What an extreme disappointment. We hired Fant's to remove sediment from our pond, so it would be less shallow, thus less prone to aquatic pond growth. Matthew seemed so knowledgeable, said he had 3 family generations of experience behind him. PROMISED that by doing even one portion of the work it would 'break the underground roots' of one of the types of plants and kill a large portion of the plant material. Suggested re-sloping the pond edges. Well, they re-sloped the pond edges NOT by removing sediment but by removing the grass bank. They removed some sediment but created MORE shallow areas than we had before they started. The algae & plants are WORSE because of this. When I initially called to tell him how disappointed we were, he said they would make it right, we're an honorable company, blah blah. Then he kept delaying coming out to 'see what's going on.' After that, for the past 2 months, he hasn't answered the phone when I call and hasn't returned my messages. We saved money for 3 years to do this work ($19,000). I found the Fant's Tree Service to definitely be 5 Star business. The gentleman in charge was extremely knowledgeable, kind and listened to my concerns. He gave since recommendations. He took time to explain everything in terms that I could understand. He kept in contact with me. He was extremely punctual. The crew worked from the moment (AND he was on time-really a bit early) they stepped foot on our property. They worked as a team, they paid attention to safety, they left our property in tip top condition~cleaned up extremely well, the staff was kind and friendly. Oh, their vehicles were extremely clean~when I told them, they said they were due for a washing! WHAT??? I thought they were new! Each team member worked and did not stand around talking. I'll try to be very frank and fair in this review. Would I use this company again? No. Do I feel good about using this company? No. Could I recommend this company? No. Matthew quoted us $6,000 per day and said he would have a large crew and "millions of dollars of equipment" on our property. He said they would remove the stumps and do a complete cleanup. He would not quote us for the full job or how many days he felt it would take. Finally, we called it quits after 5 days and $30,000. No tree trunks were ground or removed. All of this said, the workers did excellent work and cleaned up very well. They knew what they were doing. If money is no object, you will be pleased with their work, but it will cost you! read more

Came out quickly and completed a quote. Well priced and offered to throw in some pruning and an extra stump that was already there from a previous tree removal. The crew that ended up coming to do our job was very professional and quick. However, they rescheduled us 4 times and the only time they would communicate with us is if we called repeatedly until we got someone on the phone. At the end of the job neither of the extras were complete and we were told that the tree they offered to prune "needed to come down anyway" so we should wait until the spring and have them come back out to remove the whole thing for an additional cost. And the older stump was not removed because utilities were not marked. That's understandable, but they never asked us to have them marked, how were we to know they needed that? read more

I had the pleasure of Fant's Tree Service perform some work at our house. We had two trees that needed to come down due to being hollow at the base. They came out quickly and gave a quote. We ended up getting a third tree removed due to the reasonable price. After consulting with 2 other companies we decided to go with Fant's. We had a hard time getting scheduled due to the wet weather and their chipper losing a bearing. We were finally able to get it done within the timeline albeit at the end. They brought a large crew to assist and were done in just over 4 hours. Being a new customer they ground the stumps for free. Not only did they grind the 3 stumps but also two others that were left from a storm. Fant's took all the wood away and chipped the brush. They were nice enough to give my neighbor quite a bit of chips for free. Fant's was professional in their work and customer service. I would have no problems recommending them. read more

Terribly unorganized, terrible at communication, and make you feel like you aren't worth the effort if you have a "small" job to be done. I received a flyer in my mailbox and happened to need a few trees removed so I figured I would give them a call. I got an in-person estimate a few days later and was thrilled to get this job done quickly...that's where the good part ends. After calling back a few days later I told the receptionist, Chrissy, that I was accepting the estimate and wanted to schedule the job. She told me that an email would be sent out in a day or two confirming a scheduled date. A week later the email never came so I called the office. They scheduled the job but never bothered to inform me of the date. The day before the date I received an email that they needed to reschedule because of weather (there was no rain that day btw) and that the ground was too wet so damage was likely..."whatever, okay" I thought. Now comes the date of the reschedule and nobody shows up, calls, or emails...so I call the office again and get the response of "we have a lot of tree damage to clean up and it's inconvenient to send a team of twelve guys out for such a small job (when there are bigger jobs to take care of)". Busy or not, it is common courtesy to inform a customer that you are unable to perform a scheduled job. In synopsis, look elsewhere if you have a small job, otherwise you aren't worth their time....or even worth a phone call or email. read more

When removing a large fallen tree Matthew and Roger did not live up to the part of our agreement to completely grind up the root ball and stump. Repeated calls to their office, completely explaining this problem resulted in the response, directed by Matthew, to "schedule an estimate." This would mean paying for the same work twice. My friend's car was on the other side of the driveway of an Airbnb we were at, and Fant's tree service started cutting without notifying us to move the car. They broke his windshield and refuse to pay for the damages. It is a brand new car, so the damage wasn't there before. We would have moved the cars if they had warned us they were coming, or even knocked to get us to move the cars. read more
