Went with a group of 8. Every thing about this place can be summed up as creative. First off, the vibe is cool and cozy. Staff friendly and helpful. Lots of special cocktails which were all great. Show stopper was the food. Menu is not huge but everything was delicious. Lots of plates moving around the table to share tastes. This place is very inviting and cool. From the outside patio seating to the outside patio, the beautiful potted plants that surround the patio. Love the garage doors that open the place up. What a fun spot for a delicious dinner! Our group had a wonderful evening from start to finish. The staff was incredibly welcoming, friendly, and attentive, making us feel right at home. We kicked off the meal with creative cocktails and a selection of appetizers before diving into our entrées. Everything was delicious, and the generous portions made it easy to share and sample each other's dishes. I especially appreciated how flavorful and perfectly cooked the fish was. Finally had a chance to try Kindred last week(end). I was honestly won over when we first walked in....we didn't have a reservation but asked if they could accommodate two for dinner. The hostess/server was awesome: not pretentious and looking down her nose at us since we didn't have a reservation. She did say that she needed the table by 7 PM. No problem! That said, it was pretty busy for being early in the evening. Guests kept coming in as we were getting ready to depart. The food that we tried was very good: -the chips with crème fraîche were very nice, but I don't know that I would go out of my way for these again. I really enjoyed the chips themselves... very thin and light ...and quite salty (in a good way). A little bit of fish roe is mixed in for "extra saltiness" and a little bit of a fishy experience in the crème fraîche. -Brussel sprouts for me were the winner! Absolutely delicious and we added some chicken so that we'd have a little bit of protein. Grilled chicken was perfectly flavored and not dry at all. Brussels sprouts had just the right amount of char and umami. -flatbread was honestly my least favorite. We stuck with the basic burrata/Margherita pizza/flatbread, and after eating the brussels sprouts it just didn't hold up in terms of flavor. Some of the other options might be better if you're looking for more of a flavor punch.... but it was served steaming, hot, and freshly made. As more people showed up, it definitely got noisier... so prepare for a bit of a loud environment...pretty much the same situation in all downtown Saratoga restaurants these days. Chic and delicious restaurant. The steak frites and the shishito peppers were my favorite dishes. The decor was super classy with cute indoor and outdoor seating options. I was randomly obsessed with the leather menus. One downside was that it wasn't the best for a larger group -- there were 13 of us and we had to contort seating in a way that was a bit awkward. Went before a SPAC show and was thrilled by the drinks/wine menu and the specials. I went hoping the girl dinner was still available on thursday nights, which it was not and there was no mention of it. I had the special which was mussels and fries. We split the stuffed artichoke appetizer which was very good. And the special wine of the night went extremely well with the flatbread. read more

The atmosphere at Kindred is super trendy and fun for a night out. I loved the lighting and the decor in there. The baked camembert was great. I had a seasonal apple flavored cocktail that didn't have much apple flavor. We got two entrees to share. The squash ravioli is out of this world!! Seriously delicious, really great flavor, loved the pepitas! The steak frites was disappointing. The potatoes and aioli were good but the steak came out cold, a bit over done, and chewy. App and entree prices very affordable from our Fairfax county CT, point of view We got to eat outside and the selection of tables and big comfy chairs to the side of Kindred are fun and hard to choose. Prices are very nice and we all enjoyed sharing all the apps we ordered. Was plenty of food for most and this turned out to be dinner at least for the women at the table. 2 of the guys would eat a bit more at the next stop but not much more. The event was hosted by the saratoga springs bike club, we rode 35miles on Friday, 55 on Saturday and 35 on Sunday. No reservation - sat at the bar. Made room for us right away. They make elegant and fine dining feel approachable for everyone. Their espresso martini has a hint of orange which is phenomenal, as is their Manhattan. We ordered the warm bread, olives, and bacon dates and for $30 in food we felt like we were living lavish. This review is based on the food alone. Unfortunately, it was terrible. We couldn't even eat what we ordered. We're from out of town and came up for the day to visit the Saratoga Race Track. We stopped in for a quick bite before the drive home. The restaurant itself was pretty, and the staff was friendly. We kept our order simple: focaccia and two margarita flatbreads. I hate to say it, but the focaccia was some of the worst bread I've ever tasted. It was dry, almost stale, and had very little flavor. The flatbreads were also a major disappointment. I found the tomato sauce too heavy-handed, and the edges came out completely black and burned, making them nearly impossible to eat. We quickly paid and left. It was incredibly disappointing and a waste of money, especially since we barely ate anything. I honestly don't understand how this place has such high reviews. Hopefully, we just caught them on a very off day. read more

Experienced nostalgia of the good old Merry Monk days. We started with a bottle of at the bar. The host informed us that our table was still being used by the previous res so we just relaxed and ordered a bottle at the bar. I really admired the various offerings and settled on a bottle of Milan Nestarec. It was lovely and full of stone fruit notes. There is SO much to like about this new spot. The interior is beautiful with nice, varied seating options. I cannot leave a review without mentioning the bar. It's nice and wide, so really comfortable to eat at, with the most comfortable bar seats I've ever experienced. If I was a local, I would make it my go-to bar just for the seats alone! Next up, drinks. As a wine bar, it naturally has a great selection of wines. I recommend talking to your server for direction as everybody is really knowledgeable about the wine list. And if you are not a wine person, they've got a great cocktail selection as well (and I am picky when it comes to cocktails). Finally, the food. The menu has a lot to choose from and is ever changing, a feature I really like because keeping up with the season changes is important. The flatbread with the spiced creme is killer and the pork schnitzel was somehow way better than anticipated. This place has a lot to offer and can fit different plans, from girl dinner to date night. It's definitely good for both and you should for sure try it. My grandparents and I were really excited to eat here; we liked the atmosphere, were excited by the menu, and our waiter was great, but it was wayyyy too loud. The musicians were talented, but we couldn't hear ourselves talk...or think. It would have potentially been enjoyable had it been 60% less loud. My grandfather even had to turn his hearing aids off. We were pleasantly surprised with terrific food and great service at peak time on a holiday weekend. We loved sitting near the open kitchen with 2 wood burning ovens. We each had a glass of Txakoli to start which was lovely. For appetizers we had the spiced cream and prosciutto flatbread and the Bibb salad. Both were delicious and a generous portion so easily shareable. We split the strip steak and wood-fired asparagus for our main meal which was more than enough to share and very tasty. I love a place that isn't afraid to properly salt the food. All and all we had a wonderful meal and experience. Often Memorial weekend can be a bit of a mess with staff getting up to speed for the season but Kindred really demonstrated that they are professionals in every way. read more

This place is a serious gem. We got our first taste during Saratoga Spring's annual Chowderfest, and - although they served a vegan chowder - I can say, without hesitation that it was the best one of the day. It is so good, that I am desperate for them to add it to their winter menu. We went back around the 4th of July, and again, we had a great experience. We tried their brisket sandwich and their Brussels sprouts. The Brussels were phenomenal. All the accoutrements made it the perfect snack. The brisket was really good - a little tough, but really good. We went back for dinner last night. I had the spring ravioli with corn ricotta filling, and it was absolutely stellar. It was perfect, well-rounded, flavorful, and I didn't feel full and disgusting after - just perfectly satiated. My husband had the classic flatbread, and honestly, I have to say it wasn't that great. When they say "flatbread", they mean it. It is a thinner-than-a-cracker- crust - which is fine if you'er not very hungry. Just don't think you're going to leave with a full belly if you just eat this. The elements on the flatbread were fine. The sauce is ok, and they used mozzarella, but given how limited this dish is, it could use an extra, more flavorful cheese (maybe parmesan, or provolone). I don't mind the thin crust, but it's not what you would expect. I would prefer something a little better executed. The ambiance is beautiful, cozy and hip. The music is great, and the staff has always been friendly. I love this restaurant, and I hope they stick around. read more
