I ended up being there for nearly 4 hours waiting for new tires to be put on my car, while they were very apologetic regarding how long it was and that a technician had called out. I understood as the staff was very polite and friendly.but waiting nearly 4 hours was unacceptable. When you only have so much time off, you plan everything out and this backed up my whole day I hope others have better luck on waiting times than I did.

I took my car to the Firestone on Granby Street for a Virginia state inspection, and my experience…read morewas extremely disappointing. The inspection itself took about 2 to 2 1/2 hours, which I had no issue with. The problems started when they called to tell me my car was ready. Over the phone, I was told it would cost around $1,100 in repairs for my car to pass inspection. I declined because I couldn't afford that and said I would get a second opinion. The employee immediately started offering financing. When I arrived to pick up my car, I was handed a printed estimate for over $2,500, not the $1,100 I had been quoted on the phone. That huge difference immediately made me question the accuracy of everything I had been told. Several of the issues they claimed my car had also didn't make sense based on very recent maintenance: * They told me my oil level was low, even though I had my oil changed less than a week earlier. * They said one of my brake lights was out, but it had been checked during my recent oil change and was working properly. * They recommended replacing my air filter, even though I had just been told it was only slightly dusty and didn't need replacement yet. * They claimed my car needed an alignment, even though I haven't experienced any signs that it does. On top of that, they removed my car key from my key ring and didn't even put it back. It may seem like a small thing, but it reflected the lack of care I experienced. The biggest disappointment was the customer service. The employee was friendly and welcoming when I dropped my car off, but after I declined the repairs, the attitude changed noticeably. I felt like I was treated differently simply because I chose not to have the work done there. I understand that vehicles can legitimately need repairs, and I always encourage people to maintain their cars. However, the inconsistent pricing, questionable inspection findings compared to very recent maintenance, poor customer service along side the unsettling reviews left me with very little confidence in this location. I would recommend getting a second opinion before agreeing to any major repairs suggested here. 0 stars if I could... they don't even deserve this 1.

They charged me $30 to look at t and provided an a free vehicle look over on other things. They let me know that it was indeed leaking and found an additional leak. They sent me a quote and I was flabbergasted at the price. The first original leak repair was quoted for $2,700. They did find another leak that would cost me an additional $1500 to repair . Way more than I was planning. I talked to a gearhead at my work and he said absolutely do not pay that. He said they do this to women, unfortunately. I talked to two other local shops who quoted me for everything on the original repair for $800 and $1100. Those quotes were for everything 17th Street was going to do for $2,700. I hate that companies do this. The icing on the cake was that when I drove my car home, I popped the hood and they didn't even attach the cover to the motor. It was just laying cockeyed on the top. It makes me question what else they didn't reinstall after looking over my car.

Completely unacceptable, frustrating experience…read more I paid $1,338 for front brakes and calipers, and within six months I was still having braking issues. When I returned, they replaced only one front rotor under warranty. After a third visit for the same braking noise/vibration, I was told the problem was my rear brakes, even though those had been replaced only three months earlier at another shop. I then went to three independent shops, and all confirmed the real issue was a warped front rotor (the one not replaced the second time I brought it in). This should've been fixed the second or third time I brought it in. Instead they shifted blame to another shop, in which their work was confirmed to be fine. And for the price I paid, I shouldn't have had to bring it in multiple times for the same issue. Still after three visits and over $1,300 spent, my issue was still not properly fixed. The only good thing about this experience was that it was under warranty, and another shop was able to fix my brakes properly. I would strongly recommend getting a second opinion before trusting this shop, and if possible save your time and go elsewhere.

I know that and the car had been running and passing inspection since it was built. This auto repair shop saw a lady with out of state plates and maybe believed I didn't know anything about my car or wasn't instructed about cars, told me my whole passenger side tail light needed replacing. There's absolutely nothing wrong with the housing . Thing is Im aware about scions and I know that if it didn't come from the factory and the car has passed many times in the USA before then it's optional. I just needed to pass inspection in Virginia. I refused the offer, they got argumentative almost offended. I thanked them for their service of changing my other lights that's out and came back to my car to find a rejected sticker inside my windshield. Then I noticed a big scratch on the inside of my trunks plastic where the taillight housing is- hmmm. So basically if I don't let them rake me over the coals I get a rejection sticker huh and damage? I changed my own taillights later on and passed inspection the next day! No thank you.

He asked me if I called other shops (I should've hung up on him). What kind of a shop doesn't do ball joints??? He finally agreed to take a look at the car. He made a big fuss that he would have to replace the lower control arms to replace the ball joints. WRONG! The ball joints are separate from the lower control arms on that specific Toyota. What an amateur!! It took him 2 days to change 2 ball joints & 1 tie rod. Then, I had to get an alignment somewhere else. A week later, I heard a noise coming from the front driver's side wheel. I took it back to the place who did the alignment & they showed me that the wheel bearing was damaged. Since JT & his crew had to take off the wheel & steering knuckle, I had no doubt that he destroyed the wheel bearing. It doesn't stop there - he didn't even secure 1 of the ball joints to the control arm. I would NEVER EVER go back & deal with this idiot JT. He gave me a sob story that he downsized after COVID & only does small jobs. Meanwhile, his sign says "We Do It All". Because of him, I fix my car myself.
