I would rate this a 0 if I could live here, and I will never return. I had a disappointing and upsetting experience with the bartender, Issac, who ignored me and refused to serve me a drink. After I raised my concerns with the manager--who was another Black woman and tried to address the issue--Issac falsely claimed that I had cursed at him, which was untrue. As a Black woman, I felt that Issac was empowered to shut me down and dismiss my presence, perpetuating a pattern where Black women are not supported or acknowledged. Despite the manager's efforts, the lack of accountability and the discriminatory treatment I experienced made me feel unwelcome. I will not be returning to this establishment. Events and this place don't go together. Having never been here and wanting to try, we saw the hours and knew if we came to an event, we'd be able to grab dinner before. For a foodie this is perfect! Oooh were we wrong. Plans failed! This restaurant is part of Oak Creek golf course in a residential area, super convenient if you're a resident! Now, for guest, parking is ample if there is no event going on. The venue is pretty and well kept. Restrooms very tidy. The staff are so sweet but the logic behind management is off. You'd think if an event was happening you'd plan for folks to come early to eat dinner. A perfect opportunity that was missed by the choice to close early only to reopen. Odd. Having an event here was pretty unorganized. They had a coffee table that I don't believe was part of the venue possibly a vendor. Most definitely would come try to dine in if I was back in the area. My first time at the Grove was probably over 10yrs ago. I don't live in Oak Creek but I lived in the community adjacent to it for over 15yrs. That said, I've been many times and I cannot believe I've never dropped a review. The Grove is located inside of the Oak Creek Golf Club House. The Grove routinely have events like this past Thursday, when one of my favorite local bands performed "Let It Flow Band". To the rear is enough room for a decent sized crowd, not too big and not too small. I'd say about 150 people with about 20 prepaid tables, and the rest of the folks brought their folding chairs. The restaurant was open for business, serving from a limited menu. I will say, the honey old bay wings, chicken nachos and dynamite shrimp were freaking delicious. They even had a nice coffee station set up which came in handy once sunset hit and it got a little chilly out. Checking in was clunky to say the least, luckily we were one of the first ones in because their system was WHACK!! lol. I've been to this local biz a few times. I enjoyed it more last year when the brunch had various options but they've changed (limited the menu) since reopening. Sundays only, $24 AYCE; waffles, eggs, turkey sausage, pork links, catfish, nuggets, chicken strips, and collard greens. Mimosa by the glass is $12; we passed on that. But if you're looking for a quiet brunch option to take, maybe your grandparents, auntie or uncles (older crowd would enjoy) this will be a great place. For Easter brunch, I ventured in to the grove. It's free parking and a buffet with a carving station, greens, bacon . Sausage, shrimp and grits, Waffles, home fries. Catfish , etc. There is a dessert station, with fruit and chocolate fondue tower. We had pineapple mimosas. It's a family oriented venue and pretty standard brunch. The menu itself bothered me & my friend because the type font was so small, we had to use flashlights or get into light to read it. Additionally, the service wasn't the best. We didn't even know that our food was done until we had to ask & we waited for a long time. I ordered a catfish sandwich, which was supposedly "Caribbean" inspired. The "jerk" sauce that came with it just tasted like vinegarette. Very overpriced for what I got. My friend ordered the quesadillia & wasn't impressed as well. The grove is a cute little hidden gem ! I've NEVER tasted Mac and cheese this good... it's almost like an Italian take on mac & cheese. And the chicken has the perfect amount of crispy and seasoning to it. We went during a rainy cold day, but I feel like if it was warm and nice outside it would've been perfect to sit outside and enjoy the weather while eating. Servers were friendly and portions were large, but it's Buffet style so you can try some thing and get more if you really enjoy it! They have everything you need to make a perfect chill brunch, mimosas, delicious, coffee, eggs, bacon, mac & cheese, fried chicken, collard greens. And I love that they didn't put pork in the greens. My family held a graduation brunch here in the private room with outdoor access. It was nice to have a private area, however the general population area didn't look too busy. The food was good - we had assorted pastries, fried chicken, greens (heard they were good), bacon, sausage, eggs, waffles, shrimp and grits (I don't eat but heard they were good also), Mac & Cheese and fried potatoes. Overall, the food was good. The special event coordinator, Briana was amazing. She was on top of everything and helped us get everything settled just how we liked it. Also, I loved their outdoor covered seating area. The bathrooms were very clean as well. Some friends and I had brunch here. It was a reasonably priced buffet. The buffet consisted of shrimp and grits; scrambled eggs, hash browns, turkey sausage, pork bacon, greens, and fried chicken. There is also a cold food station with fresh fruit, danishes, and churros. They also have self serve coffee, tea, and juices. No one in my group ordered any alcoholic beverages however several other table enjoyed mimosas. I believe the cost was around $34 which I found to be extremely reasonable. The manager came over to check in on us to see if we were okay. We also had the opportunity to meet the chef. Everyone was very friendly. Do NOT come here. There has been change in management, and it was NOT for the better. We have been here in the past for the buffet, which included custom omelets, plenty of breakfast and brunch foods. And the location is nice, relaxing. Today the only food was breakfast. Part way through our meal they removed the sausage/potatoes tray. And apparently they ran out of fish even before we got there, and did not make any more. There was a fruit salad and salad station, which is what we all ate. But for the price, there are much better places in the area. The service was good, our server was very nice. Sundays are for brunch! Had reservations for 11 a.m. at The Grove. Beautiful location with ample parking. They open at 11 a.m. so when we entered there was only 1 or 2 tables occupied. Spacious, clean interior with outdoor seating with table firepits. Breakfast buffet had eggs, shrimp and grits, bacon, greens, macaroni and cheese,fried chicken, greens, waffles, fresh fruit, pastries, tea, coffee, and orange juice. There is a drink menu available as well. Friendly staff. Food was good, just the chicken was dry and the macaroni and cheese was bland. The waffle was delicious and served with warm syrup. My girl, Nacy is the best bartender ever - she remembers your food/drink selections. Her conversations are always intimate, making you feel like a old friend. I finished 18 holes of golf right at noon. I skipped breakfast, and was starving... I was in my car about to head to the airport, and thought "I'll just grab a quick bite here". Thank God I didn't check yelp first... This place was great! I ordered the Cheeseburger and Fries. Burger was really big and cooked perfectly... The vegetables were fresh, and the fries tasted excellent.... Full disclosure, I haven't eaten red meat in a long time, so it was going to taste good regardless... But it was REALLY good. I had an Iced Tea which was never left empty. I sat at a high top in the bar and the bartender was extremely attentive... As a matter of a fact, everyone was. Just about the only person who didn't stop to check on my meal was the course superintendent; and I'm pretty sure he would have if he wasn't busy collecting all the golf balls I donated to his course.. After eating my burger like I'd never seen food before, I slowed down and enjoyed my fries while reading all of the 1 star reviews about this place. Two things were clear... 1, people don't have a good enough understanding of the elements of a star system. 2, this place has obviously come a long way, and improved immensely... Really surprised to see some of the reviews here. I've been to The Grove three times for brunch (twice with girlfriends and once with my in-laws) and have thoroughly enjoyed the experience. During brunch, the food is served on a buffet and they have a bottomless option (champagne + mixers of your choosing - think raspberry, peach, o.j., etc). Food on the buffet was solid. The woman running the omelet was resistant to making egg white omelets for some reason - I think that would be my one ding for the experience. But otherwise, I really liked it. Looking forward to going back over the summer and sitting outside on the scenic terrace (I think they have heat lamps outside if you want to go out when the weather's cooler, too). Definitely try it for yourself and make your own call on this place. I recommend it. read more

The Shrimp is cooked to Perfection and yes you can definitely mess up shrimp!! I went to the restaurant on Sunday for brunch. My omelette was specially made by the chef who has a great resume. The desserts where special too. Also I had a beautiful Bloody Mary that was to die for. It was spiced with horseradish. My wait staff forgot about us and we had to track him down. He offered to pay for our brunch the next time. I will hold him to his promise. I guess he was busy with some large parties. My only suggestion is that they need more wait staff to handle the Sunday brunch crowd overall I was pleased with the food and environment. Nice place on a golf course. This restaurant has been open for several years but it is still a mystery to many of those who don't live in the Oak Creek complex or play golf there. That certainly fits, as when you visit the restaurant as a non-regular, you feel like a non-regular. The people are friendly but the service still loses a star or two - the buffet held food that was good at one point, but over a 90 minute visit, several food items weren't replenished. Genarally, it just feels as if there is no real sense of urgency here. Unfortunately, a vegetarian omelet came with ham on it (even if the pig was a vegetarian, I don't think that counts) and the limited menu means that you might not find what you need. However, this spot has scenic views, it feels new, and it might be a perfect spot for a hangout after a golf outing on the adjoining course. The staff is friendly and they have live bands some nights, so if you are here already, you might as well come through. If you are elsewhere, I would consider your other options first. read more

I really want to like this place. I have tried on at least three occasions. But, I have never had an experience here that was anything more than mediocre. This particular visit was no exception, unfortunately. I decided to drop in with my mother for the fish fry night. The advertised menu sounded pleasing. Fried fish, fried shrimp, hush puppies, macaroni and cheese, seafood pasta, mahi mahi, seasoned rice, cheddar bay biscuits, collard greens, mussels and a dessert table. I passed on the rice. The mahi mahi was dry and under seasoned. The macaroni and cheese was delicious. The seafood pasta was good and had the potential to be great, if only it were hot. The biscuits were over cooked and rubbery. The shrimp was tasty while the fried catfish appeared more like catfish nuggets based on the serving I was rationed. Yes, the meal was buffet style however, attendants were (only) dishing out the fried shrimp and fried catfish. Hence, my use of the word rationed. The collard greens were grossly over salted. I am of the mind someone accidentally dropped the salt into this dish. I can't imagine that excess of sodium was intentional. The hush puppies were tough and dry. Furthermore, my server was either very forgetful, overworked, or just indifferent towards my side of the dining area because my table and the one next to mine went unattended to for most of the night. I've been a patron of this restaurant for 2+ years. I really want to give it more stars, but the experience is always inconsistent from one visit to the next. I should also share that I've only done carry out at The Grove and I have never dined in the restaurant. Here's my rationale for the rating: - One star for convenience since the restaurant is within walking distance from from my house. - Second star for tasty food (always...I've never had anything that wasn't delicious) I've taken away 3 stars for: (1) Having to wait a really long time past quoted wait time. At times upwards of 30 minutes extra minutes. But one time they did offer me a cocktail while I waited. (2) Inconsistent portion sizes (sometimes the kids mini corn dog meal comes with 15-20 corn dogs. Sometimes it's more like 8-10. Sometime you get a full square of Mac & cheese, sometimes it's only 1/2 of a square cut into a triangle. Sometimes the kids chicken fingers comes with 6, other times it's 3 or 4. I could go on, but you get the gist. (3) Getting the wrong item (eg...catfish sandwich instead of the catfish entree) (4) They are frequently out of items that are on the menu. Every time I call they are out of at least one item that I want. I once called every week for a month to get the Backyard BBQ entree and each time they told me they were all out. I'm Not convinced they ever had it, but it sure did look good on the menu. (5) Missing items from the order - Always check your bag before you leave. 70% of the time, there's been an item missing. read more

Our family booked The Grove for Mothers Day Brunch in May. For their Sunday brunch buffet options such as chicken, ravioli, potatoes, hash browns, pie, roast beef, omlets and waffles were served. Our family raved about the horseradish mashed potatoes, but that was it. The food was okay, nothing special. I went back for seconds on the ravioli, but it could have used a bit more sauce. Is dry ravioli a thing? Much of what is listed for Sunday Brunch on their website was not available on that date. Instead they had French toast sticks and the aforementioned menu items. Family friendly, however there were some odd food choices, at large, for an upper scale experience. The only desserts were apple and cherry pie, which was pre-sliced creating a bit of a mess at the buffet. The buffet was nice, but looked like it could use a little more TLC due to the number of guests frequenting. It may be worth calling ahead and verifying exact menu items for brunch prior to your visit. The Grove, restaurant itself, is located in a very impressive, new golf resort with houses across the way.
