Chicken soup with nice & big chunks of chicken!

I've been passing this place for the last 13 years! Finally stopped in & picked up a few goodies!!! Not pictured is the Brown Stew Chicken & their Mac & Cheese pie!! It was too YUMMY & there was no pausing on first bite!!! The salt fish patty did not disappoint with TONS of "bacalao" for your tastebuds' pleasure! The chicken soup was hearty & well priced for the size at $7! Their rum cake is nice & moist! Cannot wait to come back and try all the other tons of goodies in their menu and display!!! Very, very fresh & extremely friendly service.

While visiting my cousin and after the Dolphins game on 4 Nov 18, she wanted to take me to this Caribbean bakery.. This spot is very authentic! I got (2) GinsingUp drinks I got 1 veggie patty, which was very good! It was filled with spinach and other seasonings.. You can tell it was homemade.. The crust was nice and buttery.. I got 1 salt fish patty that I saved and put in the fridge until 5 Nov 18.. To my surprise, when I got up and warmed it up for around 45 sec... It came out nice and buttery like the veggie the day before.. I was surprised because when you reheat fried food it never comes out food! Not the patties here, very good the next day! Food was so good, on the way back to Key West in the AM on 5 Nov 18, we stopped in again and got 2 more salt fish patties.. I would have gotten 3 total: 2- Saltfish 1- Veggie But they didn't have any veggie ones made yet, granted it was right when they opened up around 0930ish.. They also have other freshly baked Caribbean pastries, breads, and hot food! When I'm back in the area, I will be back..

We found this little gem because of Hurricane Irma? Yep, this location was a donation dropped off center and I'm so glad to have found them. Their friendly and attentive staff had let us know that were was some Johnny cakes almost ready. We were especially ok with waiting for them and Man oh man I'm so glad we did. We ordered a curry chicken dinner with rice and peas, salad and plantains, some beef and saltfish patties, chicken soup and a guava and coconut tarte. I regretted not taking a pic of the curry and patties before the family inhaled it all but I managed to grab a shot of my soup. The flavors were amazing and my soup was filled to capacity with my favorite ......Island style dumplings. Need I say more? Not really much more to say other than you NEEDing to get in your car and hit em up quick. Tell CJ the yelp girl sent ya to Fancy Loaf.

They have the best Caribbean food and great customer service. I always come visit here when I to Miami to visit my family. Stock up on bread and patties and freeze them for later. I love this place, they have everything I want. Also the store has been revamped and looks great on the inside. Big ups for my St. Kitts people.

First time checking out the fancy loaf, the food is delicious! The people who work there are so friendly! Definitely would recommend!!

The flavors were really hittin--not salty but definitely not lacking in flavor and complexity. So delicious The only criticism I would have from what I ordered is that the rice was ever so slightly undercooked which made it a bit dry. Other than that, everything was great. There's not really a server--you order and they text you when it's ready. Then you come pick it up and go to your table. But the cashier lady was very nice and helped me decide what to get.

If you're looking for something unique to try at the Citadel, Manjay is worth a shot. They serve Haitian cuisine. Portions were generous and in general, the food was kind of heavy. Many of the components I believe were made to order, so there was a short wait. Here's what my wife and I ordered: Appetizer: * Caribbean Conch Fritters ($14) - Manjay pikliz, honey mustard remoulade These were big and tasty. Six pieces, like giant hush puppies with conch inside. The plate came with pikliz in the center. Pikliz is like the Haitian version of coleslaw, made with cabbage, carrots, onions, and peppers. Manjay's version was spicy and yummy. Bowls, each with 2 sides and 1 sauce: * Honey Jerk Chicken Bowl ($18) - breaded and tossed in Manjay's homemade honey jerk sauce; with red beans rice and sweet plantains and scotch bonnet mango aioli * From Haiti with Love (Griyo) ($18) - Deep-fried Kreyol-style slow-braised pork; with banan payzay and toofay Both the chicken and pork were very good and flavorful. The pork was served bone-in. The rice and beans and sweet plantains were comforting and addictive. The scotch bonnet mango aioli was spicy. Banan payzay are Haitian pressed plantains. These were savory and starchy. The toofay ("legume") was good too. It's a hearty vegetable stew, essentially Haitian ratatouille. Our cashier was Roniqua and she was nice. During our visit, I think Manjay had the longest line (a good sign). After walking around, looking at the other food court options and seeing Manjay's high rating on Yelp, we were sold on Manjay. We dined in so we got real plates and silverware. We actually took everything up to the rooftop bar and ate up there. Our trays were bussed by the staff on the roof. Along with this location at the Citadel food court in Little River (just north of Little Haiti), Manjay has a casual strip location near the Miami airport in Doral. This Citadel location is the original; it opened in February 2019. The Doral location opened in 2024.

The vibe of the space feels like they brought in the murals of wynwood to their interior design. The music selection was rap hit after rap hit, loved. We sat at the bar. Our server was Marcus. He was so helpful and attentive. Gave us his menu recommendations, which we followed suit. We ordered the duck dumplings and the sweet potato croquettes from the HH menu. From the regular menu, we ordered the bbq toro and the oxtail udon. The duck dumplings had a rich au jus, great. Our favorite app was the sweet potato croquette. Slightly sweet, a satisfying crunch, but soft in the center with tender brisket. The white bbq sauce and parm gave it a nice smoky nuttiness. Ordered another round, they were so good! The bbq toro had an amazing smokey flavor and a nice citrusy butter as the sauce. The cut was perfect. The oxtail udon was really hearty, and by far the best dish we had (though all the dishes were seriously incredible). It comes with a cured egg yolk, which they mix for you tableside. There was a good amount of oxtail in the dish and the udon sauce - bottle it for me please and thank youuu.

Sometimes less is more. I booked brunch for the Sunday after Valentine's Day. The reservation was confirmed, but then I found out they don't even open until 5 PM that day. How does a brunch reservation get confirmed for a time when the restaurant isn't open? I decided to give it another try this weekend and went at 5 PM to sit at the bar. The hostess told me there was a "Hungry Post" event happening. I asked about the price and she said it was $100 per person. Okay, fine -- but when I asked what the event included or what it was about, she seemed unsure and said it was "just a party" and that you just go in. No explanation of what was included, no specials, nothing. Charging $100 per person just to attend a "party" with no clear details feels odd and poorly communicated. I genuinely want this place to succeed because the food and drinks are great -- I just wish they would focus on that and improve communication and organization instead of trying so hard to be trendy.

Our waitress, Marcia from Venezuela, was friendly and enthusiastic about the menu and making sure our evening was fun. We started with mojitos and a Margo-no-rita. Sugar cane and mint leaves spill out of the top of the mojitos. My wife said she didn't miss the alcohol in the Rita. We moved on to ham croquettes and empanadas. The croquettes are flavor bombs with the lime salt sending them to the next level. The empanadas are good and full of meat filling. We had 4 different entrees and shared them. My smoked pork was a tad dry but the Smokey presentation offset the texture. We did have to move the smoker off the table as it got eye irritating. I would have also liked a plate to move everything to after the wow factor. (I should have asked for one). My wife's fried fish is served whole in chunky bites. Flavored well it was great on its own. She thought the chili oil sauce had an Asian flare which felt off theme. Our friends dishes were the flank steak (good size and flavor) which was cooked to his required doneness, and the Marabu Charcoal pork. Both dishes were delicious with their sauces. Marcia suggested a fiery sauce if we liked heat. We told her to bring it and it did not disappoint. Heat at all levels left a good lingering heat for minutes. It was good with everything. We skipped dessert as we were full and chose to window shop in the mall to walk off a full belly. Highly recommend, ask for Marcia and we will be back.
