She just did not want to admit that the poor quality repair was their mistake. Sterling has always in the past been known for quality repairs, however, this time they missed the mark and I don't know that I will trust them again.

I contacted KC's Gold, as well as a coin dealer in Toronto to gauge their interest in those Olympic coins. Fred from KC responded right away but his Canadian counterpart never responded after two e-mails. How un-Canadian of him!! Anyway, I visited Fred today to accept his very fair offer. The store is awesome, with baseball cards, coins and vinyl LPs everywhere. Fred was one of the very nicest shop owners I've ever met. He was a real pleasure to work with.

I visited the store in September and found the service very disappointing. My visit last was over two hours due to the sales associate jumping from me to other customers. At the end of my visit I was told that I would receive an email of the proposed item of purchase the following Monday. I had not heard back so I called and I was informed that she was busy and would get me my quote that day. When had not heard back in 2 days, I called back again. I was told that they are understaffed and she was overwhelmed. She completed another inquiry and would be working on my order. I was told that she would send me the information that night. There was a timeline for the item as it was a gift I expressed my frustration with the delays and my concerns and the associate abruptly hung up. I did not receive the quote as promised again. I have been a past customer here for many purchases and never experienced such poor service. They are not attentive to the customer and do not follow through with a commitment. Unfortunately I will no longer be a dedicated customer as they do not value customers as they did in the past

I inherited a family heirloom grandfather clock that says Dublin 1824 on the clock face. It ran…read morefine for 15 years after John's Clocks (now retired) got it running back in 2009, but it had taken him one overhaul and 10 follow-up visits to get it running smoothly. Fast forward to spring 2025 when I tried to adjust the timing myself and ended up breaking a part. Based on John's recommendation, I called Phil who picked it up and had it at his shop for several months. He had to manufacture a part as well as make numerous adjustments. It took several more home visits and another stay at his shop to finally get it running smoothly. Phil's price was reasonable and although it took a while to get the clock perfectly balanced, he always made it clear I could keep calling him back until it ran smoothly. To other customers, I would say to keep in mind this is not like a 2-hour engine tune-up, especially for grandfather clocks.

Rick is a true master of his craft. I cannot say enough great things about him. He has more knowledge about timepieces than anyone I ever met. Watches of the caliber that he sells and services are an amazing works of mechanical delicate intricacies. His website clearly states that he is only accepting a select few number of restorations, and I was fortunate enough to have a watch that he agreed to service. Once he began work on the watch, he found that it needed many other parts than originally thought, but stood by his price even when I offered to pay him for those parts. You will know after talking to him for just a few minutes that he truly loves what he does, and has had this calling all of his life. He works on your watch, and no one else. When you send your watch off to any other company, you will get it serviced most likely by someone who you will never meet, and only deal with a salesman for the transaction. For Rick, it clearly is not about making money, but in doing something that loves and was born to do. His retail collection is amazing, too. It's like visiting a watch museum with pieces that are rare, collectible, vintage, and restored to the highest condition. I would highly recommend him for service of your precious time piece, or to purchase a one of a kind watch that you have always dreamed about, or to add to your collection of fine watches. read more

I had an Omega watch that my father had brought back from Germany after WWII. He had given it to me when I was 11 and I had kept it stored safely for years. When I heard about Rick's shop and his watch restoration skills I brought it to him to check out. He said that he'd be able to restore it and using the serial number Rick gave me a history of the watch and the movement which apparently was very much sought after by collectors. Realizing I was not the only customer, I knew it would take a few weeks to get the job done. The result was fantastic and I was delighted. When I was in the area, I'd stop in for a visit and was always treated as a welcome guest. The last time I was there, Rick told me he was planning on cutting back on his hours and thinking about retirement. He will be missed by many. Every time I look at the watch, I think of the story of how my father got the watch and of the guy that brought back to life. I wear it now and then with fond memories. read more

Hello I brought a watch in for service and Rick not only serviced the watch. He asked if I wanted the case and bracelet refinished, as i got the watch second hand and the original brush finish was destroyed by another service over the years, i asked if he could bring it back to original? His reply was" it would be close.".. I gave the go ahead and the results was STUNNING!!! It looked FACTORY finished to me and the watch ran as good as the watch looked. That was about 15 years ago !! I have been going to Rick Littlefield ever since for buying watches , trading watches and servicing watches ! Watchmaking is not like instant Coffee , it takes time and Rick does it RIGHT !
