We came to see Sean Patton and I absolutely fell in love with the opener, Tony Casillas. Very funny dude. It was a great night filled with good comedy! The waitresses were super attentive. The line outside was an insane experience, but I'll spare you the details!! I appreciate that they lock up your phones, it really helps you stay focused without distractions.

If you are a standup fan in Austin, you have go to Comedy Mothership. Put aside how you feel about owner Joe Rogan if you need to...I did lolz...and respect the comedy that goes on at this club. They source great comedians so you are sure to enjoy the shows. But So much for me with comedy clubs is about the vibe and it's all just a bit too hardcore at Comedy Spaceship for me as a patron. I want comediens to feel free to say what they want without fear of being cancelled, I get that. But we need to be respected as the audience, as well. Most comedy clubs ask patrons not to record or photograph & are kicked out if they do. But at Comedy Mothership, your phone is locked up the entire time you're there for 2-3 hours. It just feels weird and like I'm being held captive as a patron & not respected enough to follow the rules. I've gone to Dave Chappelle and Chris Rock & been digitally locked up, which I get in those scenarios protecting the jokes and a special being recorded. But I've also attended Louis CK post scandal and we didn't have to lock our phones up, and no one took a phone out the entire show. So my rant is over and it's part of what you have to accept going here as it's a rule. But to me, locking phones for every show seems unnecessary and a bit disrespectful to those attending the show. All that aside, our server was super friendly and nice throughout the whole show. They had some interesting non-alcoholic drinks we tried - the Kill Cliff Flaming Joe 25 mg CBD canned drink ($12), Liquid Death Sparkling and Flat ($9), and their Strawberry Shandy mocktail ($9). Loved the Strawberry Shandy! They have the usual 2 drink minimum while in but they have us non-big-drinkers well covered. No food which is probably for the best. Opener was great, main comic was great, no issues getting in, very thorough security check. Overall, I had a good time and would go back again when in town.

We absolutely loved our first time here! We were very overwhelmed since it's a smaller space with a lot of people, just everywhere. But we went to the little boy side and watched up and coming comedy artists and we had a blast! We will definitely be back!

A great comedic line up in the Fat Man Room on a Wednesday night. Even the owner, the man himself, Joe Rogan made it up on stage for some stand up! If you're trying to decide on which room, definitely go with this one! If you go to the 10pm show, it'll end right at 1am. And they will be placing your phone into a mechanically sealed pouch as you enter, so you will not be able to use your phone at all during the show. There is a two drink minimum per person, as usual, but there is no food offered here, so don't come hungry. Also no outside food, drinks, weapons, recording devices, or illegal drugs are allowed. They will search everywhere. FYI: marijuana is illegal in the state of Texas...although in this city of Austin, they do close their eyes to it being sold around every other corner. Just don't be blatant with it, and don't bring it into this venue.

I'm not sure why there are bad reviews for this place. It's a really cool, intimate, comedy club with two different rooms for comedians to do their thing. Seating, u less you have a private booth, is a bit tight, but you make friends real fast with those sitting next to you, and you're literally a stone's throw distance from the comedians. ***There is a two drink minimum... and when you purchase your ticket(s), you are informed about this. ***you can not have your phone on, you MUST turn it off, and it WILL be placed in a Faraday bag along with any smart watches. ***FOOD is NOT served here, so eat before you come here... If you're easily offended, don't come here. Plain and simple. The comedians are putting it all out there, and comedy means everything is a discussion point/fair game. Loved this place, and we will definitely be coming g back!!! Thanks, Joe Rogan, for creating a place for ALL comedians to do their gigs.

THE BIG: Located on Dirty Sixth, you can't miss Comedy Mothership from a mile away. An alien vibe with two comedy rooms: Little Boy and Fat Man. Street parking and garages are available. THE BLACK AND WHITE: I came here with the wife on a Saturday evening to watch Russell Peters and we were situated in the Fat Man studio. I find it interesting that the rooms are named after the atomic bombs dropped but not after the alien theme the mothership is going for. Checking in was pretty easy. They don't allow people to congregate and block other storefronts, so the line generally begins on Trinity. It can get hot during the summer for the wait. You aren't allowed to use your phone, watch or airpods during the show. They have these nice little pouches they lock while you watch the comedy. THE FINAL BAMBOO: Overall a great vibe here at the Comedy Mothership. There is a 2 drink minimum. Packed in like sardines but you get some really good laughs from all the comedians.

Visiting Austin from Napa Valley, first off what a fun town! And the frosting on the cake was my son treating us to a booth at the Mother ship! Very interesting how they give you a lock bag for your Phone and smart Watch' this place was jumping the spot! Laughing and laughing! tears flowing! But what was so incredible Kill Tony, and Joe Rogan crashing the party and performing!!!! Oh m G ! Wow that was fn fantastic, I wish I could have met Joe Rogan ! Well can't have everything' sooo fun BAM!!! Epic!

Ask the Community - Comedy Mothership

    Is there vaket parking?

There is no valet parking. There is street parking so get there early!

    Do they serve food?

No, they do not serve food in the comedy clubs only hard and soft drinks.

Is there bar seating in the club?I prefer sitting at a bar rather than a table.

Only in the very back of the room or the sides but they fill the room front to back.

How does the 2 drink minimum work if you're sober? How much do non-alcoholic drinks cost? Thanks ahead!

They offer soft drinks! They're around $5-$6. The ginger beer is good!

I waved down a server who was helping a group directly in front of me...she snarkily said I have to leave my light on and that MY server would come to take my order. My server never came back except to hand me the closing check. I try to explain to her that I never got my second drink. She said oh well, last call passed (which she never told me). I ask for a receipt and she doesn't give it. I leave no tip. My charge was about 18.50. I look at my card statement the next day and it was rounded up to $20. What's so funny about this...after I told her the situation about the drink and we had no resolution...she literally went to the group on the left of me, and brought the guy a drink that he never received either! I thought the bar was closed??? Where is my drink??? Terrible. As for the comedy. They sucked. From the opener doing some lame "Robert De Niro" impression, to Brian Simpson (a pro). The jokes were not funny in the slightest. The audience didn't really laugh either. Overall, this was my 2nd time here and the negative experience is too much to look over. 2 stars.

Let me tell you, he was absolutely hilarious from start to finish. My wife and I were dying laughing the whole time. He's a genuinely talented comedian and deserves sold-out crowds. If Cory B comes through Austin again, do yourself a favor and go see him--you won't be disappointed. Now, onto the venue and menu: Started with an espresso martini--solid but nothing fancy. Strong pour (bartender was generous!), but the balance could be better. I'd give it a 6.8/10. Tried the Love Potion next--much better, really enjoyable. Solid 7/10. Appetizer: bacon mac and cheese balls--not our favorite. They weren't very hot, had a strange texture, and just felt off overall. Around a 5.5/10 for us. My wife got chicken tenders and fries as a snack--classic frozen bar food, but perfectly fine for munching during the show. A steady 6/10. Service was excellent--our server was super attentive, quick, and on top of everything. We never waited long for drinks or food. The venue itself is great for comedy, the show was fantastic, the drinks were good, and the food was... mid. But honestly, you're not there for the food. My advice: eat a solid meal beforehand if you're picky about eats, then come ready to laugh. Overall, an awesome night and a memorable birthday. We're already looking for our next show at this spot!
