Staff is unprofessional with poor service they try to get over on people with the bills by telling you one price and then charging another when the bill comes. I asked specifically how long it would take for the baked fish before ordering and the server stated 10 minutes or so I asked if she was sure because the last time I was here a friend ordered it and it took over an hour and she said yes she's sure because it wasn't to many food orders and it ended up taking so long that I had to cancel my order an hour and 15 minutes later as I had to leave which is why I asked how long in the very beginning. Okay so back to the bill two of us asked for a water and the server brought four 8fl oz bottles and set them on the table we only opened and drunk the two we requested however on the bill they charged us for all four not only that when asked about the happy hour shots the server stated that Don rep was $9 however on the bill she charged the two who ordered them $19 per shot and when asked why it wasn't the happy hour price she said oh no that's the price until they reminded her that she said they were in fact $9 for happy hour so she stormed off and then came and low and behold the bill then said 2 Don happy hour $18 for both smh oh and still had the 2 extra bottles of water on the bill and tried to say the manager paid $5 for the two extra bottles of water but the bill amount never subtracted the $5. I love this place, the vibes for happy hour are amazing; so I was shocked when we stumbled upon Famous for brunch and the place was basically empty. Only 4 tables of patrons for brunch, which with this being one of the few bottomless brunch options i'm aware of in MD I would have thought it would have been packed especially with their always dope DJ. Brunch buffet is $45 served 11am to 3 and bottomless mimosas an additional $20 and you can get any flavor you want (mango, passionfruit, pineapple, orange, and strawberry). On the brunch buffet they had a huge selection, all well seasoned and hot including, jollof rice, greens, mac and cheese, sausage, bacon, waffles, yogurt, steak, fried fish, salmon, lemon pepper wings, bbq wings, and much more. One of the best brunch spreads i've ever seen in Maryland. I wonder if more people would patronize if they just had the price of $50 with bottomless mimosas included. Went to Famous for a Wednesday Happy Hour. I ordered the burger and fries. When I received the burger it was literally a slider sized burger on a full sized bun. I sent it back and reordered the Suya and a side of spinach. I was told they did not have any more spinach or any other vegetables. The suya although very flavorful was tougher than leather. This is a pretty low-key bar/lounge spot considering it's located in a small shopping center in the upper Marlboro area of Maryland. The location is a decent size with a bar in the center of the room, a DJ booth across from it, and couches and small table areas surrounding the space. Service is hit or miss some days really good other days a whole challenge based on the amount of customers on a given night. My best suggestion would be to sit at the bar to avoid that. As for the food and drinks happy hour there runs from 4-8pm with a variety of discounted drinks and premium shots for as low as $5. Food options range from wings with flavors like jerk, old bay, and BBQ to suya starting around $10. The wings are pretty solid, decently sized not like those party wings similar type lounges serve for the same price and the drinks are fairly decent depending on what you order. There's also different DJ's that spin a variety of hip hop and r&b music so all in all not a bad spot to pop into for an after work drink or to gather a group of friends for a bday celebration. The place gives off hookah lounge vibes but currently that isn't a service offered so hopefully that's something in the works. read more

This lounge is located in a suburban area. It's an open space that's surrounded with couches and tables to lounge at. They also offer an outside lounging area. I really love the vibe here. I went there on a Monday - which was karaoke night. We had a really great time. The bartender and the other women that worked there was super nice to us. We tried the suya appetizer and it was pretty good - a bit tough but overall super flavorful and delicious. Even though the drinks were good, I wasn't really a fan of the plastic cups they use for alcoholic beverages. They also kept putting ice in my lemon drop martini, which I also didn't really like. Famous lounge is a nice spot overall. I like the location, sometimes you don't feel like going all the way to dc for a club or lounge. I've been on Friday night and a Saturday night. Friday had the larger crowd. Both times I'd say 7/10. The drinks are okay just super overpriced in my opinion. You're not at a restaurant you're at a lounge. It already cost money to get inside. The drinks should be reasonable. You barely can get a drink most times because the bar setup is central. The crowd surrounds the bar. You might end up wearing your drink, considering how many times it get knocked out your hand lmao. Music was good but both times I heard the same exact set. The DJ should practice more on song transitions, consistency and playing hits. I have only had mozzarella sticks, fried fish and fries so far. It's good. Does what it needs too. Went on Wednesday and I wasn't allowed in because I had a designer hoodie on. Explained to the owner/manager Kevin that I wasn't aware of the NEW dress code that stated no hoodies or athletic wear. After debating if I really wanted to take my hoodie to visit a club in upper Marlboro on a Wednesday I said ok the rules are the rules. Changed into a tee shirt and looked more athletic then with the hoodie but i digress. I get inside and I saw nothing but ATHLETIC WEAR and HOODIES. I felt like I was on Punked. I stopped counting at 5 hoodies and countless sweat shirts, sneakers etc. I was offended that they lead me to believe that they were actually enforcing a dress code. So after that and paying $30 dollars for a glass of wine and a vodka cranberry and waiting 45 minutes for my food, needless to say I'll NEVER go back. The worst $75 spent ever!! This will be my first time leaving a review. I have had several issues with service at this lounge. From a waitress being tipped in cash. Then the waitress took it upon herself to tip herself again. On my receipt and I realized it after the charges went thru. Don't get me wrong the place itself is a nice spot ambiance wise. Last night compelled me to really write a review because enough is enough. I went to the establishment yesterday. I was handed a menu from the bartender. Which had happy hour on it from 4-8pm. Later we get the bill and was charged $14.99 each for a drink that wassup suppose to be $7.99. Total bill coming up to $75 when it should've been $40. I think ask the bartender about. She openly admits this is a problem and then admits she didn't explain properly about the menu. So apparently these are the only menus they have. So you're false advertising happy hour/prices. Then waiting for people to either not notice it until its too late. When you do notice it when the bill comes. They make it a YOU problem not a THEM problem. She then tells me the manager/owners know its a problem. So that means you don't care about your customers. So if this is how you do business its time that people know. read more

A young man sadly died at this establishment last week from a stab wound and people are still continuing patron this place just to have big brawls in the parking lot (this week). Not to mention the food and drinks are overpriced, the service is not adequate (waitresses are rude and care more about they appearance then tips apparently), and security doesn't care about the safety of young drivers stumbling out the doors drunk to their cars smh. We went here today for a silent party. It has a nice setup and it's pretty spacious inside. I can't speak for all the staff, but the two people (waitress and manager) that I encountered were rude. To start, the waitress stated that I was "being difficult" because I asked if it was possible for the wings to come in all flat (they weren't) so I asked if they could be cooked extra crispy, and she said I'll just tell them well done. It took awhile for the food to come out just for it to be a lukewarm temperature. The mozzarella sticks were good. The fries tasted like grease. My wings were fine, but my sister bit into a wing that smelled and tasted sour/spoiled. The waitress got the manager, who came over to say "y'all need me?" Not really, but since you're here, this chicken smells sour. She quickly smells the platter but says she didn't smell anything wrong and proceeds to ask if we wanted something else, or did we want to close the tab. We closed the tab because at that point I didn't want anything else from there . Overall the party was a fun experience, but Famous can definitely improve their customer service. read more

The service here is horrible. I think the nicest people there are the security guards who checked my I.D and the few other customers i briefly spoke to. The bartenders are snooty and disrespectful. This establishment has Restaurant and Lounge in the title, but it is a club at night time. The music is extremely loud, and the posted hours are not followed. Instead of 2:00am, sometimes at around 3:30am the club is just closing and arguments happen outside of it. There is now a police unit parked outside of it at night, but the loudness continues.
