What a cute theater to see local talent! We popped in for a comedy show by a two girl troupe that was hilarious!! They have comedy every night and the tickets are very low priced.A few drink options in the front before the show begins and very eclectically decorated.

We went to a Friday night show here and had a great time. Local austin talent is great! And we really enjoyed the traveling stand up show from a guy from Chicago. Wish I could remember his name. Nice intimate venue with lots of seating.

    Small venue!

Comedy.... coooommmmedy... here boy... where are ya comedy... seriously get in here boy! Comedy get in here!! My wife and I attended a yelp event here. It was a 10:30pm show that went to midnight. We walked in and were pleasantly surprised... they had a small bar with drinks. After looking at reviews we thought there were no drinks... surprise! It's a limited selection but a great surprise all the same. After having a drink in the lounge area (we were early) we walked into the show space and found it to be very "intimate". A small stage and only about 120 seats or so. This really made for an up close and personal feel. The way good comedy is meant to be. Anticipation set in... Unfortunately this was not good comedy. It lacked comedy in a big way... it was a variety show... multiple performances/acts, and most of them fell extremely flat. I hate to bash any one brave enough to get up in front of people and expose themselves in this manor... but most of this event was a struggle. The MC tried (but came off just goofy), the acts were "different" (but unfortunately just not very funny), and the event was severely void of laughs. I will shout out to two of the acts though and say they were good... the pepper eating movie guys... tortured themselves for laughs... and it worked. Then the only true improv of the night the country rappers.... they were funny! They both deserve a larger part in the show as these two acts saved the night form a total bust! The venue is cool.. sound is good... and over all it should tee up for a great opportunity to be up close and personal with the acts... meaning great laughs! I do have one main suggestion for the venue... if you're going to bill the show as improv, you might want to have improve in the show?! Just thinking... ya know? I REALLY liked the space... the location is a great spot for a comedy show and I might just have to try it again... thanks Luci (our wonderful CM)/Yelp for the event! It was a cool place and it was nice to get out and "go to the show".

Came for a comedy show and it was a nice way to spend Friday night. They do shows at 2 hour intervals all the way to 11:30pm. You can buy tickets online for $2+ cheaper or at the door. We got tickets through Eventbrite for an improv show and enjoyed the drinks and smaller, younger crowd. There are two arcade cabinets with games like Pacman & Streetfighter you can play while waiting for the show to start. They take cash, card, and mobile pay. Water is $2 bottled only.

I came here for the show naughty bits, which is hosted by Nikita Redkar and Katie Stone. It was my first time seeing a comedy show live and it was fun! The place is small but it has a hip vibe to it and feels intimate. The comedy show itself was alright. Some jokes were hit or miss but I suppose but it had a fun atmosphere. I still felt like I had a good time and it was worth my while. I really liked the concept of hosting various local comedians as some are like hidden treasure. Their style is unique and different from the comedians I've seen on TV. I would love to come here again! I definitely thought some of the local comedians were hilarious and I have started following them on twitter to see updates of their next shows.

Improv is top notch, and in a smaller venue that's clean and fun. Parking was easy to find and the prices are not ridiculous. Fun night out!

I see it says BYOB. So for the record, I can have like a pint size bottle of Jack Daniels and bring it in and be ok? If I sound silly please forgive me. I just want to be sure that its no stipulation around BYOB.

When I went there they had a small bar that had a select option of cocktails, a few wines and a few beers. It was very concession stand-ish. But decent. It was not BYOB and I was there last week on the weekend.

Like a lot of people my age, I have always been infatuated with technology and began messing around with computers and code at a young age. Over the years I have taken countless online courses but nothing ever seemed to stick. That being said I never really understood any of the deeper concepts needed to actually write meaningful code until I started the prep program for Hack Reactor. I had never heard of coding schools like this before a few years ago and never did my research until my brother in law went to a coding bootcamp in Cleveland in 2017. I was very curious about his experience and started doing my research. He had mixed reviews and was definitely overwhelmed with the pace but I was intrigued nonetheless. After a couple weeks of research and talking to admissions with multiple schools I finally decided to get started with the paid Structured Study Program provided by Hack Reactor. It was the most in-depth and fast-paced training I had ever been through. Even if you decide to go to a different school this prep program is amazing. Once I was about halfway through the SSP program I decided to take the technical interview to get into Hack Reactor and passed! After a lot of research and family discussion, I decided on the in-person immersive in Austin and it was incredible in so many ways. I was thoroughly impressed with how much the staff cared about our success and about us as people. The team was led by Linden Kueck who turned out to be as loving and helpful a teacher/leader one could ever have. I learned an unbelievable amount about computer science, data structures, algorithms and Javascript in a very, very short time but I am also very grateful for the unexpected lessons in team dynamics and soft skills like how to effectively work and communicate with other developers in the real world. Aside from the unexpected, I can't express in words how much I learned in such a short time. The pace was nothing short of insane and I was not sure I was going to remember anything that was being taught or if I was even going to finish the program. Then all of a sudden things just started to click and I was instinctively writing clean, readable code and building applications all on my own. These guys know what they are doing. After graduation, the team continued to help immensely and the career coaches were amazing as well. I interviewed for just over a month and landed a full stack engineering position in my hometown making 6 figures. The job hunt in this industry is difficult but Hack Reactor was there to help the whole way. If you are serious about coding as a career move and are looking to do it quickly, I don't see how anyone could make a better choice than the Austin campus at Hack Reactor.

I had joined the 2nd cohort at MakerSquare in fall of 2013. Prior to MakerSquare, I had tried…read morelearning Ruby and JS on my own, through countless books and online tutorials. Having completed a few guides, I realized that my ability to learn "how to code" was hindered simply by my style of learning. I love interactive q/a style learning, which is what led me to MakerSquare. Of the different programs out there, the one thing I would urge others to consider is that they place a heavy amount of weight onto prework completed (how much work you've done ahead of time) and community-fit. If you're a solo worker and not a fan of collaborative environments, you may want to consider other programs. Anyways, long story short, I would whole heartedly recommend this program. As classmates, I had former programmers, retail store workers, a professional photographer and even a former elementary teacher. Out of the program, each of the students were working as professional front-end engineers (junior developers) within weeks of graduating. So safe to say, MakerSquare has a great professional network, and they know how to teach code. The classroom environment (the location on Congress ave) was a bit cramped at times. But from what I've heard the class size is now capped at 18, vs. 30 or so when I went through. All the 'issues' I had (space constraints, less than ideal student:instructor ratio, and focus on advanced concepts (algorithms and data structures) has been completely addressed. According to the staff, Cohort 5 is operating on an almost night/day difference of curriculum than what I had. So not only do I give the program 5 stars, I would (and likely will) retake the course to take advantage of their newest curriculum.

They have smaller class sizes, and were able to work with him one-on-one when he needed it. The teachers and other staff were all very competent and capable. The Staff - The leadership and instructors at this school genuinely care deeply about 2 things. First, they care about you. They want you to succeed. They want you to make more money. They want you to take care of your family. And they do their best to make that happen through curriculum, project-based teaching, and networking. Second, they care about creating a workforce of people who can code well and contribute to the world. 2. They are affordable. Do the research yourself and compare, and these guys will still come out on top. 3. Last but not least, not only is the program designed for people who work full time, it is also broken into 3 10-week sessions. Maybe you're not sure if this is what you want to do for a living.
