    Crooked Mile

We absolutely love this place! My daughter is 15 months old and she has a great time! We got a membership, $65 and I can bring another adult. Kids under 2 are free, 2 and over are $10 which I think is very reasonable!! It does get warm so I would recommend coming in the morning. They added on an indoor space/story center that has a stage, costumes, a fish tank, books, coloring corner etc. It's nice to take a break in the ac! They have farm animals, a playground, lots of slides, a garden your kids can water, plenty of bench's, tables, water fountains. My daughter will be able to go here easily for the next five years. I would say this is age appropriate for toddlers. Would recommend coming here if you're thinking about it! It's in Land Park which is a huge park with ponds and lots of geese. There are two beautiful gardens walking distance too which is also a plus! The staff is really nice and friendly and it seems like everyone is happy to be there. I don't blame them! It's a feel good place!

Kids love it here! Great place to get some energy out of the kids. They evens have some animals to view here. It's not too big but big enough to entertain the kids for a good while. There is also an are you can draw, play with toys, and read books. Tickets are $10 and kids under 2 are free.

Brought our little one here, and it was a great experience from start to finish. The whole park is designed around classic fairy tales, with well-built play areas like King Arthur's Castle, Jack and the Beanstalk, and the Crooked Mile. Every section has something fun for kids to climb, slide, or explore, and it's all in a safe, enclosed space. The place is clean, well-maintained, and has plenty of shaded seating for parents to relax while the kids burn off energy. The small farm animals, like donkeys and sheep, give it an extra touch that keeps kids engaged. Admission is affordable, and parking is easy. If you have young kids, this is one of the best spots in Sacramento. We'll definitely be coming back.

I've been getting membership here for a few years now. The breakeven point is 4 visits so it's worth it if you plan on going a few times a year. Membership comes with 2 free guest passes and discounts on drinks. This is a great place for young kids. It's like a giant playground. There is a limited age range that this would appeal most to which is around 2-8 years old. I first took my son here when he was 2 years old and he was too young and only went on one of the small slides. So far at 4 years old has been the optimal age and he's been able to do all the slides and activities and asks to go every week. There's themes throughout the year. My son loved "talk like a pirate" day with all the pirate themed crafts. There are small animal enclosures here with tortoise, pigs, goats, pony, cow, and sheep. There is a small food court with ice cream, shaved ice, nachos, hot dogs, corn dogs, pretzel, and some snacks for the little ones such as string cheese and pb&j snacks.

such a charming gem for families with young kids! The park brings classic nursery rhymes and fairytales to life with adorable themed play areas like the Crooked Mile, the Jack and Jill hill, and the Three Little Pigs' brick house (which my kids ran in and out of at least 20 times!). It's not a flashy theme park, but that's part of its charm--it's more nostalgic and imaginative than commercial. My kids had a blast climbing, exploring, and pretending, and I loved watching them unplug and dive into simple, creative pl

First time coming here with my kids and they loved it! My son was obsessed with the treehouse slide. Enough space for the little ones to run around. There was a small area with barn animals. Good amount of shade and sitting areas.

My kids had a blast at the spring egg-stravaganza event. They picked Easter eggs, played on the slides, built blocks, and played with bubbles. They were able to pick either 2 small prizes or a large prize in exchange for the egg hunting. My kids selected finger lights and small legos. There could have been better prizes for the cost of admission.

Went for my daughters birthday party, she turned 4. It just didn't have anything really fun for her to do. A few things here and there were fun but we paid $9 to be in there like 30 minutes. We moved through the place like it was about to close. The animals would have to be the best attraction for my daughter because it was up close and personal and what kid doesn't like seeing animals. Of course she wanted to take one home. I just think Funderland may have been a better choice because it has rides for the kids, Fairytale Town doesn't.

Reasonably priced fun for young kids. I'd say age 3-7 years old is the perfect age for this place. We went with a 3, 4, and 6 year old and they loved it. We stayed for almost 4.5 hours! Most of the playing areas are outdoors, but there is an indoor reading rainbow house that has books, coloring, and dry erase boards. Surprisingly, our group spent more than an hour just in that reading house. Multiple areas with water fountains, restrooms, and there's also a concession stand if you need to buy food or snacks.

Adorable location for children to play . It's been redone, remodeled and looks very inviting for kids.

Ask the Community - Fairytale Town

Would this be a good place to bring a 14 month old?

Hi Lydia! We often have guests under two visit our park. We have animals and plants that little ones find exciting and stimulating. Plus, guests under two pay no admission. We hope to see you!

Is this geared more for little kids or for teens?

Good for toddlers and young school aged kids

Looking for places to throw my son's first birthday party, it will be end of July or beginning of August. We know it will be hot so we are looking for a place that has A/C, does your King Arthur Castle have air conditioning?

    Yes, it does.

I would like to have my daughter's 5th birthday celebration at fairy tale town, is there a separate, covered area for us to have a party?

Yes - They have a "castle" - a small banquet room styled like King Arthurs round table. They do parties in there.

Can I bring in my own food?

Hi Tiesha, Yes, you can bring food and beverages into the park. Pre-prepared food and non-alcoholic beverages are permitted. Alcoholic beverages and barbecuing are not permitted in the park. Please let us know if we can help with anything else!

The teachers here are amazing! My middle schooler even had a teacher from his old public school, which was super helpful since he planed to go back to public high school later. This kept him on track (and even ahead) with what he needed to know. Something that I love is that the kids are outside ALL THE TIME! They have class outside, eat lunch outside, and do pretty much everything outside unless the weather is really bad. In summer, they sit under shady trees with nice breezes. In winter, they bundle up with jackets and blankets near space heaters. It reminds me of how European kids spend way more time outdoors instead of being stuck inside all day. My kids have learned tons and made great friends here. If you've read the book "Wild and Free," this school follows that idea perfectly. Kids learn, play, and grow at their own speed. Even if your kids go to regular school, Wild Roots has awesome summer camps that cost less than a babysitter! The kids learn cool stuff while having fun outside. I tell everyone looking for homeschool help around Folsom to check out Wild Roots. It's been such a great place for my family!

The above quote came to mind when I recently visited "Elk Grove Space 4 Art" at the new location 2350 Maritime Drive, Elk Grove, CA. 95758. Phone 916-209-0283. The interior setup reminded me off that philosophy. Starting at one side of the studio, going around the building, again meeting up at the beginning, starting all over, forming a "Circle of Art" never to end. Dedicated rooms, for the many facets of Art. Drawing, Painting, Ceramics, and many more activities. Starting at 5yrs old, also and a great place for adults interested in expanding their interest in Art and or improving their skills. I found the visit, the personal tour from Jezebel, a most pleasant, and impressive experience. Going in, I think we were expecting something a little more free flowing and open creatively, more of an environment where there wasn't really a right or wrong way to create and kids could fully lean into their own ideas and style. What we found was that the class felt a bit more structured than we were personally looking for. That's not necessarily a bad thing at all, and I could definitely see how that style would work really well for kids who prefer more guidance and direction. It just ended up not being the best fit for my daughter's personality and the kind of creative environment we were hoping for. Everyone was nice, and the space itself was welcoming, it just ultimately wasn't quite the art experience we had envisioned for her. Helpful tip: If your child enjoys more structured instruction and guided projects, this may be a really good fit. If they prefer a more open-ended creative style, it's probably worth asking questions about the class format beforehand. Unfortunately it just didn't end up being the right fit for us personally.
