This week alone, I have rearranged my schedule and waited at home on three separate days with little to no proactive communication. Every update has required me to reach out first, and when I do, I often feel like I'm inconveniencing the staff simply by asking for information. Considering the significant investment I've made and the service expectations outlined during the sales process and in the agreement, I expected a much higher level of professionalism. Clear communication, confirmed appointment times, and follow through should be standard, not something the customer has to chase down. I do want to recognize Brandon because he has been great when it comes to the actual service. He has been professional, knowledgeable, and thorough while at my home. My frustration is not with him. It's with the overall communication and scheduling process. I simply wish the communication from the office was as proactive and reliable as the service Brandon provides. The work itself may ultimately resolve the issue, but the overall customer experience has been frustrating. Clients should not have to repeatedly follow up just to find out if a technician is coming. I hope Critter Control improves its communication and customer service because the current experience has fallen well below my expectations.

Unfortunately, my…read moreexperience ultimately came down to a lack of transparency and professionalism, especially when it came to the costs and work performed. I was told over the phone and on my invoice that my payment was the final payment, only to receive another invoice afterward. I also clearly declined the ongoing monthly treatment when it was offered, yet someone apparently came to my house afterward without any notice, and I was charged again. I've tried to address this directly by phone and email, but haven't been able to get a satisfactory response. I'm generally not someone who leaves negative reviews, but I felt it was worth sharing my experience so others can make their own informed decision before using the company.

Jerry took $280 plus $50 for a donation to the Wildlife Center on Old Katy Road for a young, nursing mother raccoon whose leg was in a leg trap. He humanely took the trap off her leg, took our money, and promised to drop her off at the Wildlife Center immediately after picking up a possum "that is on the way to the Wildlife Center." Five hours later, and after several calls to Jerry, as well as to the Wildlife Center, he still hadn't dropped the mama off at the Center. He swore he did drop her at the back, but my neighbor actually drove up to the Center to try to find the "back door where wild animals are dropped off" only to find out that there is no such area. She went to the rehoming area of SPCA, where feral cats are dropped off, after Jerry said that's where he brought her, but the ladies inside confirmed that the ONLY place wild animals are brought is to the Wildlife Center, through the front door, and that there is no such back "drop off" place anywhere on the property. An employee of Jerry's company, Kyle, talked to my neighbor while she was at the Wildlife Center, and the manager of the Center shook her head in disbelief at all the double-talk Kyle was delivering at 90 miles an hour, including that there IS a backdoor area, even though everyone at the Center--8-10 people in all, between the Wildlife Center and the Rehoming area of SPCA--confirmed that everything Kyle and Jerry were telling my neighbor was untrue. They also checked to see if there was a Renee who works at the Center, since Jerry told my neighbor that he's known her for years and that she could vouch for him; there is no such employee there. Jerry did send a text of the receipt for the $50 donation I gave him for the Wildlife Center to my neighbor five hours later when he realized that we were actually following up on the situation. I realized quickly that this was a CYA move, so he couldn't be accused of stealing the donation money. I am heartbroken and can't stop crying at the idea that Jerry probably dumped the mama racoon somewhere, pocketed the $280, and called it a day, and now this poor mama is lost somewhere, in agony with a broken leg, possibly still in the sealed box, with nursing babies that are going to die, since we don't know where they are. Jerry and Kyle both are not answering my neighbor's calls now. After reading some of the other reviews that this company seals houses to prevent wildlife from entering and that they do a good job, I realized that they don't limit themselves to animal removal, which is great news for the animals. So, my advice is that if you need your house sealed, you may actually get what you pay for. If you want humane animal removal, do NOT use this company. I am seriously considering taking legal action against them. 5/24/23 Jerry, in response to you now accusing me of setting the leghold trap myself, I responded with this: Nice try, Jerry, but we would NEVER use a leghold trap, which you should know are not only cruel, but ILLEGAL. You are now accusing me of setting this trap. I would stop while you are ahead Jerry. You are only digging your legal hole deeper by making false statements. I don't know who set this trap, but the raccoon dragged itself away, probably to return to its babies, and got stuck in the fence on my property. When I saw this poor creature in distress, I called you and paid you an extra $100 to bring it to the Wildlife Center. Why would I do that if I set the trap myself? Why would I be so distraught that you never took it to the Center? I love how you are now blaming me and not touching on the fact that I paid you to bring this animal to a Center that could save it. Everyone at the Wildlife Center said that you dropped off the donation (after my neighbor called you to find out if you'd been to the Center) but did not leave the racoon. The question is now, not about the money, but what you actually did with the racoon. And you can bet we will never call you for any animal issue; you may be a great resource for animal proofing houses, and I hope you are successful. I just felt a moral obligation to warn others about what happened here. Shame on you, Jerry.

They are professional and kind - a little old school, but in all the best ways! The gentleman, Pete, who comes out to do the HARD work - and it is HARD work - is caring for both humans and pests of all kinds. He is professional and respectful. He works fast and diligently. Best of all, he is super honest and will not stop until the job is done right. They are reasonably priced and they do not try to oversell!!! These guys are good people and they have my business longterm!! In terms of communication, they are a mom & pop shop (local business of people who care), but they are honest! They checked traps I put down and for any signs of rodent life, when they did not find anything - they said that I did not need traps at this time - that the preventative should do it! This is not a fancy franchise operation - they use text better than phone and send invoices by email. They are not perfect - no one is - but they acknowledge when they are wrong and fix it right away. One time, I did not notice an error in my invoice and they texted me to tell me the price was actually lower. They always respond to me and they show up - they always do better work than I anticipated. They quoted over the phone, stuck to the quote, did the work they showed me over the phone. They also showed me where my other exterior spray service has made some exterior staining on my brick and did not try to sell me on anything. Just shared so I could know and talk to the other company to fix it. Highly recommend!
