Our waiter, I felt, tried hard to make the table happy and was very personable. He brought us drinks and kept chips supplied for the table, made sure kids got their food in a timely fashion. My sister and I ordered the fajitas, I made sure to very clearly state that I have a severe allergy to cilantro. In most restaurants they take extra care and use safe non contamination practices so it is not a problem. I did not eat the salsa, we did not have rice or beans, we just had fajitas, sour cream, garlic butter, tortillas. We ate and shortly after I got hives on my scalp, in my mouth--never had a reaction so strong it affected inside my mouth. stomach distress. I ended taking about 200 mg over the course of the day. I called to let the restaurant know, they thanked me. I did/am not seeking a refund or a gift card but offering a warning that this restaurant does not take precautions when it comes to food allergies. The atmosphere is kid friendly, next to the lake so pretty views. it is quite loud because it is busy. We also ordered a strawberry cheesecake but it turned out to be cake with a strange strawberry cheesecake layer that was dry and not creamy. The fajitas were good. read more

Stopped into Fajita Jacks for drinks and appetizers a couple of times after spending some time out on the lake and each time we have really enjoyed ourselves. The beer was always cold and refreshing, the Margaritas were delicious and the daquiris were very tasty. The chips have been hot and crunchy and we really liked their guacamole, salsa and queso that go with it. We tried FJ Sampler; Chicken Quesadilla, Bacon Wrapped Poppers, Ground Beef Nachos, Chicken Flautas; Guacamole, Sour Cream, Chili con Queso and we all enjoyed the offerings on this plate. We have also tried the Popper Platter; Bacon Wrapped House Made Bite-Sized Jalapeño Peppers, Stuffed with Cream Cheese, and Fried Golden Brown. Served with Ranch. We also really enjoyed the Brisket Nachos; Individual Corn Chips, Slow Roasted Brisket, Queso Blanco, Jack Cheese, Candied Jalapeños, Coleslaw, Topped with Barbecue Sauce; Guacamole, Sour Cream. The service with Freddie is always great! The prices are reasonable and the view is fantastic. We need to stop back in and try out their entrees which always look good. No hiccups of any type. Food was hot & fresh & came out quickly. The red salsa is good, but the creamy avocado salsa is a knock out. One employee seemed to serve as an Expeditor & he examined every dish that came out of the kitchen window before it was served. WOW!! This food was delicious. I am here with family and I will certainly return. The cheese enchiladas were mounds of cheesy goodness. I've been a couple of times and service is always great. Waiters, waitresses and managers are always very attentive and kind. The food is not beyond what you can get at any Mexican restaurant but the location and view are everything around this area. The food was so good! We've come to this restaurant hundreds of times in the past few years and we stopped going because it seemed the quality had gone down and the prices had went up. We were SO surprised when we came in today, the first time in probably a year and the quality was amazing! Everything was delicious! We had the manager, Edis, as our server. He was very kind and quick! We let him know that we were on a time crunch for an appointment coming up and he had our lunch out in less than 10 minutes, checked on us very frequently and got us out of there with time to spare for our appointment! Lovely view and great service! Dining area was a bit loud and hard to hear, but we loved having Edis as our waiter.

Why 4 stars? Because everything was enjoyable but the service was incredibly slow. --- --- --- The chips and both kinds of salsa were great - especially whatever sorcery the green salsa was. And then we added white queso, which always hits the spot. The beef fajitas were very enjoyable. I would have preferred peppers in addition the grilled onions, but everything tasted great anyway. The fajita meat itself looked a bit different, but tasted exactly like it should. And I'd be remiss if I didn't mention the awesome views of Lake Conroe. So the lack of a 5th star really just comes down to the shockingly slow service. I suppose we will just have to chalk this up to the labor shortage, which is more the fault of the federal government than Fajita Jacks. However, the length of time that elapsed between visits from our server was pretty ridiculous. And while there were a fair amount of people in here, we arrived at 5:30p on a Saturday, which means we were not there at a peak time. We will likely try every Tex-Mex spot in the area before we collectively settle on a favorite, but the thing Fajita Jacks has going for it is the view and the ambiance. We shall see if find a place whose food is good enough to overcome that. read more

Meats were grilled just right, so tender and tasty. All the fixings were fresh.
