I was excited to visit after hearing good things. My experience was not a great one at all. I walked up to the counter and the person at the counter totally ignored me as he continued to do whatever he was doing on his phone. I asked if I needed to place my order at the counter or if my order would be taken at the table since I had never been there and he told me to order at the counter. I had to continue to wait as he kept doing whatever he was doing on his phone. I almost left at that moment because I didn't feel like he wanted me to be in his establishment. I ordered beef, chicken, and pork dumplings. I loved the directions on the wall that showed the correct way to eat a soup dumpling since this was my first time. I did not like the dumplings at all. They tasted very wild and dirty to me. They were pretty but did not taste good at all. I will not be back ever.

Finally made it here with my friends since everyone else kept going without me and raving about it. We ordered two of each: beef, pork, and chicken, plus two cucumber salads. Everything is easy to share for 6 people. Portion was great. Seating is limited with maybe 25 spots, so it depends on how busy they are. The beef dumplings were my favorite, so flavorful, and the clear soup is really yummy too. Definitely coming back with friends or alone. Great spot and a solid find.

Hands-down, one of my favorite soup dumplings in St. Louis. I've been going here for years. Steamed dumplings in any of your flavor combination you like. A small cup of broth to complement the dumplings. While the ambience of this place is simple, I do love the fact that they have how to eat a soup dumpling on the wall. This place can get busy, but I've never been afraid to have others sit with me if they need a spot to eat. This practice is very common and other countries anyhow. The service is wonderful. They now have a system where you can order your food that will be brought to your table. The older woman who brings your food is so sweet.

A good spot if you're looking for a quick bite. The pork xiaolongbao had good flavor and lots of soup inside. Food comes out relatively fast and you order at the front. There's limited seating as the location is small.

I haven't tried many soup dumplings but this is definitely my favorite place for them! I like the simple menu yet variety of soup dumpling fillings and sides. My favorite are the beef ones but I still have to try all the fillings. I love how they have the steps to eat a soup dumpling on the wall, which allowed me to advance from a beginner level! I've tried the seaweed salad too which is refreshing. Very good location, ambiance, easy parking, and nice staff. Always a pleasure coming here!

Solo lunch! Easy electronic ordering system at the back of the shop. Ordered pork and crab dumplings with cucumber salad. So savory and warm on a cold day. If new to eating soup dumplings. Lift dumpling. But small hole on side. Drink liquid. Eat dumpling. Add spicy chili from table. But little goes a long way. Space is small and family focused. Service is quick and pleasant.

Love this place for a quick lunch or dinner! You order what you want up front and they bring it to your table. The restaurant is clean and vibrant. There's only a few tables and it can get pretty busy but people come and go pretty quickly. The soup dumplings are reallly good and always hit the spot. Soup is also complimentary.

Honestly, there's nothing negative to say about Soup Dumplings STL! I wish there were more tables, alas, there's not. I had the beef dumplings and the pork dumplings. Wow. Wow. Wow. Craving more right now and I'm still full from dinner. The chili oil is deliciously spicy! You can't go wrong if you love soup dumplings! Small place - 8 tables I think. But it was quiet, food comes out quickly, so you don't have to wait very long for a table.

The best soup dumplings, no matter what filling you get! This time we tried the pork and beef ones. Always so tasty! Chili oil highly recommended. They come out decently fast and even though it's a small space, we've never struggled to find a seat because people move in and out.

Small but mighty. This is a very small restaurant with very limited seating so if you're looking to eat inside, you might have to wait for a table. Me and my friend came here for dinner and it was so good. I went home thinking about it all night and I can't wait to return back. I got the pork soup dumplings and they were so flavorful And it's crazy how something so small can be packed with so much great flavor. You can tell they really know what they're doing, and I bet you this is one of the top soup dumpling places in St. Louis.

This food is fire! The soup dumplings are SO flavorful. The broth was delicious. The food came out relatively fast, given the crowd in the restaurant. I would 100% come back for dumplings. The braised pork was also delicious. However, it just simply tasted like pork belly with rice. There wasn't quite an Asian marinade flavor I was expecting. Nonetheless, the pork belly was tender and juicy. I will definitely be coming back!

This is not only one of St Louis's top 100 restaurants, it's one of my sister's favorites too! We were visiting from out of state for the holidays. What a great change from the traditional meals. You order from a limited menu at the counter. Limited is not a bad thing, it means they do one thing really well as in dumplings! I appreciated the simple to follow directions with graphics showing how best to enjoy these. In door dining space is limited, service is quick and food is delivered very hot to your table. We will return to Soup Dumpling the next time we are in U City.

Grazie mille to a friend of mine who introduced me to this soup dumpling stl! It's my fav spot now in stl for lunch and dinner alike. It's mom and pop shop. You will get to see them make these yummy goodies in front of you and you know it's so authentic! The owner couples are very friendly and work hard. They used to own private kitchen and had converted to soup dumplings. Too bad I've never gotten a chance to try private kitchen. Wish they will just invite to their home for home cook meals (wishful thinking :)) If you are from out of town, def give this place a try! If you are from stl, go and support them whenever you can. I can eat one set for $9 and be full and it's super cheap imo! PS chili is spicy if you are up for it! PS2 I've been there so many times the owner recognizes me and she's always smiling.

Are the crab & pork dumplings 8 dumplings of crap and pork or 4 of crab and 4 of pork?

All 8 are a combination of real crab & pork. Sounds strange, but it works! Definitely not "crap" filled. LOL!

    Any vegetarian or vegan options?

No, they dont have any vegetarian or vegan options.
