Okay folks. Don't be deterred by the long lines. Usually the wait goes pretty quick. Take it as a good sign that it's so popular! If you can opt to sit out by the water when the sun goes down, it's remarkable ambiance! Grab yourself a frozen margarita or sangria and enjoy your quality time with your loved ones. Their fajitas are my favorite! The chicken Diablo is amazing! But we have yet to be disappointed with anything we get. Their customer service is usually awesome! When they are slammed the wait staff works their butt off so give them some grace and they will work hard for you! We enjoyed our meal here. The food was really good. Bonus: the outside patio is DOG friendly. If there in the evening, seek out a shady spot. I tried the BBQ nachos, which were nachos with true smoked BBQ, and BBQ sauce instead of queso. That sounds weird, but the server recommended them. My spouse had the seafood nachos. I'll start with service as this was the highlight and to be complimented. It, like most things, could always be better but our server was very nice, knew the menu, and worked as efficiently as he could. As far as the location and decor, clearly they have prime real estate with a beautiful lake view. The interior acoustics like pretty much anywhere are annoying. Especially when there are other parties in there that their mommy never taught them about their inside voice and they think they are the only people in the restaurant. On to the grub. Our friends are gluten free and they had options for this. So check there. For the most part I heard no complaints on everyone's dish. My son is quite the food critic and he did not like his chicken tacos. Kind of hard to mess that up but I trust my son's evaluation. The kick in the balls on this one was my meal. It was my 50th B day and I wanted to eat something special. I was torn between the Diablo burrito and the ultimate fajitas. They are of course known for their fajitas and I have had them before. I like spice and was concerned about the burrito spice level. The server told me it was very hot and that they can put the sauce on the side. I was also wondering how a burrito could be $25. I expected this thing to be a beast and that I would surely have left overs. I will say. The flavor of the burrito meat and the sauce was excellent. For me. It was also not that hot. The plate of food. Extremely disappointing. My son eats those El Monte frozen burritos at home and this burrito wasn't much bigger. I small cup of beans and some rice. This was literally a diet plate. For. $25. For the price. I would never order this again. Last. Again I was excited as I thought this was a crazy lot of prep signature meal here. Everyone. And I mean everyone at my table got their food first. I timed it. It took me 17 minutes to get my food. Most people at my table were done eating. Minimal apology from staff. It's nothing spectacular, get a seat by lake view and it will help swallow the $18 "grande" margarita that comes in a skinny tall glass filled halfway with large ice cubes. We came in about thirty minutes before closing time at Fajita Jack's on Highway 105. Although we do not like to do this, it was unavoidable as our previous event had just concluded. We have encountered several restaurants in the area which tell us when we walk in the door that they will be closing soon. We even had one who told us they would be closing in an hour. This always makes us want to walk back out the door, or at the very least, it makes us feel uncomfortable the entire meal. The staff at Fajita Jack's welcomed us and said we had plenty of time. Caleb, our server, did not hurry us to order. He never made us feel rushed at any time during the meal. In fact, he told us to take our time eating. I would like to thank him as well as the restaurant management for training their staff to make their guest experience their number one priority instead of the clock. First, this place is in a great location... you just want to go there because of the location, right on the waters of Lake conroe. Clearly, given the name, they specialize in fajitas, and even though I usually pass on fajitas for more traditional mexican dishes, I too jumped on the fajita bandwagon. Everything was good, served hot, fresh and quick, we really enjoyed the fajitas. I dont know that there was anything super special about this place that would warrant a second trip, but if we are in the mood again, we would definitely go back if we've exhausted our current list of places to go in Lake Conroe. read more

Looking for a late dinner restaurant in Conroe was definitely a challenge, but Fajita Jack's did not disappoint. We even had a bigger party of 13 only adding to the problem, but dinner went smoothly here. Service was quick! The waiters were great about keeping our waters filled, and our hunger at bay with the free chips and red/green salsa. The food came out faster than expected for a party of our size, and everything was hot/fresh. Nothing bothers me more than a Tex Mex restaurant whose "sizzling fajita" plates don't sizzle, but luckily this wasn't the case. As for food, you can't go wrong with the fajitas here! I mean its what they are named after so how could you not order them? They offer multiple different fajita plates, but we opted for the mixed beef/chicken fajitas that came with the cheddar jalapeno sausage. And I HIGHLY recommend getting the special habanero salsa on the side! It's not overly spicy but has a great flavor that goes with everything. I would come back here simply for this habanero salsa! The only reason I'm giving this place 4 stars instead of 5 is because some of their chips got unpleasantly stale. It's as if they mixed fresh hot chips with chips that were leftover from a couple days ago. Every couple chip bites really gave you a bad texture like it was chip roulette. This was our first time visiting. The place is very inviting and cheery. The outdoor area was probably my favorite. Dining by water is always a welcome change of scenery. They have a very large menu with different options. The food was amazing in terms of flavor and presentation. Their salsa is delicious and their yellow rice was perfectly cooked with a beautiful color. The downsize for me were the portions for the shrimp tacos and the carnitas tacos. I think there were 4-5 shrimps per taco. The carnitas serving was probably spooned out to go into a flauta instead. The portions would've been less noticeable if perhaps if they had served them in a regular taco tortilla. Instead they used a larger size tortilla, It felt like I was eating a coleslaw burrito that no one wrapped. there were no options offered in terms of tortilla. At least none I saw. I assumed they would serve them in a corn tortilla. No options were given upon ordering. Overall, it was a good experience. Good food and service. read more
