Based on the menu, I was super excited to come here. The meal was a huge disappointment though. After having souvlaki in Athens many years ago it's been one of my favorites. There's an amazing place called Petra Greek in Sacramento and I haven't found a good souvlaki here yet. You'd think a place on the Kirkland waterfront would be nice inside, but unfortunately it's kind of a dump inside they really need to remodel. Also where are the meat skewers and why can't I see them? Any great Greek place should have large meat skewers in the window/visible to the customers. The food itself wasn't bad but it really wasn't anything great either. The meat was cooked decently but could use more seasoning. Theres way too much lettuce and why are fries optional it should be mandatory, I ordered one not realizing the fries were extra and then wasn't able to add fries to it after the fact because I only had a card no cash. Just make the fries mandatory and charge more. That way the souvlaki isn't 50% shredded lettuce. The pita bread was just kinda stale and soft which did not work for me. I have no issues with the staff but this place really needs a reboot. There is so much potential here and it's just wasted. read more

I was at a flower shop near by and asked the store keeper for recommendations on where to eat in the area. She recommended this spot, among a few others, so I walked over to check out the menu and was immediately drawn in by the yummy smells wafting out of their open door into the streets. They had a two small tables outside but most of their seating was indoors. First, you order at the counter, then you get out of the way because the line here tends to snake out the door very quickly and there's not much space to stand around. Fortunately, service was efficient and quick and I got my order within 15 minutes. The guy at the counter was impressive at recognizing faces - he didn't ask for names or give order numbers, he just knew who ordered what and was able to accurately summon each of us when our food was ready. I also overheard a few conversations with other customers and it's clear that this place is a staple with the locals. I got the gyro salad, falafel, and gyro sandwich with Greek fries. Everything was fantastic, and came in big portions so I had leftovers for the next meal. I can see why it's a beloved lunch spot for all ages! read more

It was a perfect day sitting outside the restaurant enjoying the street traffic and someone playing the violin just a few feet away. It truly couldn't be more pleasant especially being cooped up at home for the past too many months. The atmosphere is like being on a busy street in Europe. Ok enough about the ambiance but hey after all, we eat with all our senses?! :) We started off with the homemade yogurt drink and it came in a fun copper tumbler (see photos). Highly recommended drink! Then we had the red lentil soup. It was delicious! If I wasn't hungry, the soup and some pita bread would be a very nice light meal. I had the lamb and beef salad. It was satisfying although I wished there is more greens than protein but not everyone would agree with me. We also had the Turkish pizza where they made their dough in house. Stopped by to grab a quick lunch bite here. The owner is super friendly, jovial and just downright fun. The falafels were by far some of the best I've had. They were airy and light and crisp and oh so flavorful. Strongly recommend these. We also got a chicken gyro and a lamb and beef gyro. Both of there were piled high with fresh veggies and flavorful sauce. My only complaint is that the gyro meat itself was lackluster; it was a tad dry and under-seasoned. The spicy sauce is really nice but way too salty so use it sparingly but do try it out. Overall the food was filing and fresh albeit a tad underwhelming. Santorini is particularly an institution in downtown Kirkland, beloved by many for decades. Like a good Mom and Pop restaurant, we like it just as it is, and they haven't changed the menu over the years, except adjusting cost as needed. Every year, they close for a month+ during the holidays typically through the end of January. The locals will talk about it in the FB groups asking if anyone saw rather they are back. The menu is basic and good. During lunch time, a line forms to outside the door for a gyro sandwich to go. Back when I did lots of international business travel, his gyro sandwich was the first meal I ask my husband to get when I come home. It was my comfort food, that I was home. If it isn't obvious, his gyro is the top go to item, freshly cut from the rotating rotisserie. Everything cooked and made fresh. The salad has a tasty dressing. There is a bit of water drained on the bottom of the plate from the lettuce though. The falafel is green on the inside, i.e. with herbs and seasoning. I still like it best dipped in the yogurt sauce. Forgot to take a picture of the sign, but I believe the minimum for using a credit card is $8. Previously the restaurant was cash only. Had the gyro plate and the gyro salad. We had a great experience at Santorini Greek Grill. After a strenuous 8-9 mile hike, my boyfriend and I were absolutely exhausted... and absolutely ready to eat. For some reason, I always find myself in the mood for Greek food after hiking. We didn't want to drive too far out of our way because of how tired we were, and this place is close to where we live. It's right down in the ~fun~ area of Downtown Kirkland. They have both indoor and outdoor seating, but the outdoor was very limited. We snagged a table outside, and to be honest, it wasn't super comfortable (not factoring that into my review). I think I'd want to sit inside next time. I ordered a falafel salad and my boyfriend ordered a gyro plate. My falafel salad was maybe a 7/10. The falafel was amazing, but the salad was pretty disappointing. It looked great, but tasted average. I always loved the dressing I get on my falafel salads at other Greek places, but there was barely any dressing on this one, so I found myself using the tzatziki sauce for dressing (which was a little odd, but the tzatziki was a 10/10). I know, you'll probably say I had it coming for me, but I also wish it would've been a little bit bigger of a portion OR come with pita. My boyfriend's gyro plate was great. He gave it an 8-9/10. The meat was good, the salad was good, and he also thought that the tzatziki was fantastic. We split his pita since I didn't get any, and I think it was the best pita I've ever had. I've noticed that a lot of places seem to buy their pitas from Costco (just a guess... I've had Costco pita and a lot of places have pita that tastes exactly the same). Maybe their pitas aren't from Costco, but regardless, many places I've been to have pitas that taste the same and just aren't super great. They almost taste like white bread. Santorini Greek Grill's pita was clearly different. It was buttery and slightly garlicky and... just scrumptious. Overall, we will definitely return to Santorini Greek Grill. Outstanding Falafels! They are crispy on outside, soft inside... just perfect. The pitas were warm and soft, perfectly complimenting the falafels. The chicken gyros Were yum too! The only thing I missed was the tzatziki sauce or something which would make the platter more garlicky. Also I think the rice could have been a bit more flavorful. Parking can be tricky as the location is quite prime and busy. We parked about one block ahead and walked back. I would say this is a grab and go place, or get a quick bite kinda place.
