The place is small and has some nods to history via the wall mural. We were prepared to have a long wait (about an hour from seating to eating) as they make all dishes from scratch. Most groups were ordering pizzas and we opted for a meatball parm sub and their haddock puttanesca special. There were two servers on for the evening covering and they seemed overwhelmed by the rush which was not our experience before. While the food wait was expected it did take a considerable amount of time to get out drink order taken and then to have it arrive. In between ordering and getting our drinks I noted out server taking care of 2 other tables bringing out food and drinks. It took about half an hour for the bread to arrive at the table. The puttanesca was good and well seasoned but the meatball parm sub and fries were surprisingly under seasoned. We may be back again but will probably not go in when they are nearly full again.

I think the extra salt helped for the leftovers because normally I need to add salt on leftover beef, but not this one. The veggies were cooked perfectly btw. My partner got the rigatoni (no meat) and it looked dry to me, but he liked it. The house wine was a caraffe for $18 and was ok tasting. Our server was too efficient. She was so fast and it was uncomfortable. She did not make any small talk she just rushed about and it did not feel like an old school Italian place in that regard. I had the stuffed sole with a side of pasta. I chose penne with oil and garlic and a "just right" side portion was served in a small bowl. I added some of that Parmesan from the table and was a happy camper. The sole was flaky and tasty-not fishy....it reminded me of the stuffed sole we would get from our local fish store in NYC when I was a kid. Clams casino were a good appetizer....but it's not really my jam. I prefer just regular stuffed clams (which are not on the menu). The sausage and peppers: a very generous portion that got solid reviews. Lots of pasta and enough leftover for a couple of days. Flavor was nice but why not just use a petite filet? Taste was decent but the beef was near inedible. Wife had the Lobster Francaise over spaghetti. Lobster tail was cooked to perfection but the spaghetti was gummy and flat with almost no "lemon caper butter" as described. Oh well. Food is served quickly but not rushed and the bartender/server was awesome. Also, they're still playing background music on a garage sale sound bar. Uggh.... Next time we're going to Farmacy...

It's a big open room with a moderately sized and full-service bar. The food is well-made traditional Italian with generous portions. We've tried a lot of the menu and haven't been disappointed. The meatballs are great. The wait staff are attentive, conscientious and clearly care about your experience. This is a family place, but dress appropriately and only bring your kids if they're well behaved. This isn't a place for unruly toddlers or crying babies. Make a reservation a few days in advance and show up 15-20 minutes early. You'll be happy you did and happy you came here.

When I sat down in the dining area, I took one look at the giant oven and knew we had to order a pizza again for dinner even though we had Kay's Pizza the night before. The medium size pizza with pepperoni and sausage looked normal enough but it was an exceptionally good pizza. Nice thin, crispy crust. Not too cheesy. Remarkably, we could not finish the pizza so we boxed the rest and took it home. Our server was really nice and very helpful. The music by the Saratoga String Band was wonderful, too. They could play anything including a nice rockabilly cover by the Stray Cats. There's even an upstairs gift shop which offered a remarkable array of items including pottery, handbags and snacks.
