I've been coming to this restaurant for a couple of years and have always enjoyed the food and service, which makes today's experience especially disappointing. The kefta was noticeably undercooked, and the chicken was burnt and dry. Unfortunately, one of us became sick and ended up throwing up after the meal, which was very concerning. The staff were welcoming and polite, but they didn't seem genuinely happy. While they were professional, the overall energy felt a bit flat. Great food often reflects the passion and enthusiasm of the people preparing and serving it, and I hope the team can rediscover that spirit because it really makes a difference in the dining experience. I hope this was just an isolated incident because I've had many good experiences here in the past. This place is so inconsistent! It's good one day and then disgusting the next day. Look at this burnt to the crust chicken they put into my sandwich. I was wondering what crunchy thing I was chewing on and it was this. How can you think to even use this??? My girlfriend never had falafel before coming here, so I took her out and we went to try Falafel Fresh a while back. It was a very interesting experience here... When we first came in, we ordered normally and it was all fine. But then we noticed that the person who we assumed was the owner was arguing with the cashier that was working. We think she may have made a mistake which led to the dispute between them. We never figured out what it was about, but it was just an odd thing to watch as we sat waiting for our food. Once we got the food though, we dove straight into eating. Sadly, the falafel was quite dry and tough. The taste was fine, but it did feel like they may have cooked it too long? It had a bit of a charred taste to it. I've had quite a bit of falafel in the past, and it wasn't completely up to par with what I was expecting. We came here because we were looking for some place that is open late and would be able to seat bigger group (we had a group of 8). We hadn't heard of this place before so we were hesitant but the food was overall solid. The gyro meet was good, but I will say there was a bit more oil than I'm used to but I would still consider this one of the better Mediterranean places in the greater Seattle area, especially on the east side. Best hummus I've ever had! I checked out Falafel Fresh in Kirkland and it did not disappoint. The restaurant is clean and has a great, fresh vibe. While they seem to do a massive amount of takeout business, eating in was just as good. The Beef and Chicken Shawarma were both highlights--perfectly seasoned, juicy, and authentic. Wow this place is fantastic. I just moved in the area and was checking out food places near me. Everything here is made fresh from scratch and I was impressed with everything I got including the beef and chicken schwarma and the lamb kafta. The salad was also fresh and not just generic. There was only one person working when we went but he was speedy and prepped everything with care. The place is quaint with 6 tables and some bar seating. Really good falafel place that's located in DT Kirkland. Prices are reasonable, around $15-$22. I got the lamb plate and it was delicious. The meat was cooked perfectly, and the rice was aromatic. I think this is a hidden gem. Not just for falafel (perhaps a name change may be appropriate), but for all different types of Mediterranean food. The restaurant was cozy but it wasn't too crowded as it was drizzling that evening. It appeared to be family owned/operated and I'm always happy to support small businesses. As for the food, the gyro plate was quite good including all of the sides. The portions were large with chunks of meat and the best part was that it was not overly salty as many of the processes gyro meat can be (I prefer the pressed meat but those are hard to find in the US). What I ordered: We selected a Chicken Shawarma, 4 pieces of Kibbeh, Greek Fries, Chicken Gyro Salad and Chicken & Beef Platter. Cold beverages were ordered and available to serve yourself in the fridge to the side of the kitchen/serving area. You order and pay at the counter and if you dine in, you can sit and they will bring your food out. Everyone has been very nice and friendly. It can take a little time to make the food especially if there's a line but it seems like it's because everything is made really fresh to order. I also like how there's a place which opens quite late in downtown Kirkland. I really enjoy the falafels because they're freshly made and not frozen premade ones.you can see them scooping and shaping them before they go into the fryer. I am not on the Eastside too often but happened to be in Kirkland on a sunny Sunday in March 2024 and had some time to kill... I was walking around downtown and saw Falafel Fresh and decided to check the Yelp reviews. After seeing so many positives ones, I decided to pick up a something to-go. The staff was friendly and when I asked which plate is recommended, the worker told me either the combo plate or the chicken kebab. I didn't want such a large plate so opted for the chicken kebab ($20). I had to wait a little while (totally fine) - it seems like they are preparing a lot of the items fresh, which is great! The meal included a warm pita and some hot sauce and garlic sauce (packaged separately - which was perfect for takeout). I didn't end up eating the food until about 2 hours later and it was still SO tasty. Chicken was juicy and tender and delicious seasoning. The garlic sauce is key! We reheated the pita and it was still soft and pillow-y. The price seemed slightly higher, but the portion was a pretty good size and everything seemed really high quality -- I'll gladly pay more for better quality. We got Falafel, Chicken Kebab Plate, Chicken Shawarma Sandwich, and Baklava. The Falafel was amazing, some of the best we have ever had. The Chicken Kebab plate was good, the chicken kebab was delicious, hummus was good. We loved the spicy side that came with the kebab plate. The Chicken Shawarma Sandwich was very good, I loved it and couldn't stop eating it. We finished with baklava, they had pistachio and walnut. He said the beef was chewy and the meat tasted stale, every single piece. He hated his dish so much. I am very reluctantly giving this dish one star, because I just can't justify anything higher. I have tried every mediterranean cuisine option (the three others i can think of at least) on the kirkland waterfront and Falafel Fresh is easily my favorite. I've had the mixed kebab plate, the lamb shawarma plate, and the lamb shank each one has been delightful. I will be back often! For a counter service place, the seating and ambiance are nonetheless very comfortable and amenable to hanging out for a long period of time. The long and flexible hours of operation are also very welcome considering how most of the Kirkland waterfront closes things up mid-evening. Through and through Falafel Fresh is a winner! read more

Stopped here for lunch while I was in Kirkland area for work. Finding a nearby parking is a hassle, but I was determined to try this place after receiving multiple recommendations. It was late afternoon, but the chef was quite busy preparing the food, I reckon the online orders. Waited for around 2-3 minutes for him to be available to order my food. They've got a tempting menu with variety of options - Shawarma, Plates, Salads, Soup, Sides and desserts. Ordered the Chicken Shawarma (combo) and Kefta plate. They don't have a big dining area. Limited seating capacity. The decor of this place is quite nice. Well maintained. Waited for almost 10 minutes for the food to be ready. He packed everything well and handed over. I felt the Shawarma was more of a greek touch than Mediterranean. Loved the flavor and really enjoyed it though. Kefta felt totally different, but in a good way. A different experience from other Mediterranean places. A refreshing experience to be honest. Loved the food and service. It's a $$ place.
