Falafel Salam is one of my favorite places to grab a bite to eat! The location can be pretty cramped on a busy days but the grab and go is perfect to take and enjoy somewhere. One of the best parts of the Queen Anne's farmer's market is the food truck. IMHO, the best truck is Falafel Salam. I'm partial to the Lamb Kefte Wrap and the Beef Gyro Salad. Another great choice is the vegan friendly, Falafel Salad. I like it a lot, but, I could never be mistaken for a vegan. All the spreads are terrific and fresh. I favour the Babaghanouj (with pita) and the Hummus (also, with pita). If you need more, try a side of their garlic fries. They're pretty darn good. Of course, you can't go wrong with their Dolma, either. Pro Tip: The Hesitator Combo nets you chicken, beef, falafel and shawarma (not sure what's in their shawarma, I shudda asked). You also get purple slaw, Arabic salad, pickled veggies, dolma and hummus for under $20. We've seen the truck at the Bellevue Farmer's Market and Chuck's Hop Shop-CD. Do not Hesitate, take the Hesitator! Found their food truck on Bellevue Farmers market and took the Hesitator. That's an explosion of flavors which has Falafel, chicken shwarma, beef gyro, hummus, dolma, Arab salad, purple slaw, pickled veggies, garlic aioli, tahini, fermented mango sauce and homemade pita...and each one of them has their distinct delicious taste! Had the truck in front of Chuck's Hop Shop. The falafel sandwich was so good! The ingredients are all high quality and fresh, and there is an addictive hummus sauce they put in their sandwiches that makes it so tasty. It's stuffed with veggies and a good number of falafel, and the pita bread is softer and bread-ier than your usual pita, making it texturally a really nice experience and easy to eat. Falafel Salam was absolutely great! I have lived in West Seattle for a while now, but did not get the chance to check out this cool place with delicious food until recently. I was having a Greek food craving and researched this place, and decided to check it out. The food was absolutely delicious. I had the Falafel sandwich in a pita pocket with feta cheese and the Garlic fries with feta cheese. The food was fresh and had a great taste. It was really great Greek food, and they even make the Falafel Sandwich in an Iranian style if you would like it that way. They have great vegan and vegetarian options as well. As a vegetarian, I was pleased. The staff was very nice and kind and provided good customer service. The restaurant is small with a very laid back and casual atmosphere. Came here for lunch after doing a walk with friends at nearby Lincoln Park. It's kind of unassuming at first as many of the spots on this drag are, but this food is legit. I got the Chicken shawarma with Rice (would've went pita but decided against gluten this visit). I wasn't sure which sauce to try so the young lady gave me a dab of both which was really cool. I got the Greek fusion purple slaw which has tzatziki, garlic herb aioli and feta. It may have been built up hunger but this was SO good. I don't know what kinda sauce they gave me additionally but it was awesome. It reminded me of Halal Guys (Those from back in NYC know what I'm talkin' about). I tried some of the falafel and hummus. Also, good. Above average. My friend got some Garlic fries for the table, they were OK but the real star of the show was the Coriander ketchup. If you get fries, make sure it comes with this. To wash it all down I got a mint lemonade. Pretty good, not the best of this type of lemonade I've had, but good and not bad at $3.50. My only criticism here is they serve you up in those plastic containers that are technically reusable. You know the ones. You can rinse them out and recycle them. Can't really do that here, unless you take it with you. Why not have compostable packaging?? Besides that though, this is some good eatin'. After a cold, damp walk by the water, my friends and I were in need of a hearty lunch. We decided on falafel since it's something we all enjoy, and this place did not disappoint. I had some of the crispiest falafel balls ever! I ordered the rice bowl and it comes with a small salad in addition to your choice of flavor/sauce. I had the middle eastern style and the spicy green condiment. It was quite spicy! My only criticism is that the sauce wasn't very flavorful. I actually tasted the tzatziki and liked it better! Also the loaded fries are not to be missed! So good! The cool thing is that they also have a fridge full of condiments and ready to go sides that you can take home and enjoy later. read more

Shimi, the owner is one of my favorite faces to see in West Seattle, he's always been a big supporter of the local community. We decided on Falafel Salam food truck while at the Ballard Farmer's Market. The customer service was excellent - although busy at the farmar, the cashier was calm and humorous. We couldn't decide what we wanted so my partner and I split the Large plate (sampler). There was a table to stand near at Martin's Garden while a musician played; it was nice. Food from best liked to least: Falafel was amazing! Crispy and fresh but could have used a little more spice. Pita was the doughiest I've ever seen. Good flavor. The chicken was moist and delicious. The hummus was a bit chunky/grainy but good. The salad was fresh and light. The gyro was courser than I've had elsewhere and good flavor. The purple pickled cabbage wasn't great on its own but paired nicely with a bite of either meat. Solid thing to try while shopping! read more

I appreciate that they are doing curbside pick-up during COVID although parking can be tricky in front of their restaurant. We tried the chicken and lamb gyro sandwiches, chicken and lamb gyro rice bowls, hummus, babha ganouj , greek fries, beet salad, and side of pita. Their pita and wraps are amazing, I loved the Chicken Shawarma while my husband and daughter enjoyed the greek lamb gyro one (it was too salty for my liking). I've never had such pillowy pitas before! Our other favorite dish was falafel and they definitely live up to their name--these were the best falafels I've ever had. The other items were fine just unfortunately I didn't enjoy their renditions as much as other restaurants we've frequented (eg I like Kirkland's Santorini Grill gyro and greek fries more). With that said, we'll definitely be heading back. Very clean restaurant and they were friendly with getting our order ready quickly! Joined a short line of two couples, line doubled in size after I left. Service - 10/10 -- Friendly and fast. Zero hiccups, efficient, food was out in about two minutes. Ambience - 7/10 -- Well-tucked corner, no comments here. Quality - 8/10 -- Got a chicken schwarma salad in a box. Packed well, tasty, excellent execution for a food truck. Came with half a pita, a fairly standard pita. Got 3/5 spicy, green sauce is indeed spicy. Delicious, would order again. Value - 8/10 -- under $15 total for a filling box salad on the go. Premium for a food truck, but well worth for deliciousness and health. Yelp Check-in offer gives free Dolmas! I was tempted by the Hesitator combo for the variety, but being in the same box, I expected a bit less value. And also felt like getting a salad, so passed on that. I chose the recommended House Salad (Traditional Flavors): Arab salad (cucumber, tomato, cabbage, parsley), tahini and fermented mango sauce. Update: it's not that I don't like this type of food, it's that specifically this one was not good. Owner can't seem to accept feedback and simply relies on "different strokes for different folks" as a response. For the owner to simply say "clearly what you ordered was not your palate" means that they are unwilling to accept feedback. The food was bland. Not just the salad, which who cares about the side salad right? But the entree itself, when compared with other similar Mediterranean restaurants, it just does not compare. If it was cheap, I would maybe understand, but they charge so much for a tiny little takeout box, half of which was the salad. Whereas in other places for the same cost, they would give you a large box, and actually good food. read more

A neighboring community here in Redmond offers a place for food trucks to set up on Friday nights. I decided to walk and check out this week's visitors, Falafel Salam. I don't frequent falafel places, but this was a HIT! I ordered ahead via the web which made me nervous because I don't like cold to-go food. I'm happy to report this worked out perfectly. I waited a few minutes and was sent on my way with a bag full of hot food. When we got home, the kids and I dived into the fluffiest pita on the planet. We dunked our way to heaven in their fresh hummus. We ordered the Hesisator, which was great because I got a bit of everything. The chicken was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The cabbage slaw, and other side dishes were great too. Now the falafel. Wow, cooked a deeper brown than golden, you might think they are burnt, but they are not. They are tasty and not to be missed. Pro tip: sprinkle a little extra salt to kick it up a bit. If you know this truck is going to be near you, do yourself a favor and order ahead as you walk up. Everything is made fresh and made to order. We ordered the house chicken pita, lamb pita with purple Greek fusion, garlic fries, baklava, hummus, mango slushy, and mint lemonade. The pita itself is SO FLUFFY and delicious! Paired with all the tender meats and toppings was a real chefs kiss. My second favorite was the garlic fries - oh my gosh they are to die for! They are topped with garlic herb aoli and sheep milk feta. Be sure to get the mango slushy but it was seriously the best slushy I've ever had! No idea what the hype about this place is. Ain't nothing Greek about the purple sandwich LOL. I've never had a gyro that wasn't a pita it's like a puffy piece of white bread. It didn't taste baaad, but I wouldn't go back. The top of the sandwich has feta, so I was hopeful but under your first few bites there's a bunch of purple cabbage, hummus, and a weird tasting brown sauce. I've had hundreds of different gyros and none of them had anything but white tzatziki sauce--unless it's one marketing itself as North African or w tahini which I want no part of. If you call yourself a Greek gyro, it should taste light, fresh and herbaceous with a hint of warm spice from the meat. Skip this and go to Gyro Hero's down the street or Golden Olive in Lqa is worth the drive... read more

My husband loved their food truck in SLU so we were very happy to find their restaurant in West Seattle. Ordered the chicken shawarma with garlic fries and it was awesome.. the garlic fries was amazing that garlicy dip absolutely divine! The chicken shawarma wrap was very well layered with veggies, flavored chicken, hummus and all the magic to make this one of the best mediterranean restaurants in town.. I wish they added pickled beets to their wraps would have loved it but thats my personal preference.. for folks who order extra spicy be careful so they add the spice at the bottom and layer the veggies and chicken over it.. so when u start eating it you will not feel the spices but towards the bottom of the wrap all spices will kick in.. i wish they spread the spicy sauce on the pita bread so we can get the flavors all throughout.. their pita is divine! We have enjoyed Falafel Salam ever since they parked their food truck at the West Seattle Farmers Market and then were regulars at their brick and mortar in California Ave. We have taken guests and friends here. The staff are incredible. The food and ingredients are top notch! We had a Sunday ritual of the Lamb gyro with purple slaw and a little spice, accompanied by there wonderful falafels. We were surprised to learn that they dropped this from the menu, changing to a meatball type gyro. We tried it. Then the next time we tried the Beef Gyro which they said would be similar to the lamb. Unfortunately, they both were not to our liking. Nothing against the quality just disappointed that our "usual" order had disappeared. Please add it back!! We love you guys! read more

I just thought it was important for me to respond to your message on my feedback reviews several months ago of my experiences at Felafel Salam. When you guys first opened my wife and I were so happy to have a new Greek/Mediterranean restaurant in West Seattle, but on our first venture to your establishment we were very disappointed. My wife suggested that it was opening errors and we should give it another try later. So we did, but your food was still sadly disappointing, in fact, it got worse. Your food content, flavor,  preparation and quality was very much lacking in the traditional style of Greek and Mediterranean food I have had from New York, Chicago and Los Angeles. I have experienced authentic Mediterranean food in Egypt, Morracco and London. Unfortunately your food is way off the mark! I truly believe that the Seattle market doesn't know any better so they think this is quality Mediterranean food, It is not. I did not leave my reviews to be cruel, nasty or with any intention to hurt your business, but rather to provide you with honest feedback to make the changes to improve quality and an authentic product.  You will probably ignore my advice and feedback but I truly hope you don't and make the right adjustments and investments to give the people of Seattle a chance to experience a world class cuisine. Or, Felafel Salam will eventually fail as many other restaurants on California Ave have in the past. I ordered the Lamb Gyro on a Salad Base with House Dressing and Hot Sauce. The lady at the counter was SUPER nice and we had our food in literally minutes. The first byte of the Lamb said it all, the entire combination of Sauce, Salad and Lamb was done up in such a crisp, fresh way, there wasn't a single thing out of place or wrong with it. The people working tonight February 19th were SO rude so much so that they Hung Up on me when I called back to try and get my order corrected. They Told me I ordered something different then what I Know I ordered!!! Then hanging up on me?!!! I have NEVER experienced this type of customer service from this restaurant EVER! This took place on February 19th at 6:55 pm... Whomever these Two workers are they are THE ABSOLUTE WORST!!! I will DEFINITELY Not come back with those two at the front!!! This is a great food truck and one of the best falafels in Seattle. I'm posting this as a three-star review because the line situation at the Wallingford farmers market needs to be fixed. The short staff and general lack of other options means there's always a like of at least six-ten people at any time, translating to maybe a 15-25 minute wait directly in the sun. Since most of us come to the market with young kids, this means either they're standing with us in the sun or running around maybe unattended. If this is at all a possibility, PLEASE explore an online ordering system so that we can put our orders in, receive a text message, and spend the rest of our time enjoying the market / sitting in the shade. Finally made it to this food truck in our neighborhood and they have super delicious food. We got the "a little bit of all combo" and a rice and chicken bowl, everything was fantastic. We loved the juicy chicken, fluffy flatbread, the hummus and garlic sauce were great. They were unfortunately out of the baklava, even though we pre-ordered hours ahead of time. I hope we get a chance to try it the next time, bonus that you can pre-order and secure dinner instead of waiting in line. read more
