Food And service was great. I usually have my gyros deconstructed during purchase -small box of Lamb -pita bread (4) -cucumbers -tomatoes or olives -cucumber sauce in a cup. Then once home or work, reconstruct the above into the uploaded photo.

Needed a quick bite to eat, and since my wife isn't with me on business, I can try some local gyros. So I stopped at Sam's Gyros. I had a sandwich combo with fries and a soda. The fries were just fries, and they put some seasoning on them. But like I said, just fries. I was here for the gyro! It was really good and there was a lot to the order!! Probably should have ordered some extra pita bread, because there's plenty of meat and toppings. Speaking of toppings, you can select from lots of choices. Not many gyro restaurants offer this many toppings. Onion, tomato, feta, lettuce, peppers, cucumbers, and more. My only complaint?? Not a fan of their tzatziki sauce!! Very thin and runny, and absorbed quickly by the sandwich. I ordered a side of extra sauce, and I probably should have ordered even more. I was not impressed by the sauce. The service was quick, and the restaurant was clean. I just recommend bringing your own sauce.

I have been eating here since 2007 when I moved to Kentucky. The location has since moved but still providing good customer service and good food. There is nothing fancy about this place but it's clean and nice to sit and have lunch and conversation. read more

Nice guy. My gyros came out of a warmer bin and was sherreded. The fete cheese is shredded. The tzatziki sauce was salty and had no dill. I do like crinkle cut fries. Wish I could give the guy a better rating read more

Diamond in the rough! The lamb is perfect! Fresh, seasoned, warmed, and cut into manageable pieces. I hate when people serve cold lamb. Portion size is very generous! You won't leave hungry. I have not ate in the restaurant but have ordered food for lunch at work from here and it's always great with one exception. My favorite item is the gyro, they always load it down with plenty of protein and veggies, to say it's a 2 handed is an understatement, 3 hands would be better and it is just a messy good time, highly recommend. I've also gotten the grilled mix with rice, the proteins were super flavorful and juice and over all amazing. Now is the downfall the rice. If you have ever bought the microwave rice from the grocery store this is exactly how the rice felt and tasted. A bit hard and waxy and had a distinct taste that I've only tasted with microwaved rice. But over all place is great and recommend just beware the rice could be iffy. read more

Great value! The platter had a substantial serving of rice, salad (lettuce/tomato/cucumber/feta), five large chicken breast strips, garlic sauce, and a lightly toasted pita. The chicken was very well seasoned. My only critique is that they are a bit heavy-handed with the tahini in the hummus, which makes it a little runny, buts its smooth and flavorful. read more

My friend & I were in town for an event so I searched Yelp for lunch ideas. I'm so glad we found Sam's Gyros! The place was super clean & Sam's' brother set us UP! He gave us a sample of the chicken & gyro meat with rice & tzaiki sauce (kind of like ranch only better!) The chicken was crazy tender & the beef was spiced just right. I don't usually get rice but this was plump & kind of buttery. I got a combo meal that added rice & my choice of: cucumber, onion, banana peppers, jalapeños, cheese, tomatoes & then he added the most creamy tzaiki sauce and warm pita bread! It was so so fresh & delicious. Sam - please open a location in Louisville! read more

This place is lagit! It's in a strip mall so it's kinda easy to overlook, but don't. My wife and I got gyro sandwiches with everything on them and baklava. The pita bread was soft, the lamb had great flavor and all the toppings tasted and looked fresh. The baklava was some of the best I've had. read more

My father recommended Sam's Gyros to me and it was a great suggestion, I have gone back a number of times since! The gyro meat is generic frozen that they roast there, and the pitas about the same. But all of the salad items and rice are very fresh and tasty. Every time I've been they pile everything high and completely stuff the togo box and all of the staff are respectful and friendly. If you go, please do yourself a favor and try the baklava!!! It is hands down the best I've ever had. I asked about it and they said they have someone make it just for them and I totally believe it. I have "paid it forward" and bought some for randos behind me in line that have said they haven't tried it yet, it is so worth it! read more

I have supported this restaurant once a month since they opened. Today, that changed. When I arrived, the "chef" was outside with his gloves on drinking from a water bottle, on his cell phone, and smoking. When he re-entered the restaurant he went straight to work, touching, ready to eat food. He never washed his hands. That is disgusting! I don't want to consume your saliva, I don't want the germs from the door handle, and I sure don't want all of the bacteria from your cell phone! read more

The food is always good and mostly fresh. Everything seems to be around $13/$14 in my experiences. Longest I've ever waited for a single dish was 5 min. Fast and efficient. Get as much "sauce" as you'd like and good luck finishing these portions. read more

Mostly due to the fact that I'm not from New Albany and just so happened to be working on a project around the corner.. Anywho... Long story short... They had Gyros.... Ohhhh Myyyy Goodness.... And they did it Just Right... I can tell the meat was shaved (as it should be) and not pre cut and packaged (as it shouldn't be).. and the freshness and flavor was ALL there... oh and the seasoned fries complimented my sandwich perfectly. When we asked for more pita with our mains after receiving side orders of hummus, we were asked how many individual pieces we wanted. None of us received the rice that comes with our mains, and when we asked our server just agreed but it was never brought out. My fries were also forgotten and by the time I asked I was told the kitchen had already closed so I couldn't get them. They kindly removed the fries from my bill and gave me a complimentary dessert. Our empty glasses also remained on the table for the entirety of the dinner. At the end of the meal, we all requested separate checks, but three of them were incorrect and had to be fixed. As we were leaving, we could hear the employees cheering because we had left. We greatly appreciated the discount our group received.
