Quaint restaurant in a quaint area. Parking can be troublesome so allow time to find a place to park. All dishes are shareable. Everything we ate was so delicious! I loved the Brussel sprouts salad and I hate brussel sprouts. You must also order desserts! The lavender soft serve was the best soft serve I ever had. And the triple layered chocolate cake was heavenly! Not too sweet and super moist. The half chicken was perfectly cut to share and oh so tender! Great visit with friendly service.

Cute newer place in downtown Saratoga right across from Solevo. Focus on small plates and I really love that because I gave this the opportunity to try a bevy of things and see what we liked. It did take a while for the food to come out and it wasn't very busy so that was a little frustrating. Loved the options they had on the charcuterie board and would eat that every day. They also had this mushroom terrene. That was one of the best things I've ever eaten in my whole life. It had a pesto and some arugula, and I think some goat cheese... Obviously mushrooms on the seated sourdough that was to die for. However, my friend went back two days later and they said their menu is seasonal and it rotates and they didn't have it on the menu anymore. So if they happen to have it absolutely order it. I thought the potatoes were boring. The broccolini was charred and needed a ton more sauce and salt. The bone marrow came out nice and had good flavor, but I thought the salt was a sauce and took a heaping spoonful of it and nearly sent myself into shock. Overall, though like the vibe and the ambience. Love being able to share small plates, so would eat at again.

I went to Familiar Creature for my birthday dinner last night (05/23/2026) and had a wonderful experience! We ordered several small plates to share- focaccia, poutine with duck, glazed carrots, and bucatini! Everything was delicious and our server Mikayla was very attentive and went out of her way to make it a very special evening! The wine list was incredible with a truly dizzying selection of both glasses and bottles to choose from! I loved the interior, very relaxed yet chic atmosphere with velvet seats and nice touches in decor.

I would say that everything in my previous review stands 100% except they have significantly expanded their menu. Wine is still considerably pricey with not very generous pours for a significant amount of money. But their cocktails are spectacular. Enjoy!!!@

This is a wine bar that knows wine! There is something on the curated menu for everyone. To drink we chose a bottle of Chenin Blanc from the loire valley, a glass of the orange wine and a midori fizz. For food we ordered the cheeseboard that was customizable with several options (our choices: buttery goat cheese, cows milk cheese, smoked perch, country pate, olives) and included a baguette. We also ordered focaccia bread and Caesar salad. Everything was delivered by course which is good since the table was small. The only miss for us was the Caesar salad. The dressing with very heavy on lemon and didn't allow the other flavors to come through. We will definitely be back for date night. They know how to find incredible wine and pair it with delicious food.

The Thirsty Owl is…read moreowned by the Fjnger Lake Vineyard of the same name and we were drawn in by a Saratoga Restaurant week special and we had a nice lunch in a surprising venue. First, I gotta say that parking was a bear. There is a small lot behind where there is an entry direct to the bar area. That lot was full and spaces that were open were marked for other business and threats of being towed, same with the adjoining lot. We did find a spot about 150 yards away in the street. We sat at the bar area (because the dining room was full with reservations for lunch?!?) which was in a bright open room filled with wine by the bottle for sale. All wine is bottled by Thirsty Owl Vinyards, beer on tap is local beer and alcohol is NYS distilled. We were immediately attended to. Every bottle for sale is also sold by the glass and the bartenders will tell you about the wine and its characteristics- very knowledgeable! (husband and wife owners perhaps?) Chardonnay was decent as was the German white. I would stick with semi sweet or sweet. A good hint- most people were drinking the Sangria. I had the burger and chose the pumpkin soup and both were great! Wife had the vegetarian flatbread, which was a little bland. Could have used more balsamic vinaigrette. Local beer was very good. If you're a serious oenophile, you'll know about NYS wine, so this might not be the greatest place for you. That being said this is a very nice place, service is top notch attentive and knowledgeable. If you favor local NY wine, beer and spirits, this place is for you! 2 lunch entree specials, two glasses of wine ($10 & 11) and two beers was $72 ($30 of that was food) before tip. Enjoy!

Mixed berries, walnuts, blue cheese crumbles with mixed greens lightly dressed....just right. Potato pancakes were no slouch though...thin and crispy with both applesauce and sour cream on the side. Not greasy! Wings were crispy and just spicy enough with plenty of blue cheese dressing to share. An odd number of wings showed up (11...thought it was supposed to be a dozen). We tried the spaetzle but could only have a taste...we got too full. Took it home and will enjoy it this week. Really nice experience-will definitely be back.

We started with the potato pancakes and a glass of Gruner Veltliner. I've eaten potato pancakes my whole life, theirs were good but lacking in salt. I rarely use salt so they were definitely under seasoned. I have no idea what my husband ate but I ordered the Kassler from the Oktoberfest menu. Kassler are smoked pork chops, slow cooked and served with sauerkraut. They came with potato salad. The pork chop was melt in the mouth gorgeous, the sauerkraut was delicious but the potato salad was cold and just okay. I had to bring mom back for the Kassler so we went a few days later. Mom had the Kassler with spaetzle and I got the Sauerbraten. Once again the food was outstanding. Both times we sat at a table looking out on Broadway, getting to watch the world go by. The service was great, friendly without hovering and really sweet. I can't wait to plan my next visit.
