -- it was not a cheap groupon, and I decided to splurge for my birthday. I spent a lot of time picking out my treatments. However, I went into the treatment room and the therapist (her name is Christina) proceeded to give me some kind of treatment that included an 80min massage, but wasn't what I had booked. At the end, I asked her about the fact that I got a different treatment and she got angry and rude about it, saying she gave me an 80 minute massage, what more did I want? I then asked if I could take a shower and she, again rudely said: we are about to close, if you have to take one, you better make it fast. Really!?!!? This is an upscale hotel with a spa, and THIS is how you treat clients? Second of all, DISHONEST and vindictive: Needless to say, though I did leave a tip, it wasn't as generous as she had hoped, and in the flustered moment I left my phone at the spa. I realized it immediately, when I was on the elevator, so went back to recover it only a minute later. The phone was gone. There were only Christina and the receptionist Sophia in the spa. I asked them if I could call my phone and politely asked Christina, who had laughed meanly when I had come back for the phone, to stay while we called it. She refused and left, which seemed suspicious. Sophia, who was actually kind and patient, let me use the computer to initiate "find my iphone." However, the app said that my phone had been turned off. Again, very suspicious since I had not turned my phone off, meaning someone else must have done it. There were only two robes that had been used that day, and of course the one I wore was right on top. Sophia and I checked the pockets of both robes, and no phone. Because I didn't shower, I had not used a towel but we checked through them as well. When I called back the next day to follow up with the manager, she said that my claim was impossible. Saying that perhaps it was one of the cleaning staff. She did not apologise, and she did not take responsibility. A spa is a place that is supposed to relax and renew -- service should be utmost, as should the well being and happiness of the client. It is the opposite at the Eventi Spa. I also am appalled that she would resort to blaming the cleaning staff -- a cheap shot if ever there was one. There were only the three of us in the spa at the time the phone was stolen, and not one of them was the cleaning staff. **Today, the owner messaged me (as you can see below), not to apologize but to basically tell me I have no right to claim what I have claimed. Saying that I am the one who lost the phone. I know that this is absolutely not true-- but regardless, the owner should take responsibility not only for the shadiness of this incident but also for the rudeness of how I was treated. What kind of spa is this?*** The owner also referred to my "personal" facebook page (as I had posted a comment to my friends about the very upsetting and dramatic incident), which almost seems like veiled threat. Very unsettling. Stay far far away from this spa. UPDATE: The only apology that I received was directly from The Eventi Hotel, which is part of the Kimpton Hotel Group. Though the spa is separately owned, they took responsibility, demonstrating the upstanding integrity that Kimpton stands for. Though I am wholly disappointed in the spa, the graciousness with which the hotel has reacted, redeems and supports my respect for the Kimpton brand and its hotels. It is incredible what a difference a simple apology makes, and the acknowledgement of distress. Thank you, Eventi Hotel! I would never in a million years be able to afford this place on my salary, so I got the Groupon deal - one 50 minute treatment and one 25 minute treatment. When I called to book my session the first time, I got a very bored-sounding person who didn't want to answer any of my questions, rushed through his explanations, and kept complaining about the "bad connection" before it cut off. Not sure what his problem was, but I called back and was able to book a session with no further problems. On the day of my appointment, I arrived 15 minutes before the session, as directed. I was a little concerned, because I sat there for nearly 20 minutes with no one around the reception desk or answering my phone calls. Finally, I got through, and Sophia came out to apologize that a prior appointment had run long. When I did get to change into my robe and lie down on the massage table, the room they put me in was FREEZING. Not just cold, absolutely sub-zero, to the point where I was shivering and needed two more blankets over me. From that moment, though, everything went rather well. Sophia was an amazing masseuse, very sweet and helpful when it came to turning up the heat on the table and working on my trouble spots. She made sure to gently ask if a particular technique or pressure was all right, and suggested certain techniques to request for future massages. Mellie did my facial, and she was also wonderful. She explained each step of the facial, and piled on ANOTHER blanket when she felt how cold it was in the room. Overall, I'm very satisfied with both the Groupon and the services rendered. If I could afford to pay full price, I would return to Spa @ Eventi, but since I can't, I urge anyone who enjoys being pampered to go here. Just make sure they don't put you in the back room with the freezing-cold air conditioner. read more

I'm pretty sure the person that was doing my massage was on their phone during the foot massage. I had to ask them to do something different, other than wiping the top of my feet with the wet towel. And when I inquired about the discount for Kimpton reward members, the lady checking me out was pretty dismissive and definitely not helpful. Turns out, Kimpton does not own this spa so the rewards do not apply, but perhaps they should, and hire staff that is a little more professional and understands the concept of customer service. read more

Nice enough little spa in an pretty hotel. The spa uses Kerstin Florian products, and they are actually not ridiculously priced. Everyone that I have met in the spa and hotel were all very accomodating and knowledgable. Since I live in NYC, I will keep coming back to get my skin care products here! read more

I took advantage of the Groupon and did the Rock and Relax hot stone massage and Refresher facial. The massage was great. My masseuse Margaret listened to my needs and tension spots and relieved pain. My facial was not what was described. I was supposed to receive a facial plus hand and shoulder massage. I only received a basic facial which was nice, but didn't receive the extra services either. Not sure if this is because I had a groupon or what but it did not meet my expectations. Terrible terrible terrible. What a waste of an evening and even more so money. Worst massage I have had in my life. The woman was completely unqualified, did not know what she was doing. Massage Envy is a thousand times better. I did the Groupon of a facial and massage. The facial was ok, my skin doesn't feel too different afterwards unfortunately. I was a few minutes late and I'd hope she would make up the 3-4 minutes as she didn't have an appointment straight after, but she didn't. Not very accommodating. The massage was more like someone just rubbing oil onto my skin, not massaging, for 80 minutes. I actually felt creeped out for the first 20 minutes lying there half naked with the sheet pulled down below my butt crack. When she did apply pressure it was usually in the wrong spots and caused a lot of pain. Today I have a bruise on my leg!!! She put gloves on for the foot massage, fine, but it took 5 minutes to put those things on! At the end she gave a hair massage for 5 mins which was just her slightly stroking my hair. Weird. This place was awesome, very clean and professional! I got a groupon for an 80 minute massage and a 50 minute facial. The rock and roll massage by Sophia was excellent and super relaxing. It was also very nice because Sophia was very nice at making sure I was comfortable with the heat of the stones. I then got the Dew Drop facial by Alisha, it was only my second facial and she was so sweet and talked me through the process, she was also very great and gentle with the extraction process. I went to Eventi Spa for a deep cleaning and extraction and although I had read pretty good reviews on their facial, I really didn't know what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised with the results of my facial. Karalyn worked on my skin and started with a very relaxing massage before starting the extraction which made a big difference. My facial was followed by everything from clarifying serum to correcting eye treatment which literally diminished my dark circles and wrapped up with a wonderful revitalizing face, neck and back massage. It was 50 minutes of bliss....I will definitely be going back! read more

The whole session was just confusing. The person who booked my appointment didn't seem excited to be on the phone in the first place and when I got to the spa I realized the had me down for the wrong time and the wrong service. So that caused confusion with the staff. The facility is really tiny. The lockers are at the end of the hallway outside the massage rooms. It makes no sense. Might as well just get undressed in the massage room. I had a facial and I hate it when the aesthetician just applies all the product and doesn't explain what it is or what it does. It was very relaxing but I have no idea what she used on me. Due to the confusion in the scheduling the massage was therapeutic but not relaxing. I went here with my sister on a Saturday 6pm. I bought groupon for 50 min facial and 80 minute massage originally at ink48 at 130pm.Saturday however they called Friday evening and said had a leak would need to reschedule at eventi or ink48 another day. We decided eventi 6pm because we planned to have appointment that day. Atmosphere: spa is tucked in back of 5th floor next to the gym. Took elevators up walked in. No locker room and really no relaxing waiting area. There are two chairs and was quite with relaxing spa music. We filled out paperwork which was quick and then changed in bathroom/ changing area put our clothes in lockers which require pin code so safe. The robes were nice and they provided sandals. Were taken into spa rooms which were fine and tables have a warmer which is a must. Room temp was comfy. Massage: I had Sophia and at first glance she is small and slender so honestly didn't expect great pressure especially for 80 min. However I was pleasantly surprised! She was fantastic and asked me my trouble spots and actually spent a good amount of time on them. She was fantastic. I only wish they used some aromatic oils like lavender etc make a bit more relaxing. Facial: Molly gave me facial. She was good and super friendly. I have had better but I really can't complain. She used steam and black head extraction. Both her and Sophia kept place open until almost 9pm and we never felt rushed. I don't think I will be back because I usually like a spa with a more overall relaxed feel and prices are high if not through groupon. I like to have a steam room or sauna for these prices. But Sophia wonderful. Go see her if staying in hotel and want a massage at end of your day then can relax in your room. read more

This place is like heaven! I arrived 15 minutes before my appointment and when I arrived from my exhausting trip people there are so accommodating. They had a great customer service and a very sweet and gentle masseuse who got all the tied knot my body. The next thing i tried is their facial treatment and it is worth every single penny i paid! Never i felt so good and relaxed in my entire life being at their place. I did booked my second appointment to them and told them i had a great time. The place is so relaxing and very peaceful. Rude receptionist answering the phone who didn't seem to know what she was doing. confirmed when I called back that she had booked the wrong treatment on the wrong day. Massage was sub par. I gave this spa 3 chances, massage, scrub and facial, on threw different days. each time is worse than the last. Don't waste your money coming here, the staff are rude and don't care about your relaxation. I experienced one of the best massages I've had in a long time. Christina was absolutely amazing! I had a body scrub treatment and a massage. She was very attentive while paying close attention to my most tense areas. Before my treatment began, she offered me tea and explained what my services entailed. I just found my new go-to spa whenever I need a massage. Last Wednesday, I was talking to my friend about my mom's birthday, and I told her that I'm planning to bring her to a Spa as a gift. She recommended the Spa at Eventi Hotel and gave me the number. I immediately called and booked for two. We went there on Saturday, When we got there the receptionist offered us a groupon 80 minute treatment and a 50 minute treatment, we had a 50 minute foot massage and 80 minute full body massage. The place is nice, clean, very cozy and relaxing. The staffs are very welcoming and I bet 100% you'll be satisfied with their service.The place is not that spacious, but for me it's perfect because we went there for the massage the service and to relax and We are really satisfied, worth every penny. By the way we paid using credit card, but I advice you guys to pay with cash you'll save more by doing that. All in all this is a really great place for relaxation and a good massage the masseuse are very friendly they often ask if the pressure is just right and they really know what they are doing. After our experience I bought my mother some anti aging products. When we got home She told me that she hope we don't need to wait for her next birthday to come to go back at the Spa at Eventi Hotel again. This was the single worst spa experience of my life. Extremely disappointing as I stay almost exclusively with Kimptons. The woman who gave the massage was terrible - to the point I felt sorry for her. She clearly does not enjoy her job. She was distracted so much that I wondered if she was watching a tv that I couldn't see. After my massage there were no clean showers. And I mean, they had very clearly been used. So there I was covered in massage oil after a bad massage putting on my jeans. Finally, to top it off, she gave me my receipt with a handwritten note with suggested tips. I did not tip. Franky, I should not have paid. It was a terrible experience. Do not go here. My husband and I had a better walk-in 30 min massage in Chinatown for $20 a person. Do that! read more

I visited the Spa at Eventi for a 50 minute massage and 50 minute skin-specific facial. I arrived a few minutes late but the receptionist/therapist was very nice about it and I received the full amount of massage time. The ambiance is very relaxing, the massage was pretty good (I almost fell asleep!) but the facial was really great and highly recommended. Frequently after I get facials, my skin may break out, but not after this one. My face glowed for days afterward. read more
