Definitely not a good experience. We arrived at 6:30 and after a 30-minute wait, our party of 10 was finally seated upstairs with two other large tables and only one server handling the entire area. After having to ask for service, our order was finally taken -- and then the very long wait began. By 9:00, only some of our party had received their food, and unfortunately I was not among them. Service was good and the manager even changed sports to kids TV to occupy our wild kids. The nachos ($16) are awesome! They were the classic kind but loaded with guacamole, sour cream, and queso. They were also a HUGE portion and amazing. If you like nachos, order these! I tried the classic burger ($17) and while good flavor, it was super soggy and fell apart. The food was okay. The bbq was good however the ribs were not. We got the tater tots and they were solid. Wife and I went here on our anniversary weekend and I ran out of drink which is never good. Falcon nest is located at Omni Amelia Island Plantation. As far as I know anyone can eat here even if you are not staying at Amelia Island. My husband and I went here when we stayed at Omni and it very convenient since they have a shuttle from the hotel to Falcon nests. This restaurant has pretty cool theme which is aviation, they have different pictures, planes on the ceiling and many more! They have plenty of seat but since it was Friday night that we went there we waited maybe for 15 minutes. Service was great here, very quick! we ordered the nachos which by the way was ginormous for our appetizer. I ordered the hotdog and my husband ordered their burger. We both liked our dinner and for desserts we ordered the banana pudding and the cookies and cream for to go. We enjoyed going here and we're hoping to go visit soon! read more

Decent food with a high price tag, but great atmosphere! I loved the location of the restaurant because it felt like a summer camp! Plus the decor is an aviation nerd's dream! We were seated quickly and our server was sweet. We ordered the Nachos appetizer with Pulled Pork ($16 plus a whopping $14 for the meat) and they were tasty (and big) but not $30 tasty. The queso and toppings were just on top and not on each layer of the chips, which was annoying considering how big the plate was. The Wings ($16 for 10) were good but nothing super special. And their ranch was not my cup of tea at all - it tasted homemade which I'm all for but it didn't really taste like ranch at all. Everything was delicious! Our server, Joey was very helpful and accommodating. I was able to get onion rings instead of fries with my hotdog and they great! I was also curious about the housemate pickles, and he brought us out a plateful and they were pretty good. It was just a right amount of everything on our stuff and everything was well-made. My husband's burger was not a frozen preformed patty, it was a fresh made burger; you could tell just by looking at it as well as the taste. He even really liked the fries. Even though I couldn't finish my onion rings or hotdog, I ordered the brookie because I really wanted to try it. Somehow, between the two of us, we finished it. In this case, the staff was super great we ate at this restaurant twice, but mostly because it was the only reasonable option on the island. The first night we both got a burger and it was probably the greasiest burger I've ever had from a restaurant. It was worse than... Honestly, I can't remember ever having a burger that was kind of nasty. I mean it's a hamburger. It's pretty hard to mess up. Often they have music on Friday nights which make the atmosphere a lot of fun. And, perhaps most importantly, we shut the place down anytime we go. The vibe makes you want to stay. We went on a Saturday for lunch, and we had a good experience with Danielle (I think) as our flight attendant (server). The restaurant was (by admission) completely understaffed. It caused a massive back up for tables, even though they were available and then slow service at the table and an extremely long wait for ordered food. The menu is very basic, burgers and sandwiches, so hard to screw up, but things such as a club sandwich was nothing more than a turkey sandwich as it skipped bacon. While waiting over an hour for a table, even ordering a drink at the bar was a 20 minute experience since there were many people waiting and only one bartender. Its a restaurant in a resort, there are no patrons who aren't staying on the Omni property, so they have a fair idea how busy they will be. A far better idea would be NOT to open if you can't handle the rush and we all could have driven out of the resort and had a decent meal in a timely fashion. The staff you could tell was under a great deal of stress and at one point a waiter (Dillon) walked up behind my two boys (age 9 & 11) and turned the tv channel from a cartoon they were watching to a football game that was also on the 12 or so other tvs in the restaurant. Honestly, they were the only two people standing in front of a tv while waiting over an hour for a table that was empty and for no reason, with no concern...sorry dudes, click and when I mentioned this to him, he was very defensive, unapologetic and said that I have to complain to the manager. It was/is a management problem, the staff seemed to be workimgbas hard as they could, but they likely disappointed every guest, and all because the manager couldn't or wouldn't sufficiently staff. Our first night on the island we ate here because we'd traveled a few hours and finally got into our house and we were starving. The food was decent but nothing to rave about. My family and I came here for a nice casual dinner tonight. We are locals, and come all the time to this restaurant. The food has always been good, and we've never had a bad experience prior to tonight. I ordered a bourbon sour, and asked specifically for rail bourbon. The check came back with a charge for premium bourbon, more than double the price of rail, and we asked about this and to speak to a manager due to the mistake. I appreciate the fact that they did give us a new receipt with an accurate charge reflecting rail bourbon, but the manager had a few things to say that didn't sit right with any of us. He claimed, "Omni trains us to always charge the highest option we can get away with, and unfortunately sometimes prices here are higher than you're probably used to back home." Firstly, we are locals. "Back home" is here, and the pricing scam is still ridiculous. The manager admitted to us that they charge the priciest options and most of the time customers don't notice or don't question it. We are lucky we said something and the waitress messed up. This was an incredibly rude statement from the manager and we, as locals, will never come back and encourage all of our local friends and their friends to not come back as well. Outwardly admitting to fraudulently charging customers is crazy, and they are lucky we were so nice about it. If you ever go to this restaurant, triple check your receipt. read more
