Pretty good! I don't think it was life changing & pretty $$$ for what it was, but that's expected from a food truck! It came out quick and was fresh so definitely a solid farmers market meal!

Great place to get falafel and gyros. Super friendly service and fast too. Lots of food, great portion sizes. I highly recommend and would come back. One of the best garlic fries I've had too! Very fresh and delicious.

Do not Hesitate, take the Hesitator! Found their food truck on Bellevue Farmers market and took the Hesitator. That's an explosion of flavors which has Falafel, chicken shwarma, beef gyro, hummus, dolma, Arab salad, purple slaw, pickled veggies, garlic aioli, tahini, fermented mango sauce and homemade pita...and each one of them has their distinct delicious taste! The Falafel was awesome that we went in for an extra round along with hummus and pita. You will not find any softer pita anywhere else! Friendly staff!

Falafel Salam was absolutely great! I have lived in West Seattle for a while now, but did not get the chance to check out this cool place with delicious food until recently. I was having a Greek food craving and researched this place, and decided to check it out. The food was absolutely delicious. I had the Falafel sandwich in a pita pocket with feta cheese and the Garlic fries with feta cheese. The food was fresh and had a great taste. It was really great Greek food, and they even make the Falafel Sandwich in an Iranian style if you would like it that way. They have great vegan and vegetarian options as well. As a vegetarian, I was pleased. The staff was very nice and kind and provided good customer service. The restaurant is small with a very laid back and casual atmosphere. Overall, I really enjoyed it and will be eating here again! Highly recommend!

Came here for lunch after doing a walk with friends at nearby Lincoln Park. It's kind of unassuming at first as many of the spots on this drag are, but this food is legit. I got the Chicken shawarma with Rice (would've went pita but decided against gluten this visit). I wasn't sure which sauce to try so the young lady gave me a dab of both which was really cool. I got the Greek fusion purple slaw which has tzatziki, garlic herb aioli and feta. It may have been built up hunger but this was SO good. I don't know what kinda sauce they gave me additionally but it was awesome. It reminded me of Halal Guys (Those from back in NYC know what I'm talkin' about). I tried some of the falafel and hummus. Also, good. Above average. My friend got some Garlic fries for the table, they were OK but the real star of the show was the Coriander ketchup. If you get fries, make sure it comes with this. To wash it all down I got a mint lemonade. Pretty good, not the best of this type of lemonade I've had, but good and not bad at $3.50. My only criticism here is they serve you up in those plastic containers that are technically reusable. You know the ones. You can rinse them out and recycle them. Can't really do that here, unless you take it with you. Why not have compostable packaging?? Besides that though, this is some good eatin'. If you're in the area and looking for falafel, shawarma or other meditterean or similar fare. It's here and it's good.

After a cold, damp walk by the water, my friends and I were in need of a hearty lunch. We decided on falafel since it's something we all enjoy, and this place did not disappoint. I had some of the crispiest falafel balls ever! I ordered the rice bowl and it comes with a small salad in addition to your choice of flavor/sauce. I had the middle eastern style and the spicy green condiment. It was quite spicy! My only criticism is that the sauce wasn't very flavorful. I actually tasted the tzatziki and liked it better! Also the loaded fries are not to be missed! So good! The cool thing is that they also have a fridge full of condiments and ready to go sides that you can take home and enjoy later.

Large plate (sampler) falafel was the star!

We decided on Falafel Salam food truck while at the Ballard Farmer's Market. The customer service was excellent - although busy at the farmar, the cashier was calm and humorous. We couldn't decide what we wanted so my partner and I split the Large plate (sampler). There was a table to stand near at Martin's Garden while a musician played; it was nice. Food from best liked to least: Falafel was amazing! Crispy and fresh but could have used a little more spice. Pita was the doughiest I've ever seen. Good flavor. The chicken was moist and delicious. The hummus was a bit chunky/grainy but good. The salad was fresh and light. The gyro was courser than I've had elsewhere and good flavor. The purple pickled cabbage wasn't great on its own but paired nicely with a bite of either meat. Solid thing to try while shopping!

I appreciate that they are doing curbside pick-up during COVID although parking can be tricky in front of their restaurant. We tried the chicken and lamb gyro sandwiches, chicken and lamb gyro rice bowls, hummus, babha ganouj , greek fries, beet salad, and side of pita. Their pita and wraps are amazing, I loved the Chicken Shawarma while my husband and daughter enjoyed the greek lamb gyro one (it was too salty for my liking). I've never had such pillowy pitas before! Our other favorite dish was falafel and they definitely live up to their name--these were the best falafels I've ever had. The other items were fine just unfortunately I didn't enjoy their renditions as much as other restaurants we've frequented (eg I like Kirkland's Santorini Grill gyro and greek fries more). With that said, we'll definitely be heading back. Very clean restaurant and they were friendly with getting our order ready quickly! Just next time intending on planning to order wraps and falafels primarily!

Thoroughly pleasing food truck at Ballard Farmers Market. Tucked at the first turn past the market entrance, it hosts good variety, scrumptious portions, and fast service. Joined a short line of two couples, line doubled in size after I left. Service - 10/10 -- Friendly and fast. Zero hiccups, efficient, food was out in about two minutes. Ambience - 7/10 -- Well-tucked corner, no comments here. Quality - 8/10 -- Got a chicken schwarma salad in a box. Packed well, tasty, excellent execution for a food truck. Came with half a pita, a fairly standard pita. Got 3/5 spicy, green sauce is indeed spicy. Delicious, would order again. Value - 8/10 -- under $15 total for a filling box salad on the go. Premium for a food truck, but well worth for deliciousness and health. Yelp Check-in offer gives free Dolmas! I was tempted by the Hesitator combo for the variety, but being in the same box, I expected a bit less value. And also felt like getting a salad, so passed on that. Overall - 8.5/10 -- Great food truck, would recommend and eat again, especially for on-the-go!

    Hummus & Pita

I stopped by this food truck for a quick bite when they were parked outside of Chuck's Hop Shop and was VERY happy about that decision -- I grabbed a hummus with pita and it was probably some of my FAVORITE hummus I've had in a hot minute! The pita was SO fluffy and the hummus was spiced to perfection. It was perfect to share and snack on as we were drinking our beers and the guy running the truck was very sweet as well.

Falafel Pita Wrap ($10.75). Lamb Gyro Pita Wrap ($14.25). The Hesitator Combo ($15.75). Baklava ($3).

For some reason I tried it again today and was once again disappointed. Placed an online order to go: Greek fries and a side of gyro meat to throw on top, since sandwiches and bowls are $13-$16! Insane. I saw the bowls, they're not large. Not a great deal by any stretch, but that's lunch hour in Seattle I guess. The fries were soggy, barely any feta on top, and the "gyro" meat is just freakin' weird. It tastes like lamb meatballs. Not at all what I expected. On top of this, my order was not ready and I ended up waiting 15 minutes. Three people in line in front of me and three behind, but just one guy behind the counter taking and prepping orders, tickets popping out of the machine left and right until he cried uncle for some help. "Wow it got busy fast, went from no orders to backed up!" Yeah dude, it's 12:15. People get off at 12, call it in, take a piss and start walking to the restaurant, just like every lunch rush every day in a busy commercial core. I also dislike having to wait in line for a pickup order. I'm in a hurry. If you can't accommodate, I can go somewhere else. Just leave my order out! I did grab a jar of grilled preserved lemons to take home. Not sure what to use them for but they look delicious. All in all, not great, again.

Yalla is a walk up window, and there are just a couple of benches right outside where you can eat, and according to other reviews you can also go to Montana Bar next door with your food. The menu is posted in a couple places right next to the ordering window, and it's pretty easy to parse. Almost everything there is what I'd consider a "portable food", meaning something you don't need a plate, fork, and knife to eat, which makes sense given that it's not a sit down restaurant. They have veggie saj, meaty saj, mezze, a few sides, and a dessert. I really like their concise menu. We tried the baba ghanoush ($9.5), which comes with saj on the side, a batinjan and labneh saj wrap ($12), and a halloumi grilled cheese (halloumi grilled inside saj, $13). As you can tell, the saj underpins everything at Yalla, and their saj is excellent. Warm, soft, flaky, and tearable, it is perfect for both dipping and wrapping and grilling. The batinjan and labneh wrap is bursting (literally) with tender grilled eggplant, a rich sauce, and tangy, creamy labneh. It is truly one of the most delicious eggplant dishes I've ever had. The halloumi grilled cheese definitely hits the spot, and is more filling than you think by looking at it. Baba ghanoush is so smooth and flavorful, and I love the pomegranate seeds on top! The folks who work there are super nice, very friendly, and food comes out quickly. Prices are very reasonable, and I will definitely be back to try some of their meaty saj! This place is going into my regular rotation, for sure.

We went on a Saturday around 2pm and it wasn't too busy at the takeout window. The restaurant is only takeout - there are benches right next to the takeout window, but there are only enough spots for 8 - 12 people (2-3 people per bench). The only other seating is at the nearby street seating offered by the neighboring bars, which I can see being restricted during peak hours. Parking can be very difficult if you plan on driving, there is only street side parking that is usually full, and nearby paid parking in lots. Service is fast, after we got our order, we only waited 5-8 minutes for our food. We got their recommended Soujouk (Beef) and Cheese Wrap for $16. The wrap is long, I would say about 13 - 14 inches long, and I can definitely seeing most people getting full after enjoying one of these. The flavors are nice and you can taste the spices from the sausage - I could taste cinnamon front and center with other earthy spices lingering in an aftertaste. The wrap is very decadent, the cheese is hearty and indulgent and that with the spiced sausage and textural difference with the cucumbers is pleasing. Do note with how indulgent this wrap is, you will accumulate a ton of oil in your wrapper as you enjoy it - a nap afterwards is in your future if you eat a whole wrap! I think that Yalla Seattle is a good stop to try these cuisines in a casual manner and the price is reasonable. There are some other items on the menu that kept my attention and I would totally revisit to try the other items offered by this restaurant.

We originally went because we had seen good reviews for Almanqal Mediterranean Grill. When we got there, the server mentioned it's basically the same place but with a different menu, so we decided to give it a try. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. The food took quite a while to come out and when it finally arrived, it wasn't even hot. The bread honestly tasted like something bought from a grocery store. The rice was very bland, and although the salad was actually really good, the chicken was extremely dry, chewy, and lacked flavor. The presentation looked nice, but the taste just didn't match. The portions were also quite small, and the prices felt very high for what you get. The service was just okay overall. Maybe they are still new and working things out, but for the price and portion size it just didn't feel worth it. Overall, it felt like a waste of time and money considering the quality and quantity of the food.

We were in the Wallingford area and searched on Yelp for a place to eat and opted for Almanqal. The…read morerestaurant itself is a bit old but doable. The décor is function over form, i.e. basic. There were two staff members at the front, both of whom also prep food, cook, or grill. She told us to order at the cash register, but others had their order taken at their table later. While they have tables to sit-down, service was limited. They were also busy with takeout orders during the peak dinner time of 6pm. It wasn't until the end of dinner rush that they walked around the tables to refill water. Understandable given their small family business. The food is pretty good, more at a neighborhood scale; I wouldn't categorize them as 'worth the drive'. Prices are reasonable for the food, not high, not a bargain, either. The Food: Fried Cauliflower with tahini sauce, $10.50 - 4 Stars I have a strong affinity to Mediterranean fried cauliflower. Theirs is slightly soft but crispy on the outside nonetheless. Could be better, but we still liked it. Eggplant pickles, $9.99 - 3 Stars Menu: Grilled Eggplant, garlic, lemon juice, cilantro, The problem with ordering at the cash register is I tend to forget to ask question(s). My eyes lit up with 'grilled eggplant' (which I love) and neglected to ask if this is a hot or cold dish. It is a COLD dish and the keyword is 'pickles'. Chopped bits of pickle things covered the grilled eggplant slices. Cold eggplant is not that good, imo. Lamb Kebab Salad, $18.99 - 3 Stars Again, due to ordering at the register, I forgot to ask what kind of salad. While the lamb kebab pieces are very tender and good, the salad consists of uninspiring iceberg lettuce with tiny bits of tomato and tiny shreds of onions. Minus a star for the salad part. Lamb Kebab, $25 - 4 Stars This dish is served with one appetizer. We chose baba ghanoush. The fact this dish comes with a full-size appetizer makes this much more worthwhile than the salad. The lamb pieces are tender, and the rice is flavorful. The baba ghanoush is also good. Thumbs up for the trio. The overall rating should be 3.5 stars. I normally round down to 3 stars for the minimal service, but I am rounding up to 4 stars for the small family business.
