everything was amazing! we tried so many things. great apps, chicken parm, steak, seafood. Highly recommen!

We tried the Elody Restaurant for the first time. We were greeted and seated quickly by friendly staff. Our waitress arrived fairly quickly and was friendly. She got our drinks started and a short time later brought our drinks over. We received some bread before ordering. The bread was good, but a little heavy and could have used just a touch more cook. The presentation of the bread on a board with garlic butter and cinnamon butter smeared on the board was a really nice presentation. While we were waiting to order some appetizers, Larry came over and explained the restaurant to us. He was friendly and personable and it was nice chatting with him. Our waitress came back over and we ordered a Wedge salad and a crab cake to start. We put in our dinner order at the same time. A little while later (about a perfect amount of time) the appetizer and salad arrived. My wife said the crab cake was one of the best she's ever had, and she orders them often at nice restaurants. My wedge salad was excellent. Our waitress came over and got another glass of wine for my wife. I was still working on my wine, but my water glass was about half gone. I moved it to the middle of the table so they could see it to refill it, but it went unfilled for quite a while. After they cleared our plates, we waited for our meal. It took longer than I had hoped for our entrees to arrive. I would estimate close to 35 minutes or more. This was a little too long. I like a little time between my appetizer and entree, but this was too long to wait. My wife got the special which was a 10 oz filet, with a blue cheese sauce on the side (they gave her too much, it could have had 1/4 the size and it would have been enough, which means waste for the kitchen) and it had shrimp and I believe scallops. Her steak was cooked perfect, was a very good size, and she said all her food was very good. I ordered the 16 oz ribeye. Larry had said they custom cut each steak in the kitchen and the sizes were generous from the chef. I noted on their menu that they had listed the cook temperatures along with what the actual temp is. They had rare listed as 125 and medium rare as 135. This is a big range based on my being a steak connoisseur. I don't prefer my steak rare, so I ordered it medium rare. I was expecting a warm red center. When the steak arrived, it was a lot thinner than i had anticipated. I checked the cook with the knife and it looked a little over cooked. I cut into it and to my displeasure, it was overcooked. It was pink on the center and on the outer edges it was brown. I don't like sending food back, so I decided to just eat it. I will say, that even overcooked, the flavor of the steak was excellent. I think their temp range is slightly off based on the writing in the menu and I think the thinner cut had part to do with it overcooking. My baked potato was cooked perfect and the cooked carrots were also cooked just how I like them, a little firm and not mushy. It wasn't until after I was finished with my meal that I had my water glass refilled, which was by Larry, not the waitress or other staff. I don't mind paying good money for a great steak. If your business claims one of their best things is a steak, you gotta do a little better. As far as overcooked steaks that I have eaten, this was one of the better overcooked steak I have eaten, but still overcooked. Overall impressions: the staff were all friendly, the food was very good (next time I will ask for rare + instead of medium rare), the steak was overcooked and the service time was my main drawback to this dining experience. I do believe we will go back. The inside was a really nice modern, clean and relaxing feel. It did get a bit loud while eating, not sure if that was due to larger parties or just the acoustics. this restaurant was okay. cute interior and nice for a date night. really good service, waitress was sweet. just so overpriced for very average food. not bad by any means but these pastas did not need to be $30+ for the quality. Very run of the mill. could have made them at home haha The french onion soup though? one of the best i've ever had randomly. also the zucchini. really good. same breading on the chicken. that fryer is keeping the kitchen's flavors afloat haha read more

I had only been to the previous version of Elody known as "13 North" once. I recall enjoying my meal there and know many that absolutely loved the food there. We have been trying to get to the new "Elody"restaurant for a few weeks and finally made it this past weekend. Our server was very nice and she actually made the experience really good. The girl that seated us was a bit green and needs more training. There was a lovely gentleman also helping with seating and checking up on customers. They did a really nice job renovating and were able to add a lot more tables without making it feel too crowded. The rolls that they brought to the table were very good....warm, flaky and buttery. Speaking of butter, there was a schmear of garlic butter on one side and sweet cinnamon butter on the other. Probably could have used a little more of both on that there wood slab.... We started with the calamari and fried zucchini. Everyone enjoyed both of the appetizers and what stood out was how tender the calamari was. Main courses included fish tacos, chicken franchise, fried chicken and baked cod. Everyone enjoyed their entrées: feedback on the fried chicken was that it was very crispy and the mashed potatoes were excellent. Fish tacos got rave reviews as did the chicken franchise. The baked cod that I had was decent... but the sauce for it was supposed to be served on the side - it was not. It was a lemon butter sauce that was unfortunately, way too salty. We shared tiramisu for dessert and the slice was gigantic. Coffee was ordered as decaf so it took a little while to brew a pot. The Irish coffees were "perfect" and overall we had a very nice experience. They probably still need to work out a few kinks, even though we were told that the entire crew came from the old restaurant. I'll give it some more time and try Elody again in the future. They spend a lot of time bragging about how wonderful the food is when you walk in, how homemade everything is.... special steaks etc. That's not what we got. We did get an inedible overs-salted seafood pasta dish. Dry as a bone seventy dollar tomahawk chop. Spicy seafood pasta too hot to eat which looked like they made it fresh Wednesday. Last Wednesday. We told them we weren't going to pay and they didn't argue. It's a place full of nice people who work there, but this place is a tourist trap serving corporate cooking, plain and simple. read more

13 North has been one of our favorite restaurants for the last 8 years, so seeing them reimagine their space just feels extra special.. They've officially relocated to downtown Saratoga with a brand-new name Elody Restaurant, named after their adorable granddaughter and let me tell you... it is STUNNING. Absolutely beautiful space, the same incredible staff, all of your favorite dishes in a fresh new location... and YES, the cheesecake is still there!!! We were really disappointed with our experience last night. We arrived at 7:45 PM and no one came to our table until 8:15 PM, and that was only after I had to ask a busser if someone was going to come over to us. Once our server finally came over, we ordered drinks and an appetizer. The appetizer arrived before our drinks, and we had to ask her to check on the drinks. A table that was seated next to us after we arrived received their food before we even had ours, so we eventually had to ask someone to check on our order. When our food finally came out, our server commented that the table next to us hadn't ordered a filet, implying that was the reason our food took so long. Unfortunately, the filet we ordered was not cooked properly and was barely warm. My pasta was completely cold and had to be sent back to the kitchen just to be reheated. Throughout the meal, we were never asked if we wanted another drink, and there was very little communication or attention from our server. What was most disappointing was that there was no apology or acknowledgment of the issues, and nothing was offered to make up for the experience. We understand that restaurants can get busy, but the lack of service, communication, and attention to the quality of the food made this a very frustrating experience. We went to Elody last night with a group of four, and unfortunately, the service was extremely disappointing. When we first arrived, we sat for about 16 minutes before anyone even came over to acknowledge us. Unfortunately, that pretty much set the tone for the rest of the night, we felt invisible for most of the meal. Our server took our food order, and then we didn't see her again for roughly 50 minutes. She finally checked on us when our food was essentially a minute away from coming out, despite the fact that we had already been waiting close to an hour for our order. When the food arrived, it was also lukewarm, which was especially disappointing given the prices. I really wanted to like Elody, but the overall experience just wasn't worth the price. It honestly feels like the restaurant has grown very quickly, but the staffing and service haven't kept up with the demand. The food may have potential, but the lack of attentiveness and extremely long wait made it difficult to enjoy the experience. Hopefully they can address the staffing and service issues, because there's a lot of potential here, but based on our experience last night, we won't be coming back. read more

First time dining here and it won't be our last. Homemade rolls were delicious! Dinner entrees delicious! We had the tomahawk pork chop and stacked chicken. We saved room for dessert! Cannoli cheesecake is why we drove 45 minutes tonight & through social media I put my little request in hoping it'd be offered tonight & I was so happy to find that it was ... it was absolutely amazing! This was our first time at Elody and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Our friends had to cancel therefore our reservation for a booth was now an option for a table or bar. We chose the bar seats. Plenty of room and nice that the bar stools swivel so easier in and out. I started out with a lovely St Patrick's day themed margarita - just lively and tasty! Next we had the Calamari - fra diavolo style. Very light and served piping hot. My companion had a rye manhattan and then had the shepherds pie. I had the lobster sliders for my entree. We both enjoyed our meals. The seating in general is very nice, with lots of windows and natural lighting. We had never stopped when it was 13 North at Exit 13. Seemed like more of a bar associated w the hotel. The new location and decor seem like a great fit. The menu had options for small dishes or entrees, all reasonably priced. read more

Nice that bar seats can be reserved. But the bartender/server needs to be trained better (even though she mentioned several times that she has years of experience). I ordered a cocktail, companion ordered a mocktail (of the same drink). She couldn't remember which was which. I tasted both and neither tasted of alcohol. She reluctantly offered to remake both. Very concerning is what if my dinner partner was a recovering alcoholic? (he is not.) Also way too much talking about herself and how much she knows about vodkas and tequilas .‍ Chicken parm was excellent; salmon piccata was so-so. Even though our experience wasn't a very good one, I do hope they do well. read more

This was our first time to Elody and we really wanted it to be great, but that was unfortunately not the case. First, the good things. The food was very good. The rolls, ceasar salad, crab cake (to die for), chicken parm and Salmon were all very well done. We sat at the bar and the bartender was very good and saved the evening (I wish I could remenber her name, my bad). It was busy on this Saturday night but the rolls, crab cake and salad came out just a little slow, but reflective of a busy night. This is where it falls apart and you find out what a restaurant is really all about. We were seated at 6:30pm and had finished our rolls, salad and crab cake at about 7:15pm. At 7:45pm I asked the bartender to check on our dinners which she did and reported back that there was a large party ahead of us and we were next after they were served. This tells me they really don't have control of their kitchen. At about 8pm the owner came over and said that he was sorry, but with the legalization of pot, he can't control his employees. What? I was truly shocked. He later took this comment back, but is this the person you want talking to your guests? But wait, it gets better. I went to the mens room and while I was gone he came back and spoke to my wife. He picked up my phone and said they had a policy about leaving phones on the bar. He then picked up my phone and wanted to take a selfy with my wife. She politely declined and he left. Are you kidding? At this point I'm done with this place. It's 8:15pm and we still don't have our dinners. I asked the bartender to have our dinners wrapped to go, but just then the dinners arrived. Even though I'm no longer in a very festive mood, the food was very good. Throughout this ordeal the gal behind the bar did everything she could to help us. She was able to comp our dinners and a round of drinks and apologized repeatedly. We left at 8:30pm and I got a phone call 5 minutes later from the bartender who told me I forgot my credit card. She is a gem. I don't know if we'll go back, but I would definitely get the owner away from the guests. read more

Waitress told us next time we come to tell us we needed separate checks in the beginning because it's too hard for them to figure out how to change it. Two strikes against service. I really wanted to love this place. It's in a great location, the space is nice, and the food was good, but the service was so poorly executed that it completely overshadowed everything else. I've worked in restaurants all over Saratoga, so I understand firsthand how much strong service elevates a dining experience, and how quickly bad service can ruin it. To start, our waitress repeatedly brought four drinks to the table without a tray. Not just once, every single time we ordered drinks. Drinks were spilling, the table was getting wet, and there was zero urgency to clean it up. It is completely unprofessional to think you can deliver any number of drinks without a tray. I don't care if you're working at TGI Fridays or Solevo -- this is basic service etiquette. Uniform standards were nonexistent. Some staff wore black, others random shirts, and the food runner came out in a zip-up sweatshirt, blue jeans, and dirty white Converse. It felt disorganized and sloppy, not the atmosphere you want in a restaurant trying to be taken seriously. Not to mention water service was equally awkward. Instead of refilling glasses properly, we were constantly interrupted and asked to hand over our water glasses, breaking conversation and flow. These details may seem small, but they are foundational to good service, and when they're consistently done wrong, it reflects a complete lack of training. While I understand that timing and pacing take time to refine, not checking in on tables after food or drinks are delivered is simply unacceptable. It is basic service etiquette to return after each course to confirm everything is correct and address any issues immediately. That never happened. Our food came out late and incorrect, and no one checked in to make sure we received what we ordered or needed anything. This isn't a timing issue, it's a training issue. This restaurant has serious potential, but without proper training and clear expectations for staff, it will struggle in Saratoga's competitive dining scene. My husband & I just had the BEST dinner on Friday. My Blueberry Margarita was awesome. The Toast Filet mignon toast - bruschetta, balsamic glaze, shaved parmesan cheese was yummy. The Cod Francese was fresh prepared with lemon, butter & oil with pasta. It was delicious. The Huge Canoli cheesecake was awesome & HUGE. All the desserts are homemade by the owner. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with pink chairs, beautiful bar & friendly waitress. You should definitely check it out! 10 out of 10!!!! We will definitely eat here again.
