Recently, I have had two bad experiences at this location. Both times it took 1 hour 45 minutes for dinner. They were extremely slow in serving beverages and appetizers. The waiter did not check on us for refills of our drinks. The guac was made with sour cream, not your typical guac. Customer service was poor as he was constantly in a rush and not friendly. If the restaurant cannot handle that many customers at one time, why keep seating more tables? My business will be going elsewhere. read more

Lately I've seen recipe changes in the direction of cheapness, the "guacamole" is more sour cream than avocado, Service was both rude and slow. I saw the ratings for this place on another Frederick website and decided to try it. I've been searching foreverrrrr for a great Mexican place in the area and this is the closest I've found. It's nothing fancy but it certainly is tasty, authentic and offers a wide variety of food. Much better than all the downtown Mexican impostors. I have been here about 10 times over a 6 month period. I go for their $5 lunch specials Monday-Friday 11-2pm. Entire menu is $5. Great deal, big portions. Tasty fresh salsa as an appetizer as well(free). Service is above average, tho not excellent. They get really busy during lunch hours, that's probably why. Restaurant is always clean, staff is usually enthusiastic and friendly. One if the best places to hit up in Frederick for lunch if your in the mood for Mexican food. read more

Absolutely worth the trip. I had the twice-grilled BBQ Chimi and it was excellent. My friend had the steak fajitas (which I tried) and was very pleased as well. The quality and selection of margaritas also gave us a pleasant surprise. Portions were great, service was excellent, facility was clean. I'll most definitely be back. Do yourself a favor and skip your usual Mexican restaurant (La Paz, Casa Rico, etc) and give this place a try - you won't be disappointed. read more

Wow, I can only speak for my experience and it was terrible. No silverware, dirty tables and plates should have been a sign but I stayed to try out the food based on previous reviews. The guac wasn't fresh, the rice was undercooked and the shrimp were old and smelled the moment they arrived at the table. I sent them back. Didn't want to get sick. Also took 20 mins to just get drinks. Nachos were gross too. Taco Bell would have been a better choice and that says a lot. Never returning. read more

I live in San Diego where we have Mexican food of all descriptions, from *berto's taco stands through expensive tourist traps in Old Town and everything in between. I've yet to find a place as good as this. Authentic flavors, inventive dishes and combos, and low prices - especially the $5 lunch specials. And unlike most of the hole-in-the-wall taco places in my town, you get to eat off of actual china plates, with actual metal utensils! If you're planning on driving past Frederick it's well worth skewing your travel time to be able to eat here - it is that good. read more

This is by far my favorite Mexican restaurant in Frederick. They have the best salsa, fajitas & margaritas. I always find it difficult not to eat too much because the food is so delicious. If you are looking for ambience this may not be the place for you as the decor is very simple & modest. But if you're just looking for great food I promise you won't be disappointed! read more

Fajita Grande is one of my favorite Mexican restaurants of all time, and most certainly the best Mexican restaurant in Frederick. The margaritas are yummy, the food is plentiful, inexpensive, and delicious. We generally have responsive and quick service. This is by far the best Mexican restaurant in Frederick. I highly recommend it. My favorite is the Chile Relleno, my son's in the Burrito Grande. Both are decadently fattening- portions are huge. Food always tastes fresh and delicious. Service is good. Decor leaves a little bit to desire and it's lot a very nice location- next to a liquor store and the Goodwill. . I've been to the fancier Mexican places in Frederick and while the decor may be nicer and the "scene" better- the food can't hold a candle to Fajita Grande. read more

This is a terrific place to eat. The lunch menu is especially good and economical. Service is fast and good is a nice size serving. Our office has had a few Christmas parties and a retirement party--they were good to work with and the bill didn't break the bank. The atmosphere could be a little more mexican--but is clean. Mexican food is my absolute favorite kind of food, per my friends, I'm a really picky eater. Fajita Grande in Frederick, MD is one of the best places I have ever eaten at. The amount of food they serve is amazing (for a very fair price for the consumer). Chips and salsa are provided with every visit on the house (with free refills on chips and salsa). The customer service is outstanding, they treat their customers with respect and like family. My fiancée and I go all the time, it's our favorite restaurant. read more

This is not Mexican food. There were not any Mexicans here, eating or working. There were brown people on staff but not Mexicans. I don't know what ethnicity they were but I think I saw a picture of Yassar Arafat on the wall. This is Mexican food I may have made for myself while in High school. I'm a white guy from Ohio. I've been to Mexico at least a half dozen times. This is not Mexican food. If you're a white person that thinks a taco is shredded beef, yellow cheese and sour cream on a crunchy shell, this is your place.
