The employees are nice but the parking lot is always filled with trash that blows all over the town. Its disgusting. I wish they would clean up the parking lot each shift. That is part of the job. I was racially profiled. I entered this store looking for a few items for my mother that was in the hospital. I located some towels my mother was in need of. I browsed around a bit while I was on the phone and headed towards the check stand when I heard a males voice screaming down the isle put your items down and get out of my store you messed up my towels, my husband on the phone asked what was going on !?!? I had no idea, until he appeared from around the isle pointed at me he said you messed up the towels put your items down and get out of my store I pointed at myself and said what? He said yes put your items down I said if your claiming I messed up your towels I can fix them he said NO, Get OUT or I'll call the police I said please do!! I did nothing wrong. I put items down and asked the young lady at the front for Regional Managers name she said she had no idea then I asked who the was manager was he butted in and said it was himself I asked his name and he wouldn't disclose. I walked towards the door and asked was he calling the police he stated he always does!! Once I walked through the door and turned around he proceeded to stand by the door and lock it so no was able to go out or in. The police arrived they said it was private and he was able to ask me to leave, they asked if I had a criminal background or warrant I replied no and they asked for my ID that I supplied, they didn't allow me to tell my side. They seem to know him quite well. I asked if they knew his name, right away they said his name was James P. Immediately I searched to contact corporate which was a wild goose chase they don't have anything direct, then to find out Dollar Tree owns them and trying to close them all and sell family dollars. After about a week and half I received a call from the district manager she expressed apologies and said she looked at the camera and saw his demeanor and it was not appropriate and stated he was her best manager that statement was alarming to hear, if he's the best OMG what are the other stores dealing and with. It's so hard to get in touch with corporate, I'm sure customers give up!! I'm going all the way. I feel I was profiled and discriminated against and I was humiliated and I now have a bit of anxiety. It seems corporate is sweeping it under the rug!! read more

Just so everyone else knows, this Family Dollar location does not honor their website's prices. They sell 1PC 9V batteries per package, not the 2 PC 9V batteries per package as listed on their website at this specific location. They sold the 6 PC AA batteries for $1.25 as seen on their website, but not their 9V batteries. The manager with glasses did not honor the website's prices and stated "Retail stores don't go off their website's prices" which is incorrect. I explained to her that Walmart price matches their own website all the time and she argued that they don't because she "worked at Walmart". Again, incorrect and very argumentative. It's not a good image of Family Dollar to have managers spread misinformation as well as not honor their online prices let alone not be trained in how to fix this issue with simple problem solving skills. I know it's just $1.25 that I have to pay for an extra battery, which most likely won't last long, but it's the PRINCIPLE of doing business. Family Dollar's website is misleading and is false advertising some of their products which is considered practicing bad business along with having misinformed managers running their stores. I'll be sure to notify corporate so they can correct these issues to practice business in a better manner. Just a heads up to everyone else in Twentynine Palms. read more

Family dollar had been a pleasant place to shop until Tues afternoon 5/8/18. As I had done on previous occasions, stopped by to do a little shopping and needed the restroom. I usually go by in the mornings and encounter one of the nicest young ladies, not today. When I ask to use the restroom a female employee, red hair and glasses very rudely told me no public restroom. When I told her I had used their restroom several times before she cut her eye's and turned her back to me basically dismissing me. Had it not been for her rudeness and disrespectful manner I could have accepted the abrupt policy change. A manager later spoke to me but the damage had been done. Customer service is sorely lacking now days and she confirmed it. I won't be back and will be telling others. Take your hard earned money and spend it at Dollar General where they have phenomenal customer service. read more
