I've been coming here since I moved to MV about a year ago and have nothing but good things to say. Jenny and Chau are the nicest people and you can tell they really care about this place. The shop is clean and the staff are super nice. Darryl has been getting me cleaned up for a year and I always come out looking great. The price is right and they're efficient so you have more time to galavant around with your new cut! Cash is preferred which is fine because we all know how hard those credit card processing fees hurt small business. I've been coming to this place for a few years and the haircuts have been good every time except for this last hair cut a few days ago. When I asked for one inch off the back and sides the hairdresser instead cut two inches off, amongst several other issues. Additionally during the haircut the hairdresser would stand in front of the mirror which I think was to prevent me from seeing her mistakes. And when I asked her to stop cutting because it was so bad she decided to keep cutting. This has been my place for years and it's usually pretty good but this time was terrible. read more

I got my first haircut post-quarantine here at FamilyCuts. Well, I squeezed in a haircut before California shutdown happened again. The staff at FamilyCuts were very accommodating. I called in 30 minutes prior to make an appointment and they were more than happy to pencil me in. They practiced all the safety precautions for the COVID19 era. All seats were spaced out with plenty of distance in between, the staff wore masks, and they placed hand sanitizer at the front desk. They encourage customers to wear masks too. It was overall very clean inside. I don't know the name of the lady who cut my hair, but I was satisfied with my haircut from her. She took her time and was delicate. She even recommended lunch next door, so I ended up following her advice. They prefer cash, so luckily I had emergency cash. It's $25 for a haircut excluding tip. read more

I've been getting my hair cut here for 2+ years and can't recommend them highly enough. Daryl cuts my hair, he's highly skilled, efficient and I always walk away happy. Family Cuts is honestly one of the best kept secrets in Marin, excellent service and terrific prices. I should also mention for little ones, they really know they're doing. These people are lovely, I just loved them... sweet, polite, dear even at the end of the day on Saturday. My haircut was quite decent and it was reasonable, it's close by, and available. It's not fancy and they don't spend ages with you which is fine by me. All and all a great vibe. read more

Chau is great, but I just got a haircut from the latina woman and it was an odd experience. She cut my hair all over at the speed of light like she was trying to finish and get me out of there as fast as humanly possible. She was going so fast that I don't know if she was even trying to do a good job. My hair ended up being pretty uneven but luckily it's fluffy enough that it's hard to mess up badly. Didn't even shave the back of my neck. And my sideburns are uneven. Extremely disappointing for $30. read more

We live in SF, and we drive across the GG Bridge to bring my son here for a haircut. They are quick, have great service, and more importantly, they do a great job with my son's haircut. That's why we keep coming back. It helps that they are next to an awesome Puerto Rican restaurant (Sol Food), so we just make a day of it when my son needs a haircut. Affordable, very competent and friendly haircutters. Always busy (always a good sign). While masks most places are now "optional," the folks at Family Cuts are very willing to wear them when cutting hair - no fuss, they just do. After most of a year of getting my hair cut there, I can honestly say the cuts are equally as good as other places that charge considerably more. read more

I can't remember the woman's name who cut my hair-it was not the main guy Chau that everyone raves about. I saw that this salon also serviced adults' hair so I took a chance. I needed a trim, following the lines I already had, a long bob which was longer in front than back. Straight, no layers. She cut off about 2-3" off of my lob (which was below my shoulders) not the 1" I requested. She also put in some layers that made me look more like a mushroom. This is certainly not the look I was going for. She didn't seem to listen to me at all, nor did she look at the pictureS (plural) I showed her of asymmetrical long bobs. She was a nice lady, but I was horrified with the results. It took forever to grow out and become normal. I won't be back. read more

She took her time with my son, tried to comfort him when he was acting fussy. She did a great job and price is very reasonable compare to other places like panda room and purple monkey. Soooo, I just moved to the area and I wasn't down to drive 1hr+ to see my old stylist in the South Bay. I was in need of a haircut and decided to try something new that wouldn't cost me $1,000 (kidding, but really though). I can't lie, I was definitely SUPER hesitant at first because from the yelp page I felt as if the salon only catered to men's & boy's cuts however I can confidently say this salon has surpassed my expectations. I made the call and luckily Chau said he could fit me in the same day. And let me just say, Chau and everyone in the salon are very accommodating! They definitely made me feel great and relaxed. I forgot the name of the person who cut my hair, but he was awesome!! All I needed was a trim + some layers in the front, nothing fancy. They did an amazing job cutting my hair and made sure it was blended. Also, huge plus for not chopping off my hair super short. My hair feels healthy again and could easily be maintained. My cut cost only $30!!!! Same prices I was paying in the South Bay, so I'm really happy. They accept credit cards (which is great for someone like me who doesn't carry cash) but bring cash for tip!
