This place is amazing. Anyone who knows me knows that I eat like the pickiest of 4 year olds. I assume that if I haven't tried something before, it's because I don't like it. So needless to say I eat the same thing pretty much every day. I walk by this place on a daily basis and EVERY day the line is out the door. I figured that has to be a good sign and decided I was going to try it. I got a drink and the chicken kebob plate which included a chicken kebob, rice, salad and a falafel for about $10, not bad for lunch in downtown Boston. Oh.Em.Gee was it good. I ate half for lunch and still had more than enough to bring home for dinner. I had never tried a falafel before (shocker, I know..) but I absolutely loved it. I ended up going back again today and getting the same thing...I think this is going to be my new go-to lunch spot. Just went here during my lunch break. The line moves quickly, the staff are friendly and offer you a falafel as you are ordering your meal. They certainly fill the clam shell box to the brim- I ordered the Vegetarian Falafel plate with rice (~$8) and I have enough food for 2 meals. I had the special king wrap, what the lady working there recommended. It's made up of shredded lamb and beef with falafel spread with hummus on a layer of pita. The wrap is quite heavy. The falafel isn't that bad, not the most authentic tasting ever, but the meat was cold. After eating half the wrap, had to stop as I didn't feel well afterwards, partially because I saw a guy in the back cut the pickles with his bare hands. The concept of the store is nice and the ambiance is open and clean, but the quality of the food I had is unfortunately ok. Maybe some of the rest of the items are better. read more

Was walking through Boston with my niece and she had never tried falafel before, so we thought why not stop here? I got a falafel wrap with tabbouleh and hummus and she got a king's combo with lamb. I made the mistake of skipping breakfast and running errands, so when I saw the long line, I was tempted to abandon my plan and run to quicker fare. They move very fast and they offer a sample of the falafel while you order. It is incredibly crispy and crunchy but not dry at all. Best falafel and hummes ever! This place was recommended to me by an Armenian friend of mine and I've been a regular ever since. I always get the same thing...the chicke kabob salad plate. Again, the hummus is amazing and the falafel is the best I've ever had. The chicken is perfectly seasoned, tender and juicy. I sometimes actually get cravings for this dish. I love Falafel King. The falafel is phenomenal and they have a flat screen television that rotates images of the owner dressed in chef's attire presenting various arrangements of falafel and/or chicken on plates. I find this inexplicably entertaining. They have one of the most incredibly confusing menus in Boston considering that they basically offer shawarma and/or falafel as either a salad or a wrap. The schawarma is typical charcoal grilled skewers, which always come out tender and delicious. The vegetable and salad options always taste fresh. I keep going back at least once every few weeks because they live up to their namesake and their hummus is ridiculously good. While you are waiting in line, they hand you a free falafel dipped in the hummus. My only complaint is that the hot sauce needs a little more heat. Gets very busy at lunch time. read more

Came here for lunch yesterday, surprisingly good for an area known for mediocre food catered towards the office worker lunch crowd. First, the free falafel dipped in hummus they gave me in the beginning was pretty dang tasty. The falafel was nice and crispy (I know I know, legit falafel isn't supposed to be fried, blah blah sue me), the hummus was good too. They almost made me change my mind about ordering lamb kebab, almost. I'm glad I stuck to my original order though, because the lamb patties were very nicely seasoned. We stopped into Falalfel King on a Tuesday afternoon in Boston. The line was long, so obvioulsy the food must be good. Hubby and I both ordered the falafal wrap, mine with pickles, and his without. We both got spicy sauces, and the preparer was kind to provide us with whole pieces of falafel to sample. Crisp, chickpea, and all around a-ok. The wrap was great. Hubby and I agreed that the falafel wrap + pickles gave the extra dimension of flavor that was necessary to make it good. The portion was very large, so we ate half there, and half much later. I must say the flavors maintained for up to 4 hours later as we munched on the wrap. Overall, A-OK place. Would be tempted to try their kabobs at another date. read more

YES. The other falafel king was in a very undesirable location. This place is bright, clean, and I don't need to worry about being stabbed while waiting. The line goes very fast during the lunch rush and I like having that extra few seconds to throw the free falafel into my container - I don't want to waste this munching in line. Vegetarian combo plate is perfect - heap of simple salad, big splatter of hummus and baba ghanoush, a couple falafels, grape leaves, and tabouli, with tax $8.51. I don't even like grape leaves but with even the smallest bit of hummus, can more than enjoy them. Half-pita added in works well to get every last bit of that oh so awesome hummus. read more

I'll start off by saying that the servings sizes are huge! Unlike a lot of places in the area, you definitely won't leave here hungry. I'm pretty picky about my falafel - love it when it's good, despise it when it's bad. My fiance and I were out running errands and, starving, stumbled upon this happy hole in the wall. Since then we've been back a couple of times. The service is always fast, the portions are big for the price, and the food hits the spot for both of us. Only 2 qualms: wish there was a hotter "hot" sauce and wish the evening/weekend hours were better.
