Loved this experience. This place has definitely been around for awhile and I can see why. There was a group on the patio area where you can order tacos, I did not partake. Then the bar area inside. You can take drinks into the showroom as well. Scoped out the venue which was bigger than anticipated and really enjoyed the fish tank TVs. So fun! The show was entertaining and up to date with references all relevant to the current times. Everyone on stage was great and their chemistry can be seen. The audience was laughing 99% of the time and the show went back fast! I'd totally go back for a local Austin night out with good laughs.

Esther Follies is an Austin staple!…read more They've been performing for 50 years, providing amazing entertainment for all guests attending their shows. They do a mix of comedy, magic, music , and just overall great entrainment for their shows. It's mainly themed around local and world politics + the LGBTQ community. Tickets are approximately $40. The show is about 90 minutes, with a 5 min break halfway through. They have a bar on site, and a taqueria that's connected to their building as well. Highly recommend the taqueria, it's authentic and delicious! Absolutely recommend for locals, visitors, and those who just want to enjoy a great show in the best city in the country!

Security decided to single me out…read more Despite empty pockets and arriving in a group, I get pulled aside and patted down MULTIPLE times. Security guard makes a really dumb statement as he touches my leg-- "hmm did you have surgery recently?" WTF? Bro get your fuggin hand off my leg you creep. Not okay. Then we get seated. 2 drink minimum. Wait staff was rude. I had the light on to call the server...no one came. I waved down a server who was helping a group directly in front of me...she snarkily said I have to leave my light on and that MY server would come to take my order. My server never came back except to hand me the closing check. I try to explain to her that I never got my second drink. She said oh well, last call passed (which she never told me). I ask for a receipt and she doesn't give it. I leave no tip. My charge was about 18.50. I look at my card statement the next day and it was rounded up to $20. What's so funny about this...after I told her the situation about the drink and we had no resolution...she literally went to the group on the left of me, and brought the guy a drink that he never received either! I thought the bar was closed??? Where is my drink??? Terrible. As for the comedy. They sucked. From the opener doing some lame "Robert De Niro" impression, to Brian Simpson (a pro). The jokes were not funny in the slightest. The audience didn't really laugh either. Overall, this was my 2nd time here and the negative experience is too much to look over. 2 stars.

It turned out to be a nice evening out. Two comedians warmed up the crowd before Malik B took the stage, and from the moment he started, he had everyone laughing. His observations, relatable humor, and effortless delivery kept the audience fully engaged. His set was packed with laughs, blending everyday experiences with clever storytelling. His comedic timing was outstanding and reminded us of the younger Eddie Murphy. One of the highlights of the show was Malik B's interactions with the audience, including a physical education teacher, a salesperson, and a former stripper. He kept returning to their stories throughout the set, creating hilarious running jokes that had the crowd roaring with laughter. Interestingly, he surprised them by offering to pay their tab at the end of the show (major nice gesture). Capitol City Comedy Club provided the perfect setting for a night of entertainment. The venue was comfortable, the staff was friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere made for a great experience. Please note that there is a two-item minimum purchase per person for food and beverages. Parking was also a breeze, with plenty of free parking available in both the mall lots and parking garages. My brother-in-law thoroughly enjoyed the show, and so did we. It was a fun, memorable evening filled with nonstop laughs.

I went on Tuesday which is Open Mic night and it was a ton of fun. The comics did their best and I just thoroughly enjoyed myself. The food was less to be desired. One of the guys that waited our table was hitting on my drunk friend and was very handsy. The event itself was fun. I'd probably go again but maybe if it was somewhere else. I liked that this place had two floors. It was big enough to hold the crowd that came for the event. The DJ and Host were funny and kept the conversation flowing well! Good music. It was hard to see in a dark room so much so some of my friends gave up on trying to keep track of their bingos and just danced to enjoy the music. The drinks that we were served were made well. My only complaint about the event was that we got two different emails about the start times and my friends and I worried about showing up late or potentially too early. When you try to contact the event itself in the emails where it says contact us it tells you there's no phone number and that you have to contact them by email and when you email them you get an automated response that says sorry we don't check our emails. Ask us on Facebook. I got a response via Facebook messenger about 24 hours later and confirmed the start time from one of the original emails, but all in all it was a fun time. I just found that part kind of scammy.
