The owner of this establishment was very rude, she definitely could use some lessons in courtesy. All of the artwork was beautiful and a few things I would have purchased but did not solely based on how we were treated. I really wanted to give this lovely gallery 5 stars. I really appreciate all the local artwork and the woman working there was very friendly when I stopped in yesterday. I bought a lovely, delicate ceramic votive, locally made. She offered to pack it up for me and hold it while I continued to shop around town. I came back for it an hour later and it was in a bag waiting for me. When I got it home and unpacked I saw that she wrapped it in only one layer of light brown paper and just stuck it in a paper bag. Of course, it was broken. I've had better packing jobs done at a Goodwill. I would have loved to give this shop a higher rating, but gallery worker should have taken much greater care in wrapping this. It was truly a piece of art and handled much too casually. It was an oversight that never should have happened. This was my last trip to Seaside --have been visiting for over 30 years and this was my goodbye gift to myself before I relocate cross country. I'm really disappointed by this. read more

When I saw the prior review it compelled me to say something. Denise at Fairweather is one of the most genuine and sincere people I have ever met. She has always struck me as a gentle and kind soul. I own a few business' in Seaside and I go there to get gifts for friends such as jewelry from local artists. She has one of the nicest shops in our community and is incredible at picking and choosing artists that do things that are good for our earth as well as our eyes. Everything in her shop is unique and her displays are always an inspiration to me. I do not know what the bad review was about and I don't believe a word of it. Visited this lovely gallery on a rainy day. It is probably the nicest shop on Broadway with local art. The theme for the works was "waves" and most of the paintings and photographic works were chosen to follow this theme. There are glass and wood pieces, lovely design gift books and throw pillows, etc. The owner was very nice. read more

The gallery itself is very limited and the art looks like something I could purchase anywhere. The owner is very rude and although she seems pleasant on the outside, she Angers EASILY if you don't purchase something. I think her clients are strictly a PAY CHECK for her. I would recommend taking your money and business elsewhere. Don't be fooled. I have seen her in action several times after the customer leaves the shop, she speaks badly about them. read more

I was gifted a purse from this store but it's not really my style so I wanted to see if I could exchange it or get store credit and was told no. I get that the artist has already been paid but I even asked if I could exchange for the same artist and was still rudely told no. She tried to make it seem that they didn't carry my style purse any more as well but my friend looked and found the exact same purse I had been gifted. She suggested I donate to goodwill and get a $150 tax credit. I found that to be rather insulting. I was gifted a brand new $150 purse from this store and was told to basically give it away for a tax credit instead of exchange it for something I could actually use. I bet the actual artist would have been more accommodating. I would recommend going to a different boutique or purchasing directly from the artist. read more

My Darling Husband, of Over 12 + Years, and myself like to look at the Artwork in this Gallery. I was told a Couple of Times by the Woman who is the Clerk, and possibly the Owner of the Gallery... that All of the Pieces are Originals. We previously purchased Two Painted Rocks here. They are Very Beautifully Painted. My Husband and I both agreed... that they would look Good in Our Condominium. We have also purchased Painted Glass Earrings. They are Stunning, especially when the Light hits them. They are Navy, Shimmery Copper, and Fuchsia Swirled. We haven't been disappointed with any of Our Purchases here over the Years. We were told recently, that an Artist was going to give a Lecture there soon.... and that the Gallery Space was going to have LOTS of People in it. I met the Artist that will be giving the Lecture, and I asked what his Lecture was about.... he said he hadn't Written it, yet. read more

LIAR, LIAR, LIAR! I purchased what I thought was a screaming deal on an original watercolor. I was ASSURED of its authenticity. When I got home I took a closer look and noticed very tiny dots consistent with a printer. I took the piece out of its frame and sure enough, it was a cheap copy; you could even see the line where the printer cut off! As I was leaving the proprietor even gave me this whole spiel about how it was rice paper and to keep it out of direct sunlight! She promised me they only hung originals in their gallery, but here I am with a $0.10 copy in a $10 frame (maybe). It is NOT signed, there is no number, and I payed $90. I understand the concept of starving artists, my grandparents are supported by my single mother of two because they couldn't hack it, but an 800% markup on a piece I'd have to lie about to get $20 out of (which I will never do!) is unacceptable! I am trying to support local artist by buying original work when I can. Cheating people out of $79.90 is wrong, but that money would've gone to another artist who was honest about their work. Truly, there was a gallery across the street where I almost purchased a piece that was unquestionably original, you cheated not only me, but that gallery and artist out of a legitimate sale.
