Well, those of you who read my reviews and know I travel via auto often; know I have a good memory of places with clean restrooms. Weird but true. That's initially why I went into DSW on Thursday. I also wasn't feeling well and needed to go to a couple stores. It was a joy to see Katrina again - and to meet Monica! They gave me advice (because I asked) about how to wear brown over-the-knee designer CLEARANCE boots and we talked... They are so welcoming and gracious. The previous week (when Chrissy assisted me) I was able to talk with the manager, Jess. The entire team is really hard-working and attentive.

The experience was horrible, and you are told that if you leave your clothing past the 60 day consigning period, they will stay out on the floor longer and give you more opportunity to sell. Otherwise, if you don't go back, you lose your rights to your own clothing or you have to make arrangements to pay per item to have them returned. Of course none of this information is on the paper contract you sign. All of this is a learn as you go or ask questions sort of business which is not ethical. The reality is that you are just giving them your clothes to have them donate or profit on their own. I prefer to control who I donate to, and I didn't appreciate the condescending tone and feeling bad about my quality clothing. Research more and stand up for yourself, as the bottom line is they will take your items and barely sell a thing, but there is no records for you to see. If you still want to give it a go, please select the option to have your items returned, so you know what actually does sell, and do not fall for the clothes will remain on the floor longer. The owner admitted that they pulled them early as she would be away for several weeks. Be honest to your consigners and just return the clothes to them after the 60 days is up, no questions asked.

My husband and I returned the next day. Honestly, it was totally different. People must have worked overnight to perform the amazing transformation. New merchandise was out and the women's department was beautifully organized. I managed to find the two tops I had left behind the day before along with a great pair of white pants. I would have been happy with store credit because of the genuine kindness, professionalism, and positivity that each teammate in the "front of store" provided. Samantha, Rachel, Luis, Tim you really helped me out. I was accompanied by my home health aide and my service dog. When I get anxious (just happens frequently in stores or appointments) I tend to talk a lot. They listened. And they were so polite!! Upon heading to the athletic shoe department, I had no idea how I was going to find the best shoe (frequent falls have been occurring so I had my walker (with seat) along. De Jaun and Nate were absolutely perfect professionals. Nate took over after the first half hour. He (and De Jaun) were so knowledgeable about support and insoles. Nate spent at least an hour with me saying "just one more pair." He helped with the lacing and seemed invested in making sure I did not select a shoe "just because."
