    Sch CHICKEN SHAWARMA WRAP
    Ben D.

Awesome experience here great service and food. I got a schwarma wrap it was really tasty with tender chicken and a crispy wrap around it . I loved the savory flavors mixed the freshness of the vegetables. It is very generous portion wise. Inside the store it is small with a bunch of outdoor seating it is mainly a to go shop but it is nice. They have a ton of sauces with to go containers

Stopped here twice. First for the bowl which was unappealing. 3/4 of the bowl was made up of spinach. I heard the wrap was better so went back for the falafel wrap to give it another try. Although the sauces helped to enhance the flavor the overall wrap tasted bland. I gave it two tries before rating. I guess it is $8 bowls $5 wraps so maybe you get what you pay for.

We came here on the final day to grab our falafel as part of the Yelp experience. This was considered my study break so I made it an outing with my husband and pup. We drove over and battled the cold to make it. We heard people yelling about how cold it was but that didn't stop us from our mission. The spot isn't a sit down restaurant but it has everything you need and I imagine it's perfect for grab and go picnics in the summer. I was really excited and ordered the falafel sandwich and bowl to go. My husband waited outside with the pup, both looking at me with those puppy eyes wanting to come indoors for some warmth. Anyway it was worth the wait. We came home and devoured our fries and falafel while watching a movie. The sauces are all amazing. If you like spice, the green sauce was a kicker. The Habibi sauce and white sauce are good for "lathering" your falafels without feeling the fire. Anyway thank you for the experience, love the falafels here and can't edit to try the other sandwiches.

Loved this spot and I definitely want to come back to try more on the menu! Really enjoyed the falafel sandwich and fries. The staff was very nice and attentive! There is sitting outside. What a great addition to Woodley Park!

We were the first customers there so they were still setting up and put out the sauces shortly after we ordered. They were sooooo nice. They gave us two tote bags and we'd ordered the wraps and fries, all delicious!

The Chicken Swarma wrap was really good! Was presented inserted in an elongated paper container that was quite convenient to slide it out and back in, for handling. The chicken and the garlic sauce was on point and I found myself looking to order another one, before I could even finish it. Also got a Falafel bowl with greens and Falafel sandwich which were both tasty and made with fresh ingredients. The small counter was just enough space to rest your food on it, for a quick bite or to grab some sauces to go. The order was taken with a smile, and I felt welcomed and satisfied with her ability to help explain the different choices. I know I will be back to try more, and grab another Chicken Swarma wrap too!

This is counter-serve takeout only with a few tables outside the store. Located conveniently right outside the National Zoo entrance, a fantastic place to grab a quick bite if you're planning a zoo trip. The falafel sandwich at $5 each might be the best deal in all of DC. Good size pita stuffed with about 6 falafel balls and plenty of shredded veggies. On the counter inside the store are about 8 different sauces ranging from mild to spicy. These sauces can make every bite taste different but regardless, the falafel are fresh fried & tasty (though falafels are pretty simple & basic). A few other items on the menu but hard to beat a $5 sandwich nowadays.

How can anyone complain about a $5 falafel sandwich? :) I love how they have all the sauces for me to add to my falafel. There are plenty of pickled vegetables in the sandwich too. It was so delicious.

Five star for food and ambiance. Seating is outside, was nice temperature and weather tonight. Food was delayed, so three star for service.

    Chicken wrap

I went to culinary school. The service was good. The food was not. It's nice that they have a selection of sauces that are free, but I didn't love any. The wrap was oily and left me with a stomach ache. It tasted less like a middle eastern wrap and more like a panini without cheese. Everything was melted together. It comes automatically with garlic sauce which grossly overpowered the wrap. It was 95% minced chicken and 5% pickles. I've been to Egypt and to Israel, Falafel Inc's seasoning is not good at all. Make a base of cumin, tumeric, coriander, paprika, garlic powder and onion powder, it'll elevate the flavors. Definitely not worth $14. Why do you charge $14 for a wrap and $8 for a bowl?

No better deal in the city than the $5 falafel sandwich. Delicious and cheap and filling. Their rice bowls are also 10/10.

The falafel Bowl is very good and an economical choice. In general, it is a good place to pick a healthy choice.

This location was much better and their staff were very friendly and helpful. It's a large location and who wouldn't want to grab a bite here and then find a seat at the beautiful waterfront. I ordered the falafel bowl with a side of hummus. Let's just say that for $5 that bowl was extremely generous in quantity and the fresh quality of each item was AMAZING! I thoroughly enjoyed my bowl. The side of hummus was sinfully good! I really enjoyed it then unfortunately not so much this time. The fries were not as I remember, they had a distasteful tarte aftertaste. The falafel sandwich was lukewarm and the toppings were cold(of course). If the falafel was hot the balance of cold toppings would've been manageable. The flavor on the falafel sandwich was good! -Customer service is okay. -Paid street parking/garage parking -NO seating. Takeout only. -Prices are average. Paid $12 for one falafel and fries. Good deal. Hope you enjoy! With love, The Picky Pescatarian

I suspect they do this routinely, with enough orders this money adds up. I have never, not once, received a sandwich from this company, ordered either in-person or on-line, in which they have added the extra hummus for which I paid. It's really weird and again it smacks of theft. In the past I have ordered from the Potomac Ave store and they, too, have skipped the hummus on the sandwich. I also requested an order of hummus and pita. The pita is stale. And No, I'm not merely frustrated - it is actually stale. The hummus is cool, yet it runs like water. wt heck, seriously. The sandwich itself was meek and tired looking compared to the sandwich I had at Mamouns in NYC over the weekend. What a waste of money this place is.

The service was SUPER fast--perfect for a busy lunch/dinner rush-- and the price was very reasonable. The falafel itself was crispy on the outside, soft and flavorful on the inside, and everything tasted fresh. I'll say the nice thing first, though, which is that they have a nice water dispenser with little cups between the register (where you order) and the food display (where you pick out your fixings and receive your order). So you can have a sip of water while you're waiting the two or three minutes it takes to get your food. I had the "schnitzel," which turned out to be just chunks of breaded/fried chicken breast. Real schnitzel (which this is NOT) is flattened and tenderized by pounding it thin and flat. These were just big, tough chunks, which of course have to be a little overcooked to be cooked through to the center. So that was, to this schnitzel devotee, a disappointment. I guess if you know you're just getting chicken "tenders," it might seem better. The laffa flatbread it was wrapped in had a leathery texture that I did not enjoy, and did not finish. The various fixings I tried--vegetable salads and dips--were good, though. So it was not a complete fail. But for the price there are a lot of places--even some on the very same block--that make a far better meal, and offer a real dining experience to boot. For the full experience, I ate in. And really, the place is a dump. The tabletop was sticky; I had to put down napkins to keep my elbows clean. The sound of a fan dominated the space. They don't seem to have changed the furniture since the Astor days (the service counter is the same, too), though it seems dirtier and more dilapidated and less decorated than it was then. The self-busing stand sort of makes the point that it's really not trying to be more than a takeout joint. At this price point, I expect more. It really made me miss Astor.

Some hours ago--never mind how long precisely--having little or no provisions in the pantry, and nothing particular to interest me at home, I thought I would stroll about Georgetown and see the Levantine offerings of the city. It is a way I have of driving off the spleen and regulating the digestion. Whenever I find myself growing grim about the mouth; whenever it is a damp, drizzly November in my soul; whenever I find myself involuntarily pausing before mediocre sandwich shops, and bringing up the rear of every uninspired lunch line; and especially whenever my hunger gets such an upper hand of me, that it requires a strong moral principle to prevent me from deliberately stepping into the street, and methodically knocking people's hats off--then, I account it high time to get to Yellow as soon as I can. This is my substitute for pistol and ball. With a philosophical flourish Cato throws himself upon his sword; I quietly take to the cafe. There is nothing surprising in this. If they but knew it, almost all men in their degree, some time or other, cherish very nearly the same maritime longing towards a perfectly wood-fired pita. Stand at the counter of Yellow, your eyes fixed upon that golden, puffy vessel, blistered from the hearth. Why did the old Persians hold the sea holy? Why did the Greeks give it a separate deity? I found my answer when I plunged into the hummus--a swirling, creamy expanse of whipped chickpea, earthy za'atar, and rich sesame. As every one knows, meditation and tahini are wedded for ever. The pita, warm and impossibly soft, served as my vessel, navigating the golden pools of olive oil just as a Nantucket ship cuts through the Atlantic. There is magic in that dough, pulling you away from the shore of the mundane and into a deeper, richer abyss of flavor. If you are feeling a damp drizzle in your soul, do not take to the sea to drive off the spleen. Take to Yellow. Five stars.
