My dryer wasn't working well and kept giving me notifications that there was an air flow problem. I finally had time to call and have someone come to clean the vent. Family Heating and Air was able to get me in with next day service. Wow! I'm so glad that I called! Blocked dryer vents can cause house fires, and now I'm at lower risk because I've had the vent cleaned. I called our regular HVAC company and they don't do vent cleaning. I called another HVAC company that we've used and their price seemed high. I discovered Family on Google and their had exceptionally high ratings so I called. Not only were they super friendly and kind, they were able to get me in the very next day and at a very reasonable price. Clay, the service tech, was on time and super personable. He got right to work and had the vent cleaned in no time. And when he showed us what came out, I was mortified. I had a one gas furnace in one of my rental units that went out after 34 years of service. I hired these guys to come out and install a new system. The prices are very reasonable and the service from everyone at the office to the techs in the field were amazing. They are fast and efficient. They had a new unit installed in no time! Called Family heating and Cooling for trouble with a heat pump. Only for them to off a quote of more than $12000 for a new unit. Stating that one of the copper pipes had a small hole and had leaked out all of the coolant, they stated that it could be patched and might hold but there was no qurantee. With these being the second company I had give me an estimate, I call Affordable Heating and Cooling out of Greenfield IN, Not only were these guys prompt, estimates were free and they were able to get me into a new unit for $6700, Affordable is the best company by far, they are friendly, fast and extremely fair, clean up after wards and remove all the old equipment. You don't find companies that care about the consumer like these anymore. I highly recommend them. read more

I called today for service on my furnace and was scheduled for the last stop. He was on time and quickly diagnosed the issue. He told me up front how much it would cost and approximately how long it would take. As soon as I heard the fan kick back on, I could have done cartwheels! Heat!! Charged me what he said he would and my receipt was emailed to me prior to him leaving. I will have him come back to check out our AC prior to summer getting here. My AC was not cooling my house so I contacted Family Heating and Air. The Family Heating & Air technician determined the AC unit was leaking refridgerant so he loaded the system with refridgerant and dye to help find the leak. He said he would need to let the dye circulate in the system for a couple of weeks and then come back to inspect and find the leak. I was charged $640 for this service. I then waited 5 hours for my house to cool but there was no change in temperature. Next, I contacted Family Heating & Air to inform them my AC was still not cooling my house they then sent another technician the next day to asses the AC unit. This technician told me ALL of the $640 refridgerant had leaked out (this happened immediately after it was pumped in) & that I needed a $375 nitrogen test to find the leak (because the $640 dye test failed to yield any results). The technician found the leak and quoted me $3,000 to repair the leak or $5,100 to replace the Heat Pump. After spending over $1,000 just to have Family Heating & Air tell me what was wrong with my AC unit I decided it was time to hire a different HVAC vendor. I later discovered that the AC unit should have been given a pressure test to make sure it could hold the refridgerant BEFORE pumping $640 of refridgerant and dye into the system. In other words, the $640 was a complete waste of money becuase it all leaked out immediately. read more
