The food and service were really Good. The burgers are rather tasty as well. Give it a try if your in the area

Just got back from St Mary's Wee Pub. Now I know why I don't go here very often. I ordered a pretzel appetizer which comes with a side of queso and mustard. The bartender (Katie) tells me "sorry, but we have no mustard". So I said that was fine, just give me some extra queso. When I get the bill, there was a $2.00 charge for the extra queso!!! Are you kidding me?????? I realize this is only $2.00, but really???? This place is dead on a daily basis and will probably be out of business soon. Now I know why. I live locally and dine here only about -3-4 times a year. They just don't care and nickel and dime you at every opportunity. Never again. Good luck Dan (the owner) coz you're gonna need it. And PS: tell your employees to stop saying the word "FUCK" at the bar in front of customers. It kind of defines the entire establishment. read more

My culinary adventures have focused on the flavor profiles of traditional Irish dishes. Yes, there is more than potatoes on the menu. I am traveling within reasonable distances of my home to experience the flavors. For example, one establishment provided a Flight of 3 menu items before committing to eating one, which was enjoyable; however, their shepherd's pie was prepared with sweetness/sweetened rather than savory flavors, which didn't bode well for me. Today's adventurous goal was to experience "bangers and mash," as there appear to be a couple of variations of this dish made with either Guinness, Port wine, or beef stock. When typing Bangers and Mash into Yelp and Google Maps, this establishment was an option for consideration. I verified that the item was on the menu and read the reviews. Upon our arrival, we were greeted well and seated forthwith. We started to place our orders when I noticed that the food item I was seeking wasn't on the menu. When I inquired about the Bangers and Mash, I was told it was no longer available. Disappointed, I opted for the Shepherd's pie. While I couldn't obtain the item I hoped for, the experience wasn't bad. The shepherd's pie was well-made and presented well; a large portion is served in an individual cast-iron pan. The flavor profiles were quite good, very savory and rich. The flavor spectrum touched all of the sensory elements. I found it quite enjoyable. My journey continues. read more

Most of the food here is NOT Irish food. They removed the bangers and mashed, most items are burgers, wings or taco style food. They do have soft pretzels, fish and chips along with Shepard pie. That's about it. We started with the pretzels. They were BOGO so we each got one. They were hot and soft served with mustard and queso. Not beir cheese, queso. Big enough to fill a dinner plate. I ordered an iced tea. It was nasty, obviously old. I told the server and asked for water, she did not remove it from the table and after we paid i saw that she also did not take it off my bill. I ordered fish and chips for dinner. There were 2 huge pieces of fish, one would have been more than enough. They were perfectly cooked but not enough tartar sauce and the server did not come around while we were eating to get more. The fries were soft and"not hot". Everything we are was either exceptional or bad. The men's room was filthy. This always concerns me as to the cleanliness of the kitchen. I seldom give 2 stars. The great fish and pretzels deserved better than a 1 but the soggy fries, dirty bathroom and not taking the cost of old tea off the bill won't let me go to 3. read more

Cute place!! First we walked on and was greeted right away. We asked to be at where we could watch the game, and they couldn't put the game where they sat us so they moved us to where we could watch the game. The waitress came and took out drink orders and told us about the specials they had. We got pretzel with mustard and queso, it was a soft pretzel with the outside being crunchy- very good! I ordered Lieutenant Dan tacos. I wish it was a bit Spicer, but very good. All in all great visit. read more

The pretzel was grabbed before I could get a good picture. Served with cheese and mustard, the pretzel was crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. Very good! I had the blue cheese burger with blue cheese, bacon and crispy onions. It was delicious!! Cooked medium, it had good burger flavor and blue cheese melted - mmmmmmm!! When you find yourself in the St Mary's, GA / Fernandina Beach, FL vicinity and in need of some Irish pub time, this is the place. After a busy afternoon of running errands, we stopped in at the Wee Pub for some wee bites (and a wee dram of adult spirits). We were doubly delighted to discover it was also happy hour (3-6) pm. Havin' the luck o' the Irish on our side, we proceeded to order a couple o' pints and some food. We tried the beef taco combo (Irish grub is more diverse than ye might think), along with some Drunk Chicken (yes, it IS marinated in whisky), and both were delightful. If you are a fan of the Black & Tan, Wee Pub's version is wonderfully refreshing - 1/2 pint of Yeungling draft topped with a 1/2 pint o' Guiness Stout. Draft, of course, as the Maker intended it. We went in for lunch. Food tasted good. The place had a lot of gnats flying around but also didn't look dirty. We saw the taco Tuesday special and confirmed with the server what beers were on special. When we received our bill, it was higher than expected. One of the beers was not marked down. When we inquired as to why, the server said she thought that beer was on special but maybe it wasn't and they can't adjust it cause that is what it printed. Quote me one price and deliver another- automatic 1 star. I believe that is called bait and switch and is illegal. read more

We always have great service here. This evening we were promptly greeted and seated. Our server, Clark, was at our table in a flash to take our Guinness and Smithwicks draft orders. We had blackened fish tacos and fish and chips. Both were great. Clark was very friendly, very attentive, without being too much. The atmosphere was perfect. There is an outdoor area with kid friendly games, which was crowded with maybe a party? The dining area was cozy with TVs throughout. The bar was full. There is also a game area off of the dining area with pool tables, ping pong etc. McGarvey's Wee Pub is one of our favorite places when we're in this area. read more

Honestly, not a good experience... in fact, it sucked. Ordered the worst fish and chips I've ever consumed -- I'm not even exaggerating. Bartender (Riley, I think) had the personality of a bag of chlamydia. On second thought, I think a bag of chlamydia has a BETTER personality. I probably would've stayed and had another drink or two to wash down the DEEP fried fishy substance I barely was able to swallow but I figured it would be more fun elsewhere...Afghanistan comes to mind for places I'd rather be than the Wee Pub. Believe it or not, I'm not going to trash the entire establishment in this review. Very quick service, reasonable prices. Had bangers and mash. The mash and guineas gravy were excellent. The sausages were fine, not great. I'll review again if I can make it out here for dinner and a beer, it is a real pub - as with many activities I am guessing a beer might bring it up a star. read more

First time here, honestly we were just looking for a pub showing the ball game. This was perfect! TV at the table and food was surprisingly great! Per Amanda's suggestion, we got the Craic chips..awesome...then split the Reuben (we chose Texas toast instead of Rye), it was excellent, and the Shepard's Pie was spectacular! Amanda was a gem of a waitress. She brought everything we asked for quickly, including a cup of hot water for my cold hands, and she was very friendly and made great suggestions. Great place to stop in and grab dinner ! We visited here a few weeks or so ago. I ordered a burger with sweet potato fries. Hubs ordered the tacos with salsa and chips and my mom order their version of the Reuben. Everything came out quick and was very good. We will stop back in next time we pass through! read more

The Pub. Given some thought as to what to write, sometimes if flows freely and others I have to ponder. Not for bad reasons but for the search for the right words. The staff has always been outstanding. Always friendly and with a smile, even as new staff pop up, seems they are all from the same basket of professional, friendly, and happy people. Great Southern hospitality. The pub environment is welcoming and I like it. Clean, well designed and adequate seating. Small enough for a "date night" and big enough for parties. The food - never a "hit and miss", as they have consistently tasty food, well portioned, and delicious. We just came here and left after 15 minutes of not getting served. The bartender was taking an order and apparently the computer went down, which is stressful, I'm sure. However, when she came back to the bar, after she had already acknowledged us to tell us she'd be right with us, she proceeded to serve the newest person that appeared at the bar instead of us. Went for karaoke...very fun and nice ambiance. And man people can sing there such a great place. Still haven't tried the food but next time.

I was surprised with how we enjoyed this place. The Limerick Burger and Fish Sandwich were both very good and the staff was great. Sit on the bar side for better atmosphere and music. Only drawback for me is around 830 there was a large group of young locals having a bit too much fun and looking for trouble. Prior to that, we had a great time. read more

Overall the experience was ok but nothing about it was great. I had the wings and they tasted ok and were cooked ok but could have used more sauce. First bite was good but the wings then became a little bland. My wife had a shrimp pasta dish. She said it was ok but was adding a lot of salt.l so we're under seasoned. Service was ok.
