Chewed right through the wiring harness
    Brianne J.

While my husband is deployed a little squirrel decided to make a home out of his truck.. who knew they liked the sweet taste of wiring and that in the engine would be a great place to build a nest. The communication was great as far as letting me know what was going on and what they were finding as they took the truck apart. They even took the time to tell me how I could deter these little creatures from nesting again (moth balls, who knew!).. I think the pricing was reasonable for the fact they had to remove the remains of poor squirrel !!! Thanks guys!

They overcharged for some stuff that we never had problems with like headlights and now all of a sudden the tail lights go out a week after leaving here. These morons didn't even put the oil cap back and my hood started smoking. They are not only idiots but crooks

    Confederate flag sticker.

It's really unfortunate because I really like the service I received, however, as I sat in the waiting room I noticed a confederate flag sticker in the garage that my car was being serviced in. I can't support a business that advertises this symbol in their establishment. I immediately felt uncomfortable and unwelcomed. I will not be returning.

    Great service!

Made the mistake a few weeks back of purchasing two used tires from another establishment because money was tight. My vehicle drove horribly immediately after pulling off the lot and the shop refused any further service without charging additional fees because I "failed to inspect my tires" before leaving the premises. The following day the right tire was flat and had a nail in it which I pulled out and plugged only to discover another metal object jutting out which I too removed and plugged. Long story short I spent the next 2 weeks driving a vehicle I didn't feel safe in and refused to bring on the interstate. This morning, with the arrival of payday, I began scrolling through yelp looking for another garage and any that had a negative review I scrolled passed because it was the one negative review of the last establishment that I ignored that I should've paid the most attention too. I came across Great Bridge Muffler&Brake and saw nothing but exemplary reviews. I called up and spoke to Jimmy who took the time to find me two quality new tires at a price that wouldn't break the bank. He achieved that and we set an appointment time of 2:30pm because the tires had to be ordered. Arrived on time, was greeted as I walked through the door and told the tires were waiting as promised. My vehicle was brought in and the work was performed the way it should've been done by the fly-by-night shop down the street, but hadn't been. I was fearful that I would need an alignment in order to get my car running a straight line again, but instead it took a good mechanic that properly balanced my tires unlike the last place that bragged about "custom installation!" I'll take proper installation over custom any day of the week because my car is running smooth down the highway again at interstate speeds. Lastly I asked a tech about an A/C service being that summer is creeping in again and low and behold it was Jimmy. He didn't try to sell me an expensive A/C service package instead he listened to what I told him about my vehicle and came up with his professional opinion which I believe to be just that professional. Although I couldn't get that work done today I will most certainly return for it in a couple weeks because I have found my new locally owned and operated mechanics shop nestled amongst the corporate auto repair big guys out in Great Bridge. Seriously people this is the place to go for vehicle service and maintenance. Thanks fellas!

Poor Communication and Unprofessional Customer Service:…read more I don't normally leave reviews, but I feel it's important to share my honest experience so others know what to expect. I originally spoke with someone named Chris earlier in the week about bringing in my vehicle for a diagnostic. He told me to "drop it off Wednesday," but no formal appointment was made -- no confirmation text, no email, no name taken, and nothing written down in front of me. Because of that, I assumed they were operating on a flexible drop-off basis, which is common with many repair shops. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to make it Wednesday due to being sick, so I dropped my car off early Thursday morning instead. Throughout the day, I called multiple times just to check whether they would be able to look at it. Each time, I was told nothing -- no update, no estimate, no clarity. I even told the front desk that if they couldn't get to it, I would gladly come pick it up so I wasn't taking up their space unnecessarily. When I finally spoke with Chris, the tone and attitude I received were extremely unprofessional. Rather than simply explaining that they were too busy to look at my vehicle, he blamed me repeatedly for them not being able to work on it -- even though no confirmed appointment was ever created, no system entry was made, and no communication was sent to me to establish a scheduled date. I acknowledged my mistake in not coming Wednesday or calling ahead, but the way the situation was handled was dismissive, rude, and lacked any basic customer service. A simple "We're booked today, we'll try for tomorrow" would have gone a long way. Instead, after leaving my car there all day with no updates, I received a message saying it was "ready for pickup" -- even though they never inspected it. The entire experience left me disappointed and feeling like my time and concerns weren't valued. I understand shops get busy and that I didn't arrive on the originally discussed day, but professionalism, communication, and courtesy should still be consistent. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here. I hope the shop takes this feedback seriously, because good service is as much about communication and respect as it is about repairs.

I had to jump it. So I came to this business requesting help and the older female was very short, very rude, and condescending while I explained my situation. Never asked for any information about me or my vehicle just asked that I leave it with no promise to get to it because they were " booked full" to which I could understand. But I could not do such a thing with a child at daycare and a husband at Work. I had no alternative mode of transportation to be sure that I would get my child at the end of his day or get to him in the event of an emergency. My issue is not getting service immediately. I in no way feel entitled to demand same-day service. It was the attitude of the individual that was really offputting for someone who is the face of the business when you walk in. Next, she became very frustrated with what I was explaining, and she said they would not be able to get to my vehicle until Thursday. Which I replied we will be out of town then. She then said something along the lines of I don't even know I can't help you anymore and directed me to the person sitting behind the computer who also said "I don't know either. I just got here." The business had been open for nearly an hour at that point, it was almost 9 AM. The entire interaction was discouraging and borderline demeaning. Additionally, these people don't know who I was they never asked for my name or anything and at this point, I still have not received any email back about scheduling a potential appointment for service. I went down the street to Firestone anyways, and was helped immediately but people much nicer who talked to me with empathy and respect. Something I did not receive at great bridge auto.

Completely unacceptable, frustrating experience…read more I paid $1,338 for front brakes and calipers, and within six months I was still having braking issues. When I returned, they replaced only one front rotor under warranty. After a third visit for the same braking noise/vibration, I was told the problem was my rear brakes, even though those had been replaced only three months earlier at another shop. I then went to three independent shops, and all confirmed the real issue was a warped front rotor (the one not replaced the second time I brought it in). This should've been fixed the second or third time I brought it in. Instead they shifted blame to another shop, in which their work was confirmed to be fine. And for the price I paid, I shouldn't have had to bring it in multiple times for the same issue. Still after three visits and over $1,300 spent, my issue was still not properly fixed. The only good thing about this experience was that it was under warranty, and another shop was able to fix my brakes properly. I would strongly recommend getting a second opinion before trusting this shop, and if possible save your time and go elsewhere.

I had a headlight out and am in the area for business so getting my car to a place to get it fixed…read morehasn't been easy. I have no one who can drive with me to drop my car off so I"m at the mercy of waiting in the lobby, which I really hate. However I saw this place across the street from my gym, Fitness 19, and they didn't look very busy. I went over and spoke to the guy about getting the headlight replaced. He quoted me $39. I said that sounded good and told him I was going to take a walk as it was nice out and I'd be back in 30 minutes. So 30 minutes I get back to the shop and he tells me the blinker light is out too and it's a bit more, like $20 more. I said ok, please replace that as well. At this point I'm just wanting to get going and get dinner. After about another 20-25 minutes he says my car is done. I had asked him to have the guys check the tires and see how good they looked as I wanted to make sure I had no problem driving back home to Columbus. He told me my tires looked very good and they would not need anything done to them. As I was driving away I did notice they had taken off my 2008 Virginia inspection tag, something I had requested they do as it is a pain to get off without one of their tools they use to remove them. Thankfully they did remember to remove it. My total cost was $75, which I thought was a bit high but they were very upfront about everything and gave me the option before doing anything so I can't fault them for that. This place seems pretty good, although perhaps you could find a place that's a bit more affordable than here to get a headlight replaced.

They misquoted how many quarts of oil the truck takes. $8.00 per quart of oil that is pumped out of a 55-gallon drum. Ridiculous prices and questionable knowledge of staff. Perfectly understandable why they can't get anyone to work there. This is my last visit (I have 7 vehicles in my immediate family that I maintain/help to maintain). Save yourself some dollars.
