K1 is a great place to visit alone, with family, friends, celebrating an event, etc... It's spacious, clean, has things to do for adults and children, plus includes food and drink. The registration process is simple and the counter with computers is straight forward. The 11 laps don't go too quick so it offers a chance to learn the track and do your best. My adult daughters and I had a great time returning here after many years and would come back. It's a little pricey so it would be a bi-annual visit for me personally. read more

We recently took our son here for his birthday and he had an absolute blast! The racing is always exciting, the track is well run, and the whole atmosphere makes for such a fun experience. He enjoyed it so much that we ended up getting another membership for this year, this isn't even our first time purchasing one. Every visit here has been a great time for our family. The staff is friendly, the facility is clean, and the races are always a ton of fun. Definitely one of our favorite places to come for entertainment and adrenaline. Highly recommend! read more

Pretty fun time here overall. Racing is the highlight (obviously), so I'd recommend you do 3 races when you go as they go by pretty quick. A lot of the experience comes down to whoever is officiating as some let you have fun and race, while others throttle the carts which cause the carts to go much slower which can be frustrating. The track is relatively short with each lap taking ~30-35 seconds. There's not many straightaways, but much more tight turns which can be fun, though it's very hard to pass other racers. When they let you race, it's a lot of fun and the carts actually have good speed and handling which creates a nice skill gap. They do printouts of the results after each race and have medals and a podium for the top 3 racers which is super cool and adds to the bragging rights for all of the competitive peeps out there! For the rest of the event: The food was just decent, we got sliders and wings as part of the event package after the race. You get a big room with TVs and speakers which was cool as you get to chill before and after your races. There's a small arcade area which is a nice touch. The service was pretty good, especially Emma she went above and beyond to make our group's experience here smooth since it was all our first time. If I go in the future, I'll probably stick to just the races. read more

Anaheim is our home track, our friends race here, our community. We know all staff and coaches off and on the track through outdoor karting leagues. Always had a great experience here. Lately vibes are terrible. New manager is rude, seems to treat the staff as if they're incompetent. My kids notice. Doesnt have that welcoming vibe anymore. Look I understand manager has a role to keep the business moving, his lack of customer service, empathy, and bringing good vibes is next to zero. Have had multiple bad experiences here the past year. I usually keep it cool and flow with it. Frankly I don't want to recommend this place anymore. read more

I went with a group of friends, and we were told that the wait time for the next adult race would be about 2 hours. We understood and were okay with it, so we purchased two races each. We waited the full 2 hours for our first race, which was fine. After finishing, we stayed by the pit area to wait for our second race to be called. About 30 minutes passed, and we noticed that other people who were in our first race had already been called and completed their second race. Meanwhile, four other groups were also sent in before us, and we still had not been called. I approached one of the staff members in the pit area to ask for help, but he was dismissive and rude. He told me to go to the front desk because he was busy and couldn't help me. I understand being busy, but the way he communicated was unprofessional. When we went to the front desk, we were told that we had "missed" our race. However, we were standing right by the pit the entire time, paying close attention to the announcements. We are certain we were not called, especially since races consistently send groups of 12, and we were actively watching for that. We were then told we would need to wait another 2 hours for our second race. This was extremely frustrating and unfair, considering we had already waited a long time and had been attentive the entire time. Overall, it was disappointing to spend hours waiting for such a short race experience, only to be told we had to wait even longer due to what seems like a mistake on your end. I hope you can address this issue and improve how races are managed and communicated, as well as how staff interact with customers. read more

Very nice employee tried to help us get the package deal however she failed to explain the deal is for one person. I showed up with two children. Why would I want to only buy for one without accommodating the other? They have different packaging prices on various days which can be confusing to a customer, especially if it's their first time. When coming back to redeem packaged races, is when I found out what had happened. The lack of ability of the manager to be able to accommodate their own error, which they admitted came from a rather new employee, is unacceptable. Wasn't asking for anything free I was simply asking them for them to be able to split the package. How can the company not allow a manager to accommodate such a thing? Sad, sad, disappointing services considering these races are not cheap. read more

We were here for a birthday party on a Saturday around 2pm. It was not too busy it was perfect for a bday party. There was other party going on. We didn't get a room until 30 mins after. Kids had fun it was their first time. The staff was good at telling the kids the rules. The kids get 2 races. I would have a bday party here. Pizza and chicken fingers were tasty. It was a really fun experience! The staff was great, and the manager Richard was super helpful. We had a small issue, and he quickly resolved it for us. During our second race, there were a lot of crashes which slowed things down for more than half the race. Went to this location for my bday on Saturday night and the races went decent on arriving and purchased a camera for one race because I was told over the phone I couldn't bring my insta360. So once we finished all the races I went back to get the footage and they misplaced my camera saying they couldn't find the right one and had to get refunded. I just thought it was inconvenient that I was told over the phone I couldn't bring my camera and I purchase on for a race and couldn't get the footage for my bday rather than just bringing in my own on a chest mount and not having to worry about losing the footage or not. read more

After going to the Irvine track earlier today I went to the Anaheim location and must say it's super awesome there! First off the layout is super cool with the above the track viewing area, and track going through two tunnels. The staff also made it so much better, the manager Andrew was super friendly and polite and shared racing tips, and then both Tyson and Emma at the front desk were awesome to talk to about racing and the track. Going trackside the karts felt fast, the track felt insanely fun to drive, and both Alec and Brandon were incredibly kind, plus they were knowledgeable about racing and the karts. Overall despite this track being slightly feather from me (and my home track) i definitely think it's well worth it to come back again one day. 10/10 read more

Expensive, sadly when we got in the carts they were way slower than normal and would shut off on the turns. We stopped in the middle of the race to tell them and they said that it was because we were touching the brake pedal. So, I put my foot far away from the pedal and did not fix anything. I came here for my first time with a group for a birthday event. It was all of our first times and we were nervous, but it turned out super fun! For private events, they gave us time slots where our party were the only ones on the track, so that was nice. Once we were called up, they gave us some instructions and had us put our bags in a cubby and gear up with helmets. It was honestly kind of hard to hear the instructions, but use your best judgement and be safe. Our group signed up for 2 races for $50 per person, which was the perfect amount. The first race is 12 laps, which is more of a practice and they let people safely pass each other. But the second race is 14 laps with no rules, which I found to be much more fun. Once you finish, they have your results printed out for you too. I left this place with such an adrenaline rush from the driving. Definitely recommend for everyone to try at least once. read more

Anyway, I was driving and these idiot boys would crash into my go kart. Made me so mad bc if I wanted to be at a bumper Car spot I'd go to a bumper car spot. I researched the website and found that K1 has an "Arrive & Drive" program. To most people, this would mean "you come and you can drive". Today, I learned that this was not so. Ten of us (adults and children) arrived at 11:00 at the Anaheim location to drive today. We were told that the earliest they could seat us was in 2 1/2 hours. This was because there were back-to-back parties booked, the only 12 carts available needed to be fully charged for the parties, and there were no seat positions available for races. This is unacceptable. My party went to Chuck E Cheese and K1 lost out on several hundred dollars of revenue. I understand that many folks have voiced their frustration with their procedures. I suggest modifying the website to give patrons a more accurate view of their policies, and to highlight that folks should call ahead to make reservations. read more

Lots of mixed reviews on this place so I'll share how our group has a fantastic experience here. First, you'll want a large group so no one else can join. We had 9 adults and made a reservation on a Saturday afternoon. We didn't have to wait to get on the track and didn't have any randoms. Highly recommend this step! These carts are electric which is awesome not a lot of noise or exhaust in your face like in the old days. They also provide you with a face cover to cover you inside the helmet. This place isn't cheap so you'll want to make sure you stack the deck in your favor and be with your friends to get your moneys worth. The carts are decently fast. Something to note is not all carts drive the same I noticed the steering and handling varied on the cart. We bought the 3 race package. The first two were time based, best lap time wins. Ideally you want to space out so you don't have to run into people and can run at your own pace. The last race was was an actual race! They let us pass freely and it was a ton of fun--granted we did have a full group of adults so let let us go at it. Overall I had a blast and at the end they have a podium and hand out trophies!!! I got second so easy to say I had a great time! Tips: How to win your race! If it's based on best lap try to isolate yourself you don't want to be by anyone since it doesn't matter the order you finish, only your best lap matters. The staff can see if you know how to drive or not based on your lines and will make less skilled drivers let you pass. There's no need for any contact here ideally you're able to sprint at your own pace I honestly would have been faster if I didn't have to slow down to avoid hitting friends. For an actual race, watch Nascar or F1, protect the inside lane to block passing and hit your lines. The cart gives you feedback and skips when you're cornering too fast so you can adjust your speed each lap. The brakes don't antilock so you'll likely spin out if you press and hold... don't do that. There's two hairpin turns which will force you to slow down hit your line and try not to brake on these. read more

Racing for the public would not be open until 8:30 PM. No thank you. We would be hard pressed to try this again and understand why the ratings are dropping. Came here and brought a friend's kid who was visiting from Australia to experience GoKarting. He had lots of fun. Waiting in line can be a little long though. His mood went sour after getting really excited playing the arcade area and winning a stuffed animal from the claw machine. It had a huge rip on it and when asked if we can get it replaced, the associate said the stuffed animals come as is. I did a race with my son and it was going fine but after several laps two other racers were completely blocking the track horizontally as I came around a turn I didn't see them in time and hit them at full speed head on, I got severe whiplash. Normally if a racer is stuck the employee watching the track is supposed to slow down all racers to prevent a crash. The employee watching the race was oblivious to all crashes the whole race. K1 should have 2 employees watching the race to see all crashes and slow people down remotely. I am on day 3 of neck pain and I had to go to urgent care to get checked out yesterday after being very worried that I broke my neck in some way, I still have buzzing and nerve pain down my arm. What a waste of time, they have kids working there that don't care about the people racing it's just another day at their boring job they are complacent. Not following the rules or procedures they may have been trained on ages ago by some manager who used to care. They ruined it for me I won't be going back to K1 or any indoor go karts ever again. I have to praise Mark the manager and Andrea worker, but I have nothing but good things to say about entire team. They coach my son and have improved his skills significantly. Staff is helpful and focused on the riders, which I appreciated. Many safety precautions in place to make sure the experience is safe and fun. We waited about 20 minutes on a Sunday afternoon. My wife and I are moving, so we decided to have one last big date night here. So, we decided to do go Karting then a nice dinner followed by frozen yogurt and then we'd decide what we'd wanna do next after that. So, we arrived and joined the race. It was just me and my wife, we had the whole track for our race to ourselves. The first 8 laps were fantastic. It was so fast and so much fun. My wife was racing much slower, enjoying more of a casual race. Well, everything turned bad when her kart randomly stopped on a dime in the middle of the race for no reason, jolting her forward and giving her some whiplash. She sat completely motionless wondering what happened. Meanwhile, I was driving behind her at full speed and had no time to stop. I slammed into her back at full speed which whip lashed her head back and forth, and also caused me to whip my head forward due to the impact. I hit my wife's kart so hard it slammed her forward into the bumper wall. Thats three sepatate impacts. A staff member came to turn her car back on. She asked what happened but maybe he didn't hear under our helmets. We finished the race slower and cautiously, soon feeling the effects of the race. When we exited, I could tell my wife was glassy eyed and not looking good. We've done sky diving and rock climbing and sports so we're no stranger to risk and injuries in our lifetime, its a part of participating in certain activities. We went to the front desk to ask what happened to her kart, why did it stop and force a collision. About 10 minutes later, a person came out i think named Matt. I asked why her kart stopped, because we were concerned that maybe it was a malfunctioning kart and needs to be removed from circulation ASAP or maybe the staff member made a mistake and stopped it in which case they should be removed from operations. Either way, it's dangerous. Other kids and people were lined up ready for more races. Matt said he inspected the kart himself and nothing appeared wrong with it. He said maybe my wife pressed the brake and/or touched the brake cable which causes the kart to have a dead stop sometimes. My wife said she never touched the brake, she was going a medium speed and never needed it, which is why I was 2 laps ahead of her approaching 3 laps. She doubts she touches the brake cable, whatever that means. Matt said again that maybe my wife touched the brake or the cable and it automatically stops the kart. Just my opinion, but if that is the case, maybe they should tell people to not touch the brake or the exposed "cable" with their foot because it could cause your kart to stop immediately and put you at risk of a full speed collision with other kart drivers. Matt said he added a free race to our account. We said thank you for the kind gesture but we won't be racing karts anymore. I told him that my wife looks like she has a concussion and I too was feeling a headache. I said whatever happened there was dangerous even for go karting. Matt said again he inspected the kart himseld and sees nothing wrong with it and he heard the impact so he checked the kart as soon as the race was over. He heard the impact. Driving home, we got off the freeway and stopped at our favorite restaurant, the last time we'll ever be here again. Before we even parked, I started to feel the symptoms if my own concussion. We canceled the plans for our entire evening and went straight home. Tomorrow we plan on going to urgent care if we feel worse. On the customer service side, a refund on wife's interrupted race would have been appropriate for obvious reason. On the liability and safety side, this business should warn guests that if you touch the brake and gas pedal together at anytime or you touch the cable, you might be in danger of stopping and causing a collision at possible full speeds. We paid almost $100 for our first time experience here and left very disappointed. Needless to say, that extra race does us no good since we won't be back because were moving and because we felt it was not a safe. I hope the kids and other drivers look out. 1/5 read more

I've been to this location many times and usually enjoy the experience, but my most recent visit was extremely disappointing. There were several racers driving recklessly--bumping into others at full speed and causing crashes. Unfortunately, the staff did nothing to intervene or enforce safety rules, even after repeated incidents. This lack of oversight created an unsafe and frustrating environment. It was hard to enjoy the race when I was being slammed into the entire time, and it felt like safety just wasn't a priority. For the price, I expected a much more controlled and enjoyable experience. I hope management takes this seriously and begins enforcing the rules to protect all guests and maintain the quality this location is known for. read more

To start with, when you call you get a call center and not the actual facility. You can't make a reservation for less than 8 people. I had a group of 5 and we had to wait 2 hours for the first ride. This place is pawwwsome, I explain how much I like this place. To start their staff members are really kind and welcoming. Their rules are easy, not harsh they even host junior racing events for everyone to join. They got a beer place and a food bar and a small miniature arcade place. You are also available to do private lessons with the staff members which is kind of expensive with a woping $150 but they give you tips/tricks/ and suggestions. I did one and they made me do a couple of laps and from there on I got tricks on how to steer and control friction and a walk on the whole track and at the end they told me what I did good on and what I needed to improve. amazing place!! read more

It's good! You arrive, they have good parking. You come inside, you are directed to the desk. They sign you up. They then tell you what to expect and what to do. The price compared to what you get is fair. The cafe: service is slow but she was nice. Prices are fair. The food I got was nice! I'm a little picky. It was good! They have a little arcade thing, it's fun. They also have pool table, foos ball. The racing: they explain the rules, they get you set up, you listen and follow instructions. Warning: the teen/adult races is sometimes not for the faint of heart. My son-in-law and I are not timid people. We came in 2 and 5 out of 11, but it was like a fight for our lives (I say that jokingly but yeah it was wild). We were sweating when we were done. We were told it varies and that we ended up thrown in with guys they referred to as regulars (so figure sub 30 second lap times). But the adreneline. As it was a boys' trip, my grandson was there. They put him in a race with another little one, in karts for kids, and let them have the track for their race. He loved it. It was safe, the karts were not too powerful for a little guy, compared to the karts my son-in-law were in, which were gutsy, had acceleration, speed. I would come back and I would hope to get thrown in with regulars again. I repeat: my son-in-law and I are insane. I used to race dirt bikes. He is fearless, used to help handle tigers and lions at a wildlife refuge. We were actually challenged. It was a battle. I didn't expect it to be that exciting! We'll be back. By the way I'm a pretty big guy, the karts are more than powerful enough that let me put it this way: your limits will come from your ability, not the karts. Don't blame the kart, those things work very well and have ample power. A final note on the personnel: These are sports people working at a sports place. If you come here expecting to have your hand held and like it's shopping at Pier One for decor, you are in the wrong place. I thought they did a great job. But again: these are sports types, serving sports types. Being one, I thought they were great. Karens won't enjoy coming here though becuase they aren't there to be obsequious or simpering. They are probably mostly adreneline junkies too and such understand each other, but come off as blunt perhaps to others. read more

If you're looking for a fun, efficient night out, do not waste your time or money at K1 Speed in Anaheim. The entire experience was a frustrating, disorganized mess from the start. I tried calling ahead to reserve a time, but apparently, K1 doesn't allow any form of reservation -- it's strictly first come, first served. Not ideal when you're planning a date night that requires arranging childcare. Still, I figured if we showed up between 4 and 5 PM, we could slip in after the kid parties and before the adult crowd showed up. Wrong. We signed up and paid for two races, carefully asking what the process would look like for doing both races that evening. The employee told us we'd race once, then simply put our names back in for the second round. At that point, they casually mentioned the wait would be about an hour and 30 to 40 minutes -- and emphasized that we needed to stay inside to hear our names called. There wasn't much to do while waiting, so we decided to try food and drinks at their makeshift bar. We ended up buying lukewarm sliders and wings that tasted like they'd been sitting under a heat lamp all afternoon -- absolutely not worth the inflated price tag. As our estimated wait time came and went, I checked in again, only to be told that it would now be at least another hour. This time, they gave us an actual "scheduled" race time, something they conveniently failed to mention earlier when we could have made a better decision. By that point, we'd already wasted hours sitting around doing nothing, and we weren't about to waste another. We asked for a refund and left. The bottom line: K1 Speed Anaheim is a disorganized, poorly managed operation that has no respect for their customers' time. If you're planning a night out and value your sanity, avoid this place.
