Back deck looking over golf course and marsh.
    Ron L.

The breeze was blowing and it was partly cloudy, but eating on the deck overlooking the golf course and marsh was great. Chicken salad sandwich and Reuben sandwich were very good. The place isn't crowed because mostly the golfers stop to grab food.

Solid lunch place, mostly for the after golf/tennis crowd. Indoor/outdoor seating overlooking the golf course. I forgot to take photos but all members of our party- save the 3 year old- cleaned plates. We ordered the turkey wrap, the quesadilla, the grouper sandwich and the Cobb salad. Salads are substantial. The quesadilla was on point. The wrap was nothing special, and the chipotle mayo came with definitely had some kick. The house made chips were excellent but would've been even better if they came with some sort of dipping sauce. There's a separate kids menu that comes with veggie sticks and an applesauce pouch. Overall, a very satisfying meal.

Beautiful view of the Marsh in the morning. Hearing the wildlife was calming. Julie my server was amazing she made me the best coffee ever!

Party of two and both ordered cheeseburgers. Neither finished because the burgers tasted off. Both got sick.

To keep it simple, we both chose chicken salad sandwich with no bread and fries.

Our server was kind, but not overly friendly (I don't want a performance, you know?). And our food came out maybe 10 minutes after we ordered. We were early enough to order the Sunrise Special and the egg portions seemed surprisingly large! The grits were lovely. The bacon was not the best, it's thin cut (reminiscent of microwave bacon) and I prefer it to be thick. I ordered the eggs Benedict and really enjoyed it. The hollandaise could have had a touch more seasoning, but the texture was great. I actually preferred the Canadian bacon that came on it than the regular bacon that came with the Sunrise Special. It was perfectly salty and crisp. Oh! And it came with crab meat on it which was a special twist I didn't expect but really appreciated. The potatoes are cut into large chunks, but they are well seasoned and cooked nicely. I can't stand when a potato is undercooked, but this place didn't have that problem. And the cherry on top was the water. Florida locals may not be bothered by the ocean-y taste that comes with their drinking water, but for our family it is something that's hard to get past. We were pleasantly surprised to find that this water tasted as if it was filtered and the ice is that soft kind that's pleasant to chew. This might seem like a silly thing to add, but it really stood out to me and I'm grateful for it.

We even got there after their happy hour ended by a half hour, and without even asking, the front desk girl offered to get us a glass of wine, which we did do. And in contrast to another review, the red wine was good. Not top of the line, but definitely not gross. It was your average house wine from any upscale restaurant. The location was perfect for us. On the beach, easy access. They had beach chairs and umbrellas and beach towels if needed. The views from their deck are stellar. They also had enough parking. Also, there is an elevator from the parking area, so getting luggage to room is easy. Here's the only issue I had. When you book on their website, it clearly states what's included in your stay with your room. A few things listed are: breakfast, beach chairs/umbrellas, towels. HOWEVER, when I went to checkout and pay online, there is an 'AMENITY' fee! They describe this as a fee for the beach chairs and towels, etc. Please don't tell me it's included with the rental of my room, and then charge me for it at checkout. It now becomes NOT INCLUDED and I am in fact paying for it extra! I was really going between the 3 star review & the 4. I do not appreciate being deceived. I had spent a lot of time looking at where we wanted to stay, so at that point, I just went through with it and paid. Also, the only other confusing thing, is that I thought they had provided bfast there. They do have coffee (really good coffee btw). They also had pastries at bfast that they get from a local bakery. My husband had an apple danish type thing and he really enjoyed it. But they offer us a $30 voucher to one of two places in town for bfast. We chose the garden cafe. It was good. But of course you spend more than the $30 for basic bfast, oj & coffee. Would I go back? Most likely yes. Would I recommend to family & friends? Yes

I have always wanted to stay here and I am glad we did. that weekend turned out to be a perfect weekend to stay there, weather was gorgeous! we stayed at Tradewinds suite and it was perfection. we have our door open the whole entire time except when we were sleeping but other than that the breeze was just flowing on our room. The service here is wonderful! Employees here are amazing and super friendly. we also enjoyed eating breakfast here. Also, the beach is just few steps away! that was one of the reason why I choose Elizabeth Lodge. Unfortunately, I am not able to say anything about the rooms on the main lodge since we did not stay there but booking the tradewinds is highly recommend.

Ornate, luxurious, top notch service, everything you'd expect from a Ritz property…read more Lobby bar - A beautiful living room for hanging out during the day. We arrived at the Ritz too late for dinner anywhere but the lobby bar. Enjoyed several sushi rolls with drinks, each one imaginative fresh and tasty. But some event had recently let out and the lobby bar got crowded and LOUD. I mean over 100db loud (measured). That's the equivalent of enjoying sushi while jackhammers are crushing concrete all around you. Whoa! Ocean front one bedroom suite - Plush, large, comfortable. Curtains blocked most light, but the bright morning sun still peeked in around the edges. Comfortable bed and plenty cold for good sleeping. Two huge TVs. While the only premium feed provided is Netflix, the cable box had been lowered behind the TV in the living room such that it was simple to plug in your own device. If this is by design, kudos to the Ritz. If this was accidental, we feel very fortunate. Awesome to have a second half bath, wish that was an option at more hotels. The main bath, very roomy, with a huge dressing area, was a little odd in that, while there was a door to the toilet, there was no door to the tub/shower. Not a big deal, as it was around a corner providing a little privacy, it's still a weak design decision. Huge balcony with ocean front views that go on forever. A few chairs and a table, but a bit under furnished. Still quite a treat for the view, breeze and privacy. Never even slightly tempted to leave the property during our stay. Over a 4 night stay, we visited nearly every bar and restaurant option, and never felt like we were having to "make do". Pool - the kiddie pool was closed for renovations, so children took over the main pool all day. If you're not a tolerant direct parent, you're not gonna get in that water, if you know what I mean. Overall the pool and chairs were pretty crowded, so almost worth the premium to have rented a cabana for 8-2 one day. Lots more room and comfort, both lounge chairs and couch seating, TV, snacks and drinks.

The pillows were flat with no support. I came for a meeting. The food was mostly buffet style and like the shower was Luke warm and not hot. The hotel charges a resort fee but there is really no resort to take advantage of. One pool with a lot of kids. Drinks around the pool started at 20.00. I didn't see any going the extra mile. No little extras for the guests. I would not come back to this hotel again
