The inside may be divey but the food has lots of flavor. We got a chicken shwarma plate and a side of tabouli (we wanted a side of babaganoush but they were out). I was unimpressed when I walked in and saw that everything was already prepared. It kind of reminded me of subway. It was lunchtime, but it didn't appear busy, and I was the only one in there. When I say everything was pre-prepared, I mean that they had the fryer basket sitting up above the oil with previously cooked falafel and fries, not under a heat lamp or anything. When I ordered a falafel and fries, they didn't put them in the fryer to heat up or anything, just made the food with what was there. I wasn't a fan of anything, to be honest. The falafel was wicked salty and just didn't seem fresh. The pita was taken out of a pre-packaged bag and was thin and dry. I could only eat about half, and I always finish my plate. I don't frequent this kind of food often so can't give a good comparison - but it was definitely good and I ate all of it. I had the lamb shawarma wrap and it's was amazing! I honestly wasn't expecting anything spectacular, just looking for a semi-healthy lunch to fill me up and this surpassed my expectations by a mile. The wrap was so flavorful and the vegetables, seasonings and sauce were just right. You could taste the high quality meat, but also got tangy, sour and crisp vegetables with each bite. Since they opened (very recently) I've wanted to try the food here. We went yesterday with my husband and we had the shawarma plate and the kafta kabob plate. Portions are super generous and food is very tasty. Besides the meat it comes with rice, hummus, salad and fries. The garlic sauce is amazing. Very good customer service, the man who attended us was very friendly. The space is a little bit small, so they have a few tables if you want to eat there. We chose take out. So amazing, delicious and generous portions! I was visiting town for the Science Museum with my 7-year-old daughter (notoriously a picky eater) but I had to get my hands on some type of food we don't have at home, and this was a close walk from the hotel. While checking out the hotel's expansive lobby, I was asking if it was ok to bring food back and eat there, since there are not tables in the rooms. They said no, but when I mentioned where we were going to do takeout (they only had takeout or delivery when we went/C-19 rules) from the Schwarma guys, they advocated to definitely go there (even though we could've ordered hummus platter and falafel at the hotel.) I am SO glad we did! We got a babaganoush sandwich and the vegetarian sampler platter. The baba sammy was so tasty, smoky and oozy babaganoush, and delish pickles and fresh salad. The pita itself was even awesome. But my daughter's platter was also a treat. They included rice, falafel balls, foul muddamas (my request), hummus, olives and grape leaves (and a salad too) and my kid is still feasting her way through it, making her own little wraps with rice and cucumbers and hummus. She won't touch the falafel but they are honestly the best falafel I have possibly ever eaten (and I used to frequent Mamoun's in NYC weekly.)
