    Chicken and lamb platters
    Vicki M.

Got me some good old comfort food as I was craving the chicken and rice platter and the fish and the crispy chicken wings! Went here and got take out. Luckily nobody was there and so I was glad that we would get our order quickly! We ordered 3 platters - chicken, kofta kebab and lamb over rice with all toppings - which is essentially fresh veggies lettuce tomatoes cucumber onions, plus white sauce and got the green sauce on the side. No red hot sauce this time! Also got the 2 piece fried fish and the 6 piece chicken wings. There is a bit of a wait for the fish and the wings because they have to cook it fresh and that's totally fine by me! We sat on the couch while we waited. The inside decor is fun and bright with the red walls and food art. Service was friendly! They do have a lot of take out/ delivery orders as people came in to pick up orders. So I'm glad they are doing good business. Also got the baklava which was okay. Overall great meal as always very filling and tasty and so affordable! Keeps us coming back for more!

Combo over Rice Chicken and Lamb (I ate some before taking the photo so it doesn't look as beautiful as it should)

Had to order from here after arriving late in Boston and honestly I was skeptical with all the negative reviews here. DONT LET THEM KEEP YOU AWAY FROM THE DELICIOUSNESS. idk the experience of everyone else on here (a lot of them seem to be delivery issues rather than food) but I got my Uber eats order just fine and let me tell you - it was delicious!! Super tender meat, fluffy rice, green sauce slapped a lil white sauce on the side was good (and also in packets!), and the veggies had a good freshness and crunch. I think this place is a chain (I've had it in ATL) and it seems to be consistent in quality. So good!

Absolutely delicious! First time having it and wanted something similar to halal guys and so found this and it was SO good we had it for lunch then REORDERED it for dinner hahah. That speaks volume! Service was quick and everything looked clean as well! It was empty when we went but we sat down and ate and saw a bunch of people coming for delivery orders so clearly it has good traffic! Would recommend and eat there again for sure if i come to boston and am near that area.

    Chicken Sandwich

I was pleasantly surprised--the food surpassed my expectations. I really enjoyed the Philly cheese steak sandwich, and my friends liked theirs too: the fried chicken sandwich and lamb gyro. When they say spicy, they mean spicy! It is casual dining, fast-food style. Especially because there are not a lot of halal places in the area, this was a great find for us!

Staple in our food (we took it out)
    Eugene W.

The food is actually pretty good, and they give you a good quantity too. Generous with the meat. HOWEVER, we ordered through postmates and got a staple mixed into our food. That is unacceptable. It wasn't on the edge of the food, it was hidden in the food. Also, there are no staples in the food packaging, so I'm not sure how it even got in there. This is an extremely dangerous food safety issue and needs to be addressed immediately.

Tried their spicy wings for the first time. Pretty much wing dings size. There was a kick to the wings. Not going to lie, I actually liked it a lot lol dip with their white sauce, it was really good. Since they changed their packaging, they have been way better. Portion wise too.

Combo rice platter with side of pita and fries

My new go-to halal joint in the Fenway area! I recently ordered takeout from here and was super happy with the experience - not only were the prices reasonable, but the portions were massive. I ordered the combo rice platter with a side of pita and fries. The meat, veggies, and sauces in the platter were delicious. The flavors meshed together very well. The rice tasted a bit different than some other halal places I've been to in the past, but it was still tasty. The pita was nice and fresh and the fries were absolutely perfect. Everything was super filling and satisfying! Highly recommend if you're looking for some easy, tasty takeout.

What I Ordered: Chicken over Rice Platter * chicken was on the drier side Kofta Kebab over Rice Platter * chicken was well seasoned, has a meatball texture, and had a very slight spice Falafel over Rice Platter * falafel was dry and hard Combo over Rice Chicken and Lamb * lamb had a meatball texture * overall very delicious and filling 9/10

Delicious food hidden in plain sight. I think I've eaten here every week this past month lol. It delivers consistently tasty food, has quick service, and is the definition of bang for your buck. Let the food speak for itself and go to Shah's. gogogo.

Chicken and lamb with ONE line of "white sauce"

I am not AT ALL happy with this place. And you just keep taking money with NO CONSEQUENCE HORRIBLE! Your buy one get one free ...is a lure to get people to buy. My Pita bread didn't arrive.either that was a disappoint. You've guys screwed up so many orders and I've given so many chance but this is it. My Uber order arrived a bit earlier than expected The plates were warm at best. I ordered your shops bottle of hot sauce for 7.99. Instead ...you guys send me that little dot of hot sauce. Again HORRIBLE! I don't know what it is I don't care what it is I'll NEVER order from here again. You guys are horrible at following instructions. HORRIBLE!

Food: I got the salad platter with chicken & lamb. It was rather bland in flavor, all I could taste is diluted white sauce which should be more creamy, tangy, and garlicky. They did put a good amount of chicken and taste rather tender, but ediable at best. The lamb wasn't as gamey which isn't bad but I didn't nearly had the same amount as I did with the chicken. Service: The service was fine, they made sure I got everything I wanted in my salad. There's muiltiple team-members helping you out in the stations so pay attention to where your food is going as each section moves. Ambiance:It was during a rush after a concert ended so it was a bit chaotic, it's small and def gives off the vibe of when you're out and hungry, this is the place to grab a quick bite. Location accommodation: They have a limited ourdoor seating and there barely side parking as this is near a college so theres quite amount of people traffic passing by.

I have ordered chicken over salad, i requested no tomatoes but it had tomatoes. No fork came with the food. The chicken is very spicy and that wasnot explained that it comes spicy as a default. I would not buy from them again. And do not recommend them to anyone.

It's a cute little spot with plenty of seating inside, and they also had a nice outdoor parklet that would be great in good weather. We asked to sit at the bar so we could watch the cooks in action, which was really fun. We ordered the cheese topokki (soft rice cake, fish cake, vegetable, & mozzarella in Korean spicy sauce) & the beef bulgogi bowl (fried marinated beef, vegetables, steamed rice & side of soup). The cheese topokki was just as good as we remembered - chewy, flavorful, comforting, & a little bit weird. The cheese was poorly distributed, but it was still very tasty. The beef bulgogi bowl was really underwhelming. Firstly, it was very little food. We were promised vegetables, but there were only a few scarce onions & zucchini pieces mixed in. It was also dry. It was devoid of moisture & sauce, so we added some from the fridge at home. The side of soup was a joke. It filled only about 2/3 of the container & looked so sad, we wondered if it was the sauce that we we so desperately needed. Nope, just a meager amount of watered down miso soup. So the conclusion - great topokki, sub-par bulgogi, non-existent soup.

For the food, we got the tuna kimbap, Seoul toppoki, and bulgogi hot pot for two. Everything was SO good. The ingredients were fresh and the food was flavorful (sweet from the bulgogi, savory from the mushrooms, spicy from the toppoki sauce, salty from the tuna, and sour from the pickled vegetables). The price for the portion size was a great value and we ended the night feeling very full and even had to pack up an entire container of the hotpot for two that we didn't finish. Overall, we had a great time and I can't wait to come back again. This might be my new favorite Korean food spot in the Boston area.

I'm so glad Uyghur cuisine has made its way to Boston…read more I was first introduced to it years ago at Silk Road in Cambridge, and I've been hoping more Uyghur restaurants would open ever since. Jahunger truly delivers. The restaurant immediately sets the mood. Candlelight, the scent of incense, traditional instruments on the walls, and pothos plants growing from mounted glass jars all make the space feel warm and inviting. One warning: unless you arrive around 6 p.m. or earlier, expect a wait. (It's popular.) Oh, and the food is worth it. The leek and egg dumplings tasted homemade in the best way: slightly rustic, fresh, and delicious. The hand-pulled noodles are the stars. Every noodle dish we ordered had the perfect chewy texture. My favorite was the Laghman noodles, though the Jahunger noodles were a close second with their rich spices and satisfying heat. The mee fen and stir-fried green beans both packed a respectable kick and leaned a little salty, but not enough to keep me from happily polishing them off. Don't forget the tea! It's beautiful to look at, filled with all sorts of ingredients (Chinese jujubes!), and only lightly sweet, which I appreciated. Then came the showstopping honey cake. The cake itself was fluffy, while the filling had a firmer, almost sticky texture with deep caramelized flavors that reminded me of burnt caramel in the best possible way. Paired with what tasted like coffee ice cream, it was the perfect ending to the meal. Jahunger is one of those restaurants that makes you want to come back before you've even paid the bill. I'm so glad Jahunger made it to Cambridge; the Boston food scene is richer because it's here.

We came in and the restaurant was filled with younger people who were hanging out. To start off we ordered lamb dumplings and scallion pancakes. I was familiar with both of these appetizers and they were the same as anywhere else. To eat, we ordered chicken stew. The waitress told us that one stew was spicy and the other was non spicy. We decided to order the non-spicy one since others were not big fans of spice. When we received the food it was very spicy. It was hard to eat and we did not enjoy it. The waitress came back and thought we wanted the spicy chicken stew which was incorrect. She apologized and wanted to switch it. At this point we were running late so it didn't matter. We just packed it and gave it to our family member who likes spice. This place was okay. I will have to come back here and give it another chance.

Sultan: The lamb was stewed for a long time until incredibly tender and melted in your mouth, with absolutely no gamey taste. Although it's called "sweet lamb", it didn't have a strong sweetness; instead, it had a typical mild, complex flavor of onions, cumin, coriander seeds, and other spices. The Yellow Rice was likely seasoned with turmeric and saffron, making it very flavorful. The basmati rice grains were distinct but not too dry, perfect for mixing with the sauce. The White Garlic Sauce wasn't overpowering; it mainly added a touch of acidity, which, along with the cool, sweet corn, helped to cut through the greasiness. Actually, it was completely different from any other Moroccan lamb stew I've had. It was more like Yemeni Mandi, but with more layers of flavor and a more universally appealing taste. As a fusion dish, how can it not be considered a success?
