We tried this place for the first time, it's almost similar to Chipotle style and you can see all the ingredients. We ordered the beef and lamb shawarma wrap and the chicken shawarma wrap. As well as the baba ganoush. It comes on a cutting board with some sauces and pickles. The portion size is good, the lamb and beef was heavy on the lamb side and had a very strong lamb flavor which wasn't our thing. The chicken was not bad but the meat is a bit dry without the sauces. Baba ganoush was good and fresh, but unfortunately we found a hair in it towards the middle (maybe from the guys beard or mustache?). Stopped by here with a friend since we were in the mood for this type of cuisine. There wasn't anyone inside when we arrived so we were readily received at the register. The person helping us was quick with the process, which I always appreciate. The inside of the store is pretty small but there are a couple of tables with some chairs if you choose to eat there. I liked how relatively clean it was. I ended up getting a lamb & beef gyro. They definitely stuffed that thing so there was plenty of food! My friend got the lamb and beef shawarma and I tried some of hers. I would say that both had great flavor with a decent blend of spices, but the meat was just a tad bit dry. Cute little spot in Redmond town center. First time I try this place! The food was good and flavorful but the chicken shawarma didn't have the shawarma flavor that I'm typically used to. Portions are huge. The gentleman that worked there was friendly and helpful. Although there is a gluten free menu which includes wraps, when I asked for gf bread he said they didn't have any. Also, the salad on my platter didn't have any dressing...not sure if this was missed or if this how it's typically presented. Wow!! This place packed serious flavor. I have never had baba ganoush before. As far as my memory goes. The one I ordered with a pita bread from here: creamy and full of flavor! I would order this again. I also ordered the cauliflower wrap. Oh my God. Perfect refreshing vegetables and fried cauliflower. Tzatziki sauce makes it better. The whole thing was flavorful and filling. This meal made me not miss eating meat for dinner. For one time only. If you can do a really awesome job at selling me two vegetarian items for about the same price as a regular shawarma wrap? Count Me In! Shawarma Time in Redmond Town Center is a solid Mediterranean grill serving all the classic dishes you'd expect. Big plus right off the bat: easy parking in the nearby garage. I was honestly blown away by the portion size -- they do not skimp here. The chicken shawarma was wonderfully spiced, flavorful, and cooked really well. Prices felt very reasonable for how much food you get, and the free hot tea at the end was a sweet touch (literally and figuratively). My only small downside is a personal preference: I don't like my food touching, and the to-go container was packed so full that food items that don't mix well for me were touching. If that doesn't bother you, this is probably a non-issue. After my visit, I saw their recent health inspection. The report listed several critical violations, including improper cold holding temperatures, cooking/reheating procedures, and handwashing. That definitely gave me some pause and is something I hope they address moving forward. Overall, the food itself was tasty and a great value and the staff was awesome, but the health inspection findings are important to consider. If they address that, it'll definitely be worth a visit if you're in the area. read more

I had heard about this earlier and was going to check out the Seattle location, but I found myself a couple minutes away from it when I was in Redmond, I decided to finally try it out! And boy I was glad I did. I tried both the chicken and beef shawarmas they were both very good. I enjoyed the fact that they were sticking to the authentic way of making them using the saj bread and the basic toppings for each. This casual restaurant has two tables that can see parties of four with barstool seating. Order at the counter food comes pretty quick service is very friendly and knowledgeable. So why the four stars well the food was OK. I appreciate that. They have designated vegan food options clearly labeled, which is what I ordered. I thought my plate was good. The cauliflower is really good. The falafel's were OK. The baba ghanoush & pita was great, and the hummus was OK. Not sure if it was the olive oil that threw me off but it's okay. This is under the walk over bridge towards the old Macy, near the parking! Quite a mixed bag here. First off their fries are the absolute best and pair so, so well with their garlic sauce. I'm going back just to get this. I'll throw a couple side falafel on top and I'm done. Superb. The salad was also juicy and fresh and a good add. So why a mixed bag? I went back and forth, 3 or 4 stars. The main reason was the meat just wasn't that good on its own. The chicken fries were great because of the fries and sauce but the chicken was fairly dry and didn't have much flavor on its own. The beef was even less flavorful (though not as dry) and the cauliflower was just OK (a bit dry and a bit under spiced). So after all that still 4 stars? Yeah, the sauce and fries are that good. I truly want to say I like Shawarma Time. But I can't. The presentation looks promising. I like the thin Saj flat bread over pita breads for the wrap. The staff taking orders was nice (a lady). But that's where the pros end. Shawarma Time took over the tiny store front vacated by ShareTea which moved to a much larger place around the corner in Redmond Town Center. They stuffed two tables and a bar height table by the window into this space. It's doable-ish on nice days where spillovers can eat along the main RTC area. At all other times, I guess they'll rely on takeout only meals. Other than the cramped space, the restaurant itself is newly remodeled and clean. I didn't see a bathroom, so I guess one would use the mall bathroom. When dining in, the food is served on giant wooden paddles, even the wraps. These take up a lot of space on the counter table where we sat. Thank goodness, we were the only two there. And then they hand us these plastic utensils in plastic baggies. I was raising an eyebrow looking at these for dine-in. Did the reusable utensils not arrive yet? Or is this it long term? OR, they simply don't want people to dine in. They don't serve water. You must buy a beverage. The water is the lowest cost at $2 a bottle. I can tolerate all the above if the food is good. But... The Food: Beef & Lamb Shawarma Plate, $16.99 - 2 Stars The presentation, like I said, was good. Pita, meat on rice, hummus, salad arranged nicely on the platter. The meat was, however, dry. The meat shavings are too small, taking away from the meat texture. It's almost like eating grounded beef. Too dry was hubby's first complaint. His second complaint was the overall portion size is similar than our normal place by a good margin (with better meat). He regularly gets 1.5 if not 2 meals from our regular place. He was just 'ok' with this serving size and was asking about dessert as we leave. Disappointed. Beef & Lamb Shawarma Wrap, $12.95 - 2 Stars The dryness of the meat is not as obvious in the wrap. Tahini sauce and chopped tomato pieces kept the meat edible, even though I still don't like the texture, again too close to ground beef. My biggest issue is this wrap seems very oily. I rubbed the end all over the giant wood platter trying to smear the oil away. I tried to convince myself that's just the tomato juice oozing out or that's just the tahini sauce. No and no. It's definitely oily. I took a photo. Fried Cauliflower, $5.95 - 1 Stars Two other families who ordered after us received their takeout orders and left, before this sad little fried cauliflower with 5 pieces of cauliflower was delivered to our table. **FIVE** That's more than $1 for each piece of cauliflower. Were they running out of cauliflower so they padded our appetizer with lettuce? This is not called a fried cauliflower salad with tahini sauce. It is in the appetizer section call fried cauliflower, period. I assume they don't serve fries on lettuce. I have never seen fried cauliflower on lettuce before. So peculiar and so pathetic looking. ok this place needs more HYPE. I was looking for a cheap, quick option for lunch that was vegan friendly and looking at the menu, I thought this would check all the boxes. Boy did it. When we got in, there was just one person taking orders, cooking, and serving but we didn't feel like it took too long. Probably got our food within 10 minutes? I ordered chicken fries and my friend got the falafel super wrap. Both were SCRUMPTIOUS. the portions were pretty large and the flavors were amazing. there is also free black tea that the owner makes with his own recipe that is so addicting. I swear I had like 4 cups. But I think what really should be highlighted was the service - I think the guy was probably the owner and he was just so kind and patient and friendly. We talked about his other locations and how everything tasted. We love Middle Eastern food and were excited to try this place. Overall, it's o.k. What they excelled in were the sandwiches mostly because of the bread they are wrapped in. The bread is nicely toasted and brings a lot to the table. The sandwiches are a bit on the small side, although the prices are very reasonable so that was fine. I wasn't impressed with the meat on my son's beef and lamb shawarma, but the chicken was good. I ended up eating the rest of my daughter's chicken shawarma. It helps that this one is served with amazing garlic sauce. My own sandwich was the standard vegetarian with falafel wrap. It was quite good, but when we tried the hummus and baba ghanouj (my husband ordered the mezze plate), we were quite disappointed with the flavor. The plate did come with nice salads though.
