Ava was our server - very welcoming and friendly and was patient enough to wait the extra few minutes to take our order. We got a few shareable dishes, but their Green Goddess Salad ($15.95) was delicious and a pretty generous portion for two adults to share (even without protein)! The table enjoyed some classic Mexican cocktails and we have a pleasant experience during our stay here. Service was quick, and food arrived within 15-mins of placing the order. I am visiting from MA, I'm so surprised this place does not have 5 stars. I got the Diablo chimichangas, my daughter got the kids make ur own tacos & my aunt got the steak fajitas. Cantina was recommended to me by a colleague that knew i was going to be in the area. It was in my top favorite dining experiences in Saratoga Springs. I have to say the Ambiance is really a key attraction here. I enjoyed the Chicken Chimichanga Crispy flour tortilla with chicken tinga, queso blanco, lettuce, onion, salsa verde, crema, cotija cheese, cilantro ($23.95). It was served with Rice and Black Beans and every bite was delicious. The only complaints was the salsa was not that flavorful and had no heat, but added some hot sauce and fixed it right up. We stopped in here our firat night in from out of town. It was busy for a Monday evening but that did not slow them down at all. We were seated quickly and comfortably. The staff was efficient and very nice. We had the Street Corn appetizer which was really well cooked and seasoned. For our meals my girlfriend had the Mahi Magi Tacos which were a good gluten free option. They were prepared very well. I had the Veggie Quesadilla which was a generous size. It was fried to perfection and the ingredients were very flavorful. The establishment was cozy and very well kept. We both used the bathroom and they were clean and in great order. We stopped in for a margarita. So glad we did. The three of us had the Ultra Margarita which was not made with margarita mix and had Hornitas Cristolina 100% agave tequila. So I got together with some pals for a birthday shindig and let me tell you it was a real fiesta! Not your traditional Mexican spot! I loved the layout of the restaurant, it had such a city vibe. Starting off with drinks - I had a mojito and it was probably the worst mojito I've had. For this to be a Mexican restaurant I feel drinks that go on theme need to be on point. The mojito tasted like pure lime. It was just one tone. Food - amazing!!!! I tried the "coco camarones" (coconut shrimp) and it was one of the best appetizers I've had! Let's start of by saying that we've gone to Cantina for years, and have always found the food to be decent Tex-Mex. Chips and salsa (bland as ever) arrived as soon as we sat down. We looked at the menu and immediately noticed significant changes, mostly to the prices. What was once an affordably priced joint has now become a rather expensive dining experience. Prices seem to be up 30% over what they were just months ago. For example, a salad with shrimp is now $25.95. Chicken fajitas are now $24.95. The hostess said the one we asked for, and she said was resevered but they claim 6 cannot reserve outside. The salsa and appetizers were good. We got the jalapeños and carrots. Went for a drink here this past Saturday, which was Belmont Stakes event at Saratoga Racetrack. I thought it would be hard to get a seat on the roof top bar but no crowds at all. Everyone was at the racetrack! I did not have any food just a frozen margarita and it was delicious. On a hot roof top day it was the perfect cocktail. Tuna was ice cold- if your menu say "seared" sear it fresh and serve NOT sear 10 pounds last week, throw in the cooler and serve it cold. Why? Because cold tacos are not appealing. Bartenders can seem a bit ambivalent at times but it's understanding: they are in constant motion slinging margaritas.
