Don't get your cut from the lady in the second chair on the left side. Danny is usually a great businessman I just feel today was wrong on all levels. I had to pay twice to get my son's cut fixed. I feel the fix should have been on the owner to correct being he is the person that runs the business. Beside this incident and how it was handled it a good shop. Zero stars... what was I thinking?! Wanted layers and got this ugly and uneven hair cut. Hahaha. Forgot this lady's name but she has long and fuzzy hair. This place is great first and foremost for ASIAN HAIR. Not all barbers can cut Asian hair correctly. This is not an opinion this is fact and if you are Asian you know what I am talking about ne? Anyway used to go here over 10 years ago then moved away. Walked in recently and but Denny and his sister not only remembered me but remembered how to cut my hair even thought it was longer. This place is just like the floor tile - black and white. You want a good, fast hair cut, you will get just that without no fuss. I love this place, been going here 10 years and will never leave unless I move out of Fresno county, and then might still drive in anyway. This place has its merits as well as flaws. As you walk in you usually have to wait awhile which is fine but can be gruesome when they're really busy. Once seated in the barber chair u can expected to be leaving in 15 mins max. I notice that some of the workers don't speak English which is fine. I've had two different ladies and the one of the guys cut my hair. Various occasions they can have attitude or just ignore what customers are asking for. The place is well lit and adequately clean and conveniently located. The cuts are really fast and very good depending on who services you. I once vowed to never come back but here I am for the nominal price and the speed of the service which is sometimes more important then anything else. read more

This review is based on my experience with an employee. The employee was an older asian man. When discussing the length of cut I wanted on top of my hair, I told him that I wanted about an inch length left on top. He obviously had no clue what an "inch" was as I gestures and he just gave me a blank stare. It was off to a bad start when I realized he could barely speak English. How am I supposed to get what I want when the guy cutting my hair doesn't understand what I'm saying? -1 star I kept it simple for his sake, Cause I'm a nice guy. Towards the end of my haircut, I had a change of mind on the length of my hair on the sides, then the guy starts complaining, and at one point he tells me "that's too much work". Really? Simply changing the head on your clippers and going around my head is too much work? I felt like reminding him it's his job to cut hair, but I realized what's the point if he doesn't even understand English. -1 star Later he had the nerve to charge me an extra for my request. -1star For the rest of the session he was mumbling in his own language, who knows what, and it really put me in a bad mood for the rest of the 3 minutes it took him to change my side length. This employee has obviously never heard of good customer service in what ever language he speaks. -1 star It makes me question the people who hired this guy. From the looks of it , the place is family owned and if you complain they'll probably just ignore you. If they don't care about who they hire, then they don't care about their customers satisfaction. -1 star If I could give my experience a 0/5 I would. My hair stylist was DER, she does outstanding haircuts. She cuts my hair the way I describe; however if it doesn't sound right she will explain why. I have tried several walk-in places but noticed unevenness. DER is usually there 9am to 8pm daily except Tuesday. Call first to confirm her availability. Aside from that, the location is in the same shopping center w Winco in Clovis. Salon been there for years, it's interior is worn (could use new chairs), but prices is very affordable. I've been coming to Fancy Cut since they first opened. First, for the convenience, as they are right by my job. But I'll even take the long drive across town to come here, because I know they know how to cut, well mostly. But I'll get to that. If you've never been here before, then it's hard to say who to stay away from, but usually they are in the same row as the register, way in the back. Everyone else is a long timer, and to be honest, they all cut about the same. The only one who cuts noticeably different is Danny, the owner behind the register. He is so rough. But it's because he's trying to go fast. Sometimes that's desired. You'll accept a little discomfort to get in and out quick. Other times, maybe not so much. He also charges for everything. The others normally don't charge extra for a razor edge, even though they can. I can usually get in and out in about 30 min, but your results may vary. But as a rule of thumb, don't come in before a holiday or first day of school, because there is guaranteed to be a line. Which brings me to my next thing. They keep track of everyone coming in by memory. So you may not be seen in the order in which you arrived. I've been known to jump a few spots at times, and get skipped on others. You just have to take the good with the bad if you're gonna go on a busy day. read more

I have been going here for years...throughout the years I can tell everyone in this shop has cut my hair. I used to have Danny cut my hair all the time until one day I was not satisfied with his work so I told him and he acted so unprofessional and very rough with the Clippers and comb. So now I have anyone but him cut my hair. It just seems like everyone is always in a rush no one takes their time anymore. I wish I could put zero stars but I can't. This was the second time I have ever gone to a barber in my 23 years alive and I absolutely regret it. Normally my dad cuts my hair and shapes my beard but since I am away from home I had go to a barber shop. So I went to fancy cuts. I went their because I am not from this area and I was shopping at winco and I passed by this place. Here's why I am NOT a happy customer. I went in just to get my beard edged up because I am not so good at doing it by myself. I saw Denny and told him I don't want a hair cut, I just want my beard edged up. Big mistake. He took like 3 minutes and left my beard crooked and left uncut hairs randomly all over. I came home and decided to just cut it all off and start over. I will never step foot in "Fancy cut" (More like crappy cut) ever again. Took my ten dollars and gave did a crappy job. P.S. I have received poor service from restaurants and different places and I never write reviews but Denny did such a bad job I had to write this. Don't even get me started with this place. My hair is my baby so going in and asking for an inch off cut but having them cut over 6 inches left me depressed.
