Excellent service and wonderful tasting food. The restaurant is very unique - looks like an old house. Inside was clean and the spacing between tables provided ample room for my wife and I. We celebrated our 31st anniversary. They made up the table quickly with streamers and close to the fireplace. We ordered the clam chowder and French onion soup. Both came out piping hot and were very tasty. They also gave us a basket of bread and butter and a small plate of kalamata olives. I had the NY steak and my wife had the Capri chicken. The steak was cooked on a fire grill in the middle of the restaurant. It came out perfectly cooked medium rare, with veggies. The chicken was also very tasty. They surprised us with a complementary desert. Total = $148 (including tip). This place is a bit pricy but certainly worth visiting at least once.

The restaurant looks very rundown from outside but once inside, it's a nice place. The food is good and the service is exceptional. The best part is that they have Soufflé and that's hard to find in Monterey area.

We chose this restaurant because it had a good rating and enough reviews. It presents itself as somewhat pretentious. Inside, the atmosphere and coziness look nice. The service itself is organized well. But for this kind of pretentious presentation, the plates and silverware were not polished, with residue from dried water. I ordered duck medium-well, they brought it medium rare. The manager clearly noticed my surprise and offered to cook it more. I think that was a bad idea. The duck tasted as if it had been reheated on the second day. On top of that, it was completely drowned in a sauce that ruined the flavor. The side dish was obviously frozen, packaged vegetables and mashed potatoes with cheese. All of this together created a horrible composition. And even separately, everything tasted bad. My wife simply refused to say or write anything about the osso buco she ordered. What I liked: the bread was good, the olives were good, the orange in the duck they still managed to ruin. The service was good and friendly. What I didn't like: unpolished silverware with hard-water marks. Bottled beer only. I would fire the person who created the menu. The duck was simply terrible both individually and overall. And to the one who cooked it, I would suggest making burritos -- that would probably turn out better. Overall, good marketing, a pretty wrapper, and bad content. They spent money on marketing but didn't have enough left for a good chef and a kitchen team. After that, we went to the brewery next door and had an excellent pizza from a real Italian oven, with good -- not bottled -- beer. All at a price three times cheaper.

Delicious food, great service, perfect quaint ambiance! We got the goat cheese salad and Caesar salad to start. Our server was so skilled and remembering the specials and wine list! It was so impressive! For our entree's, we got short ribs with potatoes al gratin and the scallop special. I didn't want to pasta that came with the dish but the server recommended the saffron rice and veggies as a replacement. It still went perfectly. For dessert...we couldn't resist the crème brûlée. Would highly recommend if you want a fancy date night out or celebrating a milestone in your life.

We came here for my sister's 60th birthday. The service was wonderful and they celebrated the bday with streamers on the table. We did bring our own sparkling wine (corkage fee $45). The tapas were delicious, the escargot brought us back to Paris, the sand dabs were ok, the goat cheese salad was wonderful!!! We ended the night with the best dessert. Their Grand Marnier soufflé was exquisite. It was light, fluffy, and perfectly not too sweet. Jorge was amazing. The whole restaurant honored my sister's birthday with a lovely port at the end of dinner and a lovely "on the house" soufflé. We would go again. The ambience was old-world French / Italian. A lovely place. Excited to go back again.

Had dinner there last night. Fandango has been a favorite spot of mine for more than two decades. Can't go wrong with the paella, salmon, chicken, sand dabs, or calamari. All are fabulous! While the food is excellent enough to draw me back, the service and style of Fandango are a perfect complement to the food.

So pleasant for a large older restaurant with a huge fireplace, wood- beamed callings, white tableclothes. We were quickly greeted by our server Pedro who answered questions and shared the specials. He was attentive but not obtrusive throughout the evening. My husband's filet was prepared to perfection. My NY was overcooked but was immediately taken to be replaced. The host/maitre d' checked on us as well. Desserts were delicious - lemon cheesecake with raspberries NY style and Gran Marnier soufle - and beautifully presented. We lingered over wine and a cordial. We will definitely return when we are in the area.

Fandango's with 40 years of tradition on the Monterey Peninsula. Whether you're craving filet mignon, rack of lamb, duck with orange sauce or seafood this is your go to. Excellent dining and service. Definitely need reservations. Buon Appetito!

I tried the New York strip, and it was spot on cooked to perfection and packed with flavor. The sides, from the creamy mashed potatoes to the perfectly seasoned green beans, were just as delicious and tied the meal together. The staff here is incredibly friendly and attentive, making sure everything was just right. The ambiance of the restaurant is very relaxing. it's the perfect spot for a nice dinner night out, whether you're celebrating a special occasion or just enjoying a quiet evening. Everything about my experience was fantastic, and I'll definitely be coming back. Highly recommend!

However, they do not have a large selection of local wines so that was disappointing. I was hoping there would be a page featuring "local wines". Glad we brought a wine from Odonata with us. We enjoyed all the food offerings! The biscuit is truly fantastic. I know it's just a biscuit but I really loved the buttery crust and the super soft insides that melted in your mouth. The trout appetizer was tasty... The cracker it was served on was super hard and a bit hard to chew. So... I skipped that and didn't feel I was missing anything. The crab salad was filled with chunks of crab! It was lightly dressed to let the crab shine. Our mains were quite tasty and perfectly prepared. Take note, the clam linguine is generously powered by garlic. The clams are fat and juicy.

The fun artwork and paintings throughout the restaurant added so much personality and made the space even more enjoyable. We started with the duck pâté and bread. The pâté was silky smooth with just a hint of sweetness, paired perfectly with the toasted bread. It literally melted in your mouth. The octopus with bean and honey sauce was another standout. The sauce complemented the octopus beautifully. The octopus itself was incredibly tender and soft -- not chewy at all -- and honestly reminded me of some amazing octopus I had while visiting Portugal. The mussels came in a very generous portion, and the tomato sauce was so good you could drink it by itself. For our mains, we had the sea scallops and the seared tuna, and both dishes were excellent. Everything tasted fresh, thoughtful, and well executed. The coffee and tea cups were the Bodum brand, great quality, double-lined, and they kept the drinks warm while still being comfortable to hold. The inside has a rustic, laid-back vibe to it. Our waiter was attentive and nice - he did forget our two glasses of wine until we reminded him when our entrees came out. They did comp the wines at the end though, which was nice. As for food, we got the mussels and octopus to start. The mussels were cooked well and the broth was good. Liked the sourdough accompaniment a lot, especially dipped in the sauce/broth. The octopus was very interesting as well with the black bean honey sauce. Sweet yet had a sort of earthy/nuttiness to it. It had a very Asian influence to it, compared to the typical Italian or Greek method of preparing octopus. For entrees we got the seared duck breast and sea scallops. Scallops were a tad salty but were cooked well and had a buttery taste. I appreciated all the veggies it came with and made the dish very clean-tasting. Duck breast was very soft and easy to cut. Polenta was cooked well too and the chard gave a nice touch of green to the dish. The entire dish felt very comforting. We finished off with the apple cake and chocolate pot. Both were tasty, although the apple cake was a bit better. I enjoyed the ice cream and the cake had crispy edges and soft inside. Chocolate pot was smooth and easy to eat, and wasn't overly rich.
