Homemade bread and butter (cinnamon, garlic)
Jody W.

I had only been to the previous version of Elody known as "13 North" once. I recall enjoying my meal there and know many that absolutely loved the food there. We have been trying to get to the new "Elody"restaurant for a few weeks and finally made it this past weekend. Our server was very nice and she actually made the experience really good. The girl that seated us was a bit green and needs more training. There was a lovely gentleman also helping with seating and checking up on customers. They did a really nice job renovating and were able to add a lot more tables without making it feel too crowded. The rolls that they brought to the table were very good....warm, flaky and buttery. Speaking of butter, there was a schmear of garlic butter on one side and sweet cinnamon butter on the other. Probably could have used a little more of both on that there wood slab.... We started with the calamari and fried zucchini. Everyone enjoyed both of the appetizers and what stood out was how tender the calamari was. Main courses included fish tacos, chicken franchise, fried chicken and baked cod. Everyone enjoyed their entrées: feedback on the fried chicken was that it was very crispy and the mashed potatoes were excellent. Fish tacos got rave reviews as did the chicken franchise. The baked cod that I had was decent... but the sauce for it was supposed to be served on the side - it was not. It was a lemon butter sauce that was unfortunately, way too salty. We shared tiramisu for dessert and the slice was gigantic. Coffee was ordered as decaf so it took a little while to brew a pot. The Irish coffees were "perfect" and overall we had a very nice experience. They probably still need to work out a few kinks, even though we were told that the entire crew came from the old restaurant. I'll give it some more time and try Elody again in the future. A nice addition to Phila Street.

Their famous homemade cannoli cheesecake!

First time dining here and it won't be our last. Homemade rolls were delicious! Dinner entrees delicious! We had the tomahawk pork chop and stacked chicken. We saved room for dessert! Cannoli cheesecake is why we drove 45 minutes tonight & through social media I put my little request in hoping it'd be offered tonight & I was so happy to find that it was ... it was absolutely amazing! So delicious! Beautiful restaurant and our server, Amanda was just as amazing as our dessert!

One of our favorite spots in Saratoga. It's almost always busy but the staff makes you feel…read morewelcomed even when it's standing room only. This is a hidden gem.

What a gem. What a vibe. WHAT a cocktail menu…read more Tucked away, totally unpretentious, but with a STAGGERING, almost-unbelievable range of martinis and martini-adjacent cocktails in this fall/winter-perfect, cozy, mostly-paneled speakeasy that's also evocative of a semi-secret lobby bar of an old hotel (it's not though!) Even the music selections made it sound like prohibition era jazz standards were drifting in from another room. It manages to be simultaneously totally old school and totally hip, fancy-feeling and swanky, but also with the ease of a local watering hole... no easy feat. From t-shirts to suits, locals to newbies, it has a totally come-as-you-are, everybody's-welcome atmosphere. Even the locals made us feel at home, giving us great insight into several restaurants all less than a block or two away. Wines and beers also available, but mixology is the main act here. We were there over two separate bartender shifts, both times on a quiet Sunday late-afternoon into evening, but both gents have it all down to a science without forsaking the art of crafting a cocktail. They pushed my formerly-favorite Manhattan (at NYC's King Cole Bar, there, as much for the environs as the drink) squarely out of the top spot, and as I told our bartender after I spied a semi-hidden bottle of Chartreuse and he offered to make an off-the-menu Last Word, it was the first time I fully understood that drink. That hard-to-find liquid green-gold is in VERY good hands at 9 Maple! Perfect for date night, but also welcoming to the lone visitor in search of a PERFECTLY crafted, amply -poured cocktail. Eat before you arrive, or pop back after dinner for a nightcap. Although we were there for off-season, an outdoor courtyard hints at higher traffic when the weather's warmer and the horses are racing. And even off-season, Jazz band nights attract a crowd. This place should really be on more national Top Cocktail Bars lists. It's that good.

Great Saturday happy hour, fantastic bar, friendly staff. Nice mix of options although we like…read morethe flatbread pizza.

Finally had a chance to try Kindred last week(end)…read more I was honestly won over when we first walked in....we didn't have a reservation but asked if they could accommodate two for dinner. The hostess/server was awesome: not pretentious and looking down her nose at us since we didn't have a reservation. She did say that she needed the table by 7 PM. No problem! That said, it was pretty busy for being early in the evening. Guests kept coming in as we were getting ready to depart. The food that we tried was very good: -the chips with crème fraîche were very nice, but I don't know that I would go out of my way for these again. I really enjoyed the chips themselves... very thin and light ...and quite salty (in a good way). A little bit of fish roe is mixed in for "extra saltiness" and a little bit of a fishy experience in the crème fraîche. -Brussel sprouts for me were the winner! Absolutely delicious and we added some chicken so that we'd have a little bit of protein. Grilled chicken was perfectly flavored and not dry at all. Brussels sprouts had just the right amount of char and umami. -flatbread was honestly my least favorite. We stuck with the basic burrata/Margherita pizza/flatbread, and after eating the brussels sprouts it just didn't hold up in terms of flavor. Some of the other options might be better if you're looking for more of a flavor punch.... but it was served steaming, hot, and freshly made. As more people showed up, it definitely got noisier... so prepare for a bit of a loud environment...pretty much the same situation in all downtown Saratoga restaurants these days. I will definitely go back and try some other items on the menu.
