This is a small restaurant in Chinatown. Unassuming from the outside and modern inside. Colorful abstract paintings adorn the walls surrounding about a dozen tables. The service is good and they have a decent menu. I ordered the dumplings in honor of Chinese New Year and they did not disappoint me. The pork inside was lean and tender. They were plenty hot and came with a bunch sprouts, some shredded carrots, sweet vinegar, and plum sauce. I loved them. For my main dish, I ordered the Spicy Wor Wonton Soup. It was hot and spicy. The broth was super thick, more like a gravy. The wontons were buried on the bottom below mostly veggies. There was very little meat in the soup and the flavor was not what I expect in a Wor Wonton. Hubby flat out hated it. I ate half of mine because it wasn't bad, it just wasn't what I was hoping for. If I go back, I'll order a noodle dish instead. They looked very good.

We had to decide amongst below average Yelp and google ratings for all surrounding restaurants and cafes. There wasn't a great many options. The food is not good here. Apparently understaffed and whatever problems are happening internally here, it's very obvious and apparent to customers. Our server was very kind and did everything perfect (5 stars). The only thing delicious here was our sweet and sour soup and wonton soup.

I really wanted to like this place, it's close to where I live and everyone's loves delicious Chinese food... Unfortunately this place fell short of me wanting to return. Service was lovely, place was clean and the decor was eclectic but lovely. Down to the food... I ordered the "choose your 3 dishes dinner" combo and it was very underwhelming. My chooses were; Cashew chicken, deep fried prawns and chicken chow mein. The cashew chicken was yummy, unfortunately the rest was not. The prawns were extremely greasy and a few drops of grease came out when I picked one up, the chow mein was the worst I've ever had... Very dehydrated noodles (almost think they were leftover from the day before) and very very chewy. For me, I won't go back. $34 total for a combo, beer and a $4 tip.

I was reading reviews and most were positive, 1 was nasty but we were getting HANGRY! We were greeted and told to sit wherever we wanted. The sign outside said "BEST WOR WONTON SOUP" so I went for it and got the shrimp variety. My husband got a combo of pork fried rice, fried shrimp and cashew chicken. Everything was AMAZING! They didn't lie, this was the best soup I had ever had, a full meal of every vegetable you could think of, meat, and peppery shrimp wontons. The broth was robust and made with love. We left feeling satisfied and wishing that we had this level of food when we returned home.

Oh hell yes. Everything about our dinner here was delicious, and fantastic! We got take out (obviously, it's COVID time) and it was ready super fast, and the food was hot, fresh and probably the best Chinese food we've had in a long time! My wife got the chicken chow mein and the flavours were subtle but yummy, and noodles were perfectly cooked. I had the Shanghai noods with vegetables - the veggies were SO GOOD and so fresh, noodles were perfectly cooked and there was exactly the right amount of sauce which was so flavourful. Will 100% be back again and will suggest it to anyone!

FOOD Stir-Fried Dried Green Beans ($19.95) The winner is this category would be Tropical Island Restaurant on Shelbourne; however, The Cozy Place offering would be close behind it. Decent with some crunch still; you can get it spicy or not. Ma Po Tofu ($19.95) You can order it meatless or minced pork; it's somewhat authentic. It does have some heat to it (for those sensitive to spice); however, it's pretty solid! === 3. English was fluently spoken by the lady working the front and the man cooking the dishes behind her. === 4. ENVIRONMENT It's a long, narrow restaurant - your group of 6, maybe 8 could fit at one table in the front. For everyone else, you're accommodated in tables of 2's or 4's along the wall. If bringing a wheelchair or baby stroller, I would stick to the table in the front. Parking is all metered on the street - note that the city has their parking enforcement office basically across the way working until 8pm, so put payment into the meters upfront even if you're coming by to do a quick pickup!

Instead, we decided to stay and enjoy a meal. We started with hot tea and soup. The soup was definitely the highlight of the meal--flavorful, comforting, and served nice and hot. For our entrees, we ordered the lo mein and a fried rice combo platter. The lo mein was just okay and didn't really stand out, but the fried rice combo platter was excellent and full of flavor. We thoroughly enjoyed that dish. The restaurant itself felt a little tight in terms of seating space, but the atmosphere was still pleasant. Despite not getting to try the bakery items we came for, we had a good time, enjoyed our meal, and left satisfied. We'll definitely come back earlier next time to try some of those bakery specialties before they sell out! Service was great tho.. very cheerful

The roasted pork belly and char siu was soooo good, my parents immediately did a U-turn to get another plate. I went on a Wednesday morning, and the line was out the door with locals. Already a great sign! Going in, you can smell the fragrant char siu marinate and smoky BBQ. They cut the meats right in front of you, so it's piping hot once the food is handed to you. The char siu was a little too sweet for my taste, but the marinate was still pleasant tasting. The pork belly was perfection, the skin was light and crispy.

SERVICE We've never dined in; only gotten takeout - but the service has always been good. A large fish tank at the front (likely for Feng Sui purposes) offers some distraction for younger kids. Those with wheelchairs and baby strollers should have not challenges here.
