Well, I had lunch with a couple of buddies today and while they inhaled their food because they were starving, I had to take my time eating their cool-to-slightly-lukewarm beef nachos. It's difficult to understand whyvtgey would serve the food lukewarm. I don't like my food lukewarm - it's just not good. Service was fast - maybe because it was lunchtime but c'mon, a few seconds under the broiler would help out the taste. The ambiance is still nice and bright. We got a table overlooking the outside patio so we had a good view. Nevertheless, even though I like this restaurant, serving cool to lukewarm nachos is not good. In fact, it's a horrible practice. Headed to Center Point on a recent work trip. Once I dropped off the parts I headed back to Comfort looking for a bathroom break and lunch. Actually headed to the adjacent restaurant but parking was an issue. Waited on some folks who got in the vehicle to leave. Phone time I guess; finally left and went across to Fajita St. Seated quickly, drink delivered, and food ordered. House fried (I think hand cut too) chips and flavorful salsa. Within minutes I'm staring at my Cheese Enchiladas and Beef Fajita plate. Couple of observations; I was offered my choice of filling but no choice of sauce on the enchiladas. The main reason for my 4 star nod is the beef was stupid tender. I obviously wished the beef could be cooked to order (not well done). Rice and beans were good fare. For the price point I would have liked at least an avocado component. Time was of the essence and I was in and out in under 30 minutes. read more

This absolute gem right off the I-10 in Comfort, Texas fully lives up to the towns name. From the moment we stepped in the doors we were warmly greeted and promptly seated. The restaurant design is beautiful, and sets the ambiance for excellent dining. The staff was fantastic, from the host to the wait staff, and the food was absolutely delicious. My husband and I shared the Angus Beef fajita street tacos, which were perfectly seasoned, the beef was tender, and the habeñero sauce (on the side) packs serious heat. There were 4 people in our party total and our bill was under $35. The quantity and quality you get for the price is astounding. We are so glad we stumbled into this place on our cross-country drive, and would absolutely go again. Thank you for an excellent dining experience. read more

We ended up at this place because there was not a whole lot opened on Friday night surprisingly, but there was a ton of cars here. Pretty good food. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is that gluten free options are limited (if this isn't an issue for you, read on for the positives)... First off, when we pulled into the parking lot we thought it was empty, only to realize that there is a wonderful row of parking spots very nicely shaded on the far end of the parking lot. As every Texas knows, in the summer, it is SO worth walking across any parking lot for a spot in the shade when parking at 6pm. Clearly this parking lot was filled with expert level Texans! The inside of the restaurant was new and very clean. The food we ordered was delicious and they even have Mexican coke. (hello! Real sugar, not HFCS! Loved it!) The corn tortillas were made fresh and were delicious, not like what you get from the grocery store. I would highly recommend them. Now for my gluten free info: Most Mexican food is "safe" in the gf world, but this restaurant marinates their meat (with the exception of chicken) in a marinade that contains gluten. The rice seasoning also contains gluten (this was a huge disappointment as most Mexican rice I eat is totally fine). Our waitress was very kind and went back to the kitchen twice to get this info for me, as there is no gf menu. She told me that the grilled and shredded chicken and grilled veggies don't contain gluten, but are cooked on the same grill as everything else. I decided to try the enchiladas with shredded chicken. I knew it was a risk, but it turned out fine and I didn't have any reaction, and they were delicious! But I would say, if you can't have any cross contamination, this isn't a safe place for you to eat, unless you want an avocado salad. read more

Driving from Boerne to Kerrville, I generally take the back road from Comfort through Center Point, so this restaurant is right on the way and is usually busy. Liking a nice plate of fajitas, I was hopeful as I entered. The restaurant is laid out comfortably with Mexican style furniture and a nice bar area. I was seated immediately and brought a basket of chips and a bowl of likely mass-produced commercial salsa. Lots of appetizing dishes on the menu, I picked fajitas and enchiladas. Portions were on the small size, particularly the four pinche strips of industrially prepared fajita meat. Big disappointment. At least the tortillas were good, particularly the corn. I had a draft beer. It seems the beer selections were assigned by the distributor. No imagination, same beers you see in 90% of similar restaurants. While I might eat here again trying something else if I happen to be hungry in Comfort, I wouldn't make a trip from Boerne for it. If I want pinche portions, I can get them there. read more

This place is really big inside. Very nice furniture and atmosphere. There is a scent in the restaurant I cannot quite put my finger on. Almost like a sewage smell. I have a very sensitive nose when it comes to smells and can smell things like a dog. The scent really bothered me so I wasn't big on ordering anything other than nachos and a margarita to be social and not ruin it for the others in my group. I kept it to myself. I prefer their margarita on the rocks vs the frozen. The frozen has an odd taste I didn't care for. Our waitress was the absolute BEST with the BEST Personality!!!!!!! My husband had a breakfast egg, bacon and cheese taquito, and I had a breakfast burrito with egg, fried potato, bacon and added cheese, beans, and avocado. They were the best eggs we've ever tasted. The breakfast was super fresh. We walked in around 1030am on a Saturday, so there was no bartender yet, but they allowed us to sit at the bar and made us a couple drinks. They are in process of getting their patio built. We can't wait to visit again the next time we drive through Comfort, Tx. Great service, food, and ready to try out the patio. read more
