Burnt chicken coals in my sandwich
    Yong C.

This place is so inconsistent! It's good one day and then disgusting the next day. Look at this burnt to the crust chicken they put into my sandwich. I was wondering what crunchy thing I was chewing on and it was this. How can you think to even use this??? If i worked there, I would throw it out and make sure my customer is getting actual chicken not black coals.

Unfortunately the food is not what it used to be here. Below average. Last few times I went there the falafels had a terrible taste and the Baba Ghannoge does not taste anything as it used to. One thing to mention the place is very clean but this is not enough for me to eat there. I won't be going back after last week visit.

My girlfriend never had falafel before coming here, so I took her out and we went to try Falafel Fresh a while back. It was a very interesting experience here... When we first came in, we ordered normally and it was all fine. But then we noticed that the person who we assumed was the owner was arguing with the cashier that was working. We think she may have made a mistake which led to the dispute between them. We never figured out what it was about, but it was just an odd thing to watch as we sat waiting for our food. Once we got the food though, we dove straight into eating. Sadly, the falafel was quite dry and tough. The taste was fine, but it did feel like they may have cooked it too long? It had a bit of a charred taste to it. I've had quite a bit of falafel in the past, and it wasn't completely up to par with what I was expecting. I would give Falafel Fresh another chance, but this first experience wasn't exactly it for us.

Came here with friends on a Friday night. Parking is hard to find, but there were a few spots available at the marina beach park. Food was ok. I'd say the meat wasn't anything amazing, the rice was more oily than I'm used to, portion sizes were decent, price wasn't worth the quality of food. The service was pretty quick though. Good for a late night bite.

Wow this place is fantastic. I just moved in the area and was checking out food places near me. Everything here is made fresh from scratch and I was impressed with everything I got including the beef and chicken schwarma and the lamb kafta. The salad was also fresh and not just generic. There was only one person working when we went but he was speedy and prepped everything with care. The place is quaint with 6 tables and some bar seating. Give this place a try it's one of the better places I've had for Mediterranean.

Very clean inside and excellent prompt service. Enjoyed the chicken kebab plate. Chicken was not dry and grilled perfectly. Hummus delicious. The baklava was excellent as well, just enough honey. Was a bit empty at first on Sunday morning but saw take out orders and other people came in closer to noon.

Absolutely delicious gyro plate, friendly staff, good music, and open late! Will definitely come back.

Really good falafel place that's located in DT Kirkland. Prices are reasonable, around $15-$22. I got the lamb plate and it was delicious. The meat was cooked perfectly, and the rice was aromatic. Only thing is that I think portion sizes could have been slightly bigger, and the rice was a bit watery. But the flavours were on point. Casual dining place and not lots of seating. Service is fast.

How I heard of this place: We were visiting the Kirkland waterfront and as we consulted about where to go for dinner, a young man approached and recommended this new place up the road. We decided gyros sounded good, so we gave it a try. Type of cuisine: Mediterranean, fast and freshly made to order. Ambiance: More cozy than a fast food establishment, yet still with reminiscenses of a chain or franchise. The decor is thoughtful, but a bit forced. The personalized and warm, friendly service made you easily forget about what might feel off in the setting. Music is tasteful and fun, with mostly an Arab influence in the video monitor above the sitting area. What I ordered: We selected a Chicken Shawarma, 4 pieces of Kibbeh, Greek Fries, Chicken Gyro Salad and Chicken & Beef Platter. Cold beverages were ordered and available to serve yourself in the fridge to the side of the kitchen/serving area. What I loved: The seasoning and spices of the chicken, perfectly balanced and robust with flavor. Why I loved it: Extra friendly service, with kind attention to the children in our group, as well. A very welcoming middle-eastern feel and an easy spot in which to feel at home. Cost: Average to high

tl;dr - good falafels, casual environment, open late I've been here twice now and the food is quite good. This place is really casual. You order and pay at the counter and if you dine in, you can sit and they will bring your food out. Everyone has been very nice and friendly. It can take a little time to make the food especially if there's a line but it seems like it's because everything is made really fresh to order. I also like how there's a place which opens quite late in downtown Kirkland. I really enjoy the falafels because they're freshly made and not frozen premade ones.you can see them scooping and shaping them before they go into the fryer. I also tried the gyro and it was really packed full of meat and veggies. It was actually large enough for me to split half into another pita for a second meal.

I am not on the Eastside too often but happened to be in Kirkland on a sunny Sunday in March 2024 and had some time to kill... I was walking around downtown and saw Falafel Fresh and decided to check the Yelp reviews. After seeing so many positives ones, I decided to pick up a something to-go. The staff was friendly and when I asked which plate is recommended, the worker told me either the combo plate or the chicken kebab. I didn't want such a large plate so opted for the chicken kebab ($20). I had to wait a little while (totally fine) - it seems like they are preparing a lot of the items fresh, which is great! The meal included a warm pita and some hot sauce and garlic sauce (packaged separately - which was perfect for takeout). I didn't end up eating the food until about 2 hours later and it was still SO tasty. Chicken was juicy and tender and delicious seasoning. The garlic sauce is key! We reheated the pita and it was still soft and pillow-y. The price seemed slightly higher, but the portion was a pretty good size and everything seemed really high quality -- I'll gladly pay more for better quality. Definitely was satisfied with this meal and would stop by again the next time I'm in Kirkland!

We walked by this place recently and knew we had to try it. We had dinner at Falafel Fresh one night this week and we loved it. We got Falafel, Chicken Kebab Plate, Chicken Shawarma Sandwich, and Baklava. The Falafel was amazing, some of the best we have ever had. The Chicken Kebab plate was good, the chicken kebab was delicious, hummus was good. We loved the spicy side that came with the kebab plate. The Chicken Shawarma Sandwich was very good, I loved it and couldn't stop eating it. We finished with baklava, they had pistachio and walnut. We got one of each, and they were both so good, had the right amount of sweetness, and l liked that it was not dripping in sauce. I think the pistachio might win as my favorite.

    Beef Shawarma Plate, $20 - 1 Stars

Falafel Fresh opened as a small eatery with limited seating on the main corridor of Lake Street in downtown Kirkland. It is an expensive area, and I cheer for any eatery that can survive this high rent area. I don't care if they are small and have simple deco. As long as the food is good, I would be very happy. We phoned in our order and did a pick-up. Service was simple and no-nonsense. The Food: Falafel Plate, $16 - 5 Stars Menu: 8 pieces of falafel, with house salad, hummus, tahini, and pita This dish is absolutely perfect for me. It has everything I like. The falafels are tender inside with a nicely fried crisp on the outside. The combo with salad, hummus, tahini makes this a healthy and tasty choice. Beef Shawarma Plate, $20 - 1 Stars Menu: Sliced thin grilled beef, onions, tomatoes, tahini, hummus, rice, house salad and pita bread Oh man, my hubby was so disappointed. He said the beef was chewy and the meat tasted stale, every single piece. He hated his dish so much. I am very reluctantly giving this dish one star, because I just can't justify anything higher. It will now be a pain to convince hubby to give them a second chance, but I still want the falafel. Serious bummer!

In long Meeting an old friend for lunch, I looked for the best place that was close to halfway between us. I knew he dug Persian, but, for all the Middle Eastern and Mediterranean I've tried, this was my first venture. Safe to say I was long overdue for this exploration. 100th is pretty dense with little strip malls and mixed-use retail/residential for miles through here. A couple blocks away, you're in very leafy suburbia, but this stretch of road is 4 lanes and endless business district. BBMC is tucked on the east side of the street in a corner suite, plenty of parking. The dining room isn't much bigger than the back of most moving trucks you've loaded in your life; there's seating for maybe 20, and about 4 more on the little sidewalk patio. There's a clean and spacious washroom in back, though getting a wheelchair in there might take some doing. You get laminated menus and a carafe of water within a minute of sitting. It's not the longest menu, but evidently pretty extensive by Persian standards. We both went for grilled kebabs with basmati rice and salad. I was on duty to bring home a full serving of leftovers, so I went with the King's Choice. Great big salad, and a huge tray of rice. This is clearly designed for at least 2 to share. As it happens, that was the plan, since we're having leftovers for dinner at home. The salad has tons of fresh veg and a nice herbaceous yogurt dressing. No sauce on the meat or rice, but there's a ton of flavor from perfectly-balanced dry seasoning. The beef, ground beef, and chicken kebabs were all bursting with moisture and flavor, cooked just to perfect doneness, and showing nice little hints of grill scoring. I paid a little over $70 for what will be 3 servings of food (at least), and I haven't even tried the eggplant appetizer yet. I grabbed that to go. This place is worth many repeat visits, and I'd be in here regularly if I lived closer.
