Had trouble with my watch. Stopped in and let them know. I was out the door in less than 5 mins. Thumbs up and will be back.

I worked for this retailer as a teenager. So I might be a little biased but I believe theyre some…read moreof the best Jewelers in the world! I saw the review below about a Tissot battery and why it cost so much ($55). That would honestly be a steal. That battery from the manufacturer cost well over $200 to have replaced, not to mention that's usually a 4 to 6 week process (this retailer does it while you wait) and there's a few reasons. I wish the person that was working had explained it may be a little bit better. Most decent made Tissot (yes they do have a lower end line like most brands) have a hard plastic seal inside that creates the water resistance. It's not your standard rubber o-ring like you would have on a normal watch (99.9% have a standard O-ring). It's made specifically for that model in a very specific diameter and if it's not replaced or even just placed incorrectly or opened with an exact amount of precision you're going to ruin your watch and lose most (if not all) of your water resistance. Anywhere that's willing to touch it for $7 does not know what they're doing or they just don't care. I guarantee that they did not replace the seal and I guarantee they didn't use the correct tools to open and close it and pressure test it when it was done. That being said, you can find some of the most different and beautiful pieces in this shop. Everything from artistic pieces to your standard engagement rings. And you can tell they focus more on the repair side than they do on the sales and the price is that they offer on things! I mean you can't get a better deal even at a pawn shop nowadays! Highly recommend this jeweler and I'm sorry for the customer that had such a bad experience. It should have been explained a little bit better but there is a language barrier as they are originally from Poland. It has been well over a decade closer to two since I worked for them and I haven't spoken to them in almost a decade so obviously some things can have changed, like an employee that doesn't explain things well enough, but overall this place is a wonderful place to go and I highly recommend them.

I couldn't believe what I heard so I said why so much. He said "It's a Tissot". Why? No explanation. Is it a special battery? Nope! Is it harder to change? Nope! I took it to Sullivan Jewelers in Middlebury. They charged $7(yes, seven). And they were delightful. You decide if you want to get ripped off by a snarky guy.

I called yesterday to get info on a replacement battery for a watch. I spoke to a man named Nick…read morewho was pleasant over the phone. I went in today excited to get this battery for my husband's watch and to see about fixing his other watch. These are expensive Movado timepieces. I was greeted by a nice blond lady and I advised of my conversation yesterday. She showed me who Nick was- who was with a customer so I waited. I noticed he didn't have his mask over his mouth and nose but it was under his chin. After he was done and I approached him I noticed he immediately put on his mask. I remarked about how he put it on for me and left it off for the previous customer. He stated that he needed air in what I perceived to be a arrogant manner. Not that I didn't want the mask on his face for his interaction with me but I just found it insulting at how quickly he put it on. I, myself had on a shield. I then preceded with my quest in getting a battery for the watch which the lady had taken and put behind the counter. He said he wasn't doing it now and it would take 3 days. 3 days for a battery? Really? He mentioned that he was a jewelry something and that he was booked with other items. If he was that busy perhaps he shouldn't have been talking with that previous customer so long. He mentioned that Times Square across from Michael's could replace the battery. Imagine sending business elsewhere because he was " too busy" I'm sure his boss wouldn't appreciate that. I told him the store he mentioned broke an expensive watch by putting an incorrect battery in it before according to a high end jeweler I brought it to before. He went on to give me his credentials. Normally I don't hold my tongue, but I do more now especially due to the climate we live in and the tensions were all feeling but I did ask him how long he's worked there. He told me 19 or 20 years. I responded by saying "I don't know how since you have the worst customer service skills I've seen". To the owners of Michael's Jewelers: It's apparent that you condone the behavior of this smug, arrogant and very rude person you have working for you since he's been there so long but with an economic climate that's before us, you may want to take him aside and advise him that all customer's requests pay his salary. Fortunately for me, I have other jewelers that I frequent such as Becker's in West Hartford and Gem Jewelers to name a few but I figured I'd pop in your store and support my local business. NEVER AGAIN. To the young lady that helped me prior to my awful interaction with the wonderful Nick, I say "Thank you for your professionalism and friendliness" Perhaps she could teach that to the wonderful Nick. Disgusted. Leigh
